It is one celsius and the snow is melting and dropping off the trees.
I've already had to run to avoid snow falling on my head.
Morning bud, hi.
The temperature has dropped again because it is snowing.
That's what I have to report.
I think this is my best yet.
I've got different filming ideas.
Morning bud.
Hi, go ahead.
Good morning, welcome to vlogmas day 13.
So the conditions today are horrible.
It is one celsius and the snow is melting and dropping off the trees.
The squirrel forest has become a bit of a danger zone.
Oh no, there is wind.
I've already had to run to avoid snow falling on my head
and I was so warm entering the forest I took off my jacket.
But I think I should put it back on now.
This morning we've had Buddy, Rusty, Star Eye who didn't really eat and Sylvie.
Although the forest still looks very beautiful with lots of snow on the trees,
I don't think this will last until tomorrow.
I have found an area where it's quite open so less snow would fall on me.
But this tree is swinging a lot because the wind and that snow is going to fall.
I think today is going to be a short visit to the squirrel forest.
The squirrels aren't even here.
I saw Sylvie a moment ago but she's disappeared now.
And it just looks very wet.
The birds look wet, the squirrels look wet,
their ear tufts are all very stringy because it's wet.
But maybe my drone will fall in this wind.
I'm already going to call it a morning.
And Rusty is here.
No, Ginger!
Hi Ginger!
So that's five squirrels today.
She has just put snow all over my jacket.
We are going to the shops.
I have to collect a package and we need food.
We have run out of groceries.
The temperature has dropped again because it is snowing.
So this is my first time really in the new car.
I've been in it twice for about 10 minutes and I think we're happy, right?
Yeah, it's comfortable.
The car that we've been driving over the past few years we brought over from the UK
and we were actually borrowing that car from a lovely subscriber called David.
And that car is just not designed for this climate.
So every winter we struggle because most of the cars in northern Sweden have
heating systems to warm up the car and the engine before you turn it on.
And that car doesn't have that and we've just massively struggled, especially last winter.
We have just arrived to Norshavn, which is our closest town.
There are two supermarkets and I'm going to do a bit of food shopping.
That's all I have to report.
So creepy!
Beetroot hummus.
I feel like I want...
More salt.
Something... spices.
Coriander or...
I'm gonna add spices.
We didn't eat lunch.
It's six o'clock and we're basically having breakfast for dinner.
I have also made a sourdough loaf and I think this is my best yet.
So it has been cooling and I'm excited to open it.
I just hope it's perfect.
It smells quite sour.
It was in the fridge for 16 hours, I think.
12 or 16 hours.
That's a big difference.
14 or 16 hours, I think.
Also, I've got questions about this plant-based salmon and it's from this brand.
It's pea protein, seaweed extract, vegetable fibres.
Okay, moment of truth.
It's a little bit underbaked.
It has a good spring but it's gonna be tricky to cut.
Smells good.
I hope by Christmas I will have perfected the sourdough and I can make a perfect loaf of bread.
Also, the design was supposed to be trees.
You can sort of see them.
But this is supposed to be white and this is supposed to be dark, which didn't happen.
I'm sure it'll be tasty.
We're going to Connie's house because there's some photographers that I know who are visiting.
So I'm going to go over and say hello and upload my video there because the internet is so much faster.
It was really nice seeing everyone at Connie's house.
Jack brought me a card from Jane.
Just to say a huge thank you for all your uplifting videos.
They're beautiful.
I saw this at Bath Christmas Market and thought of you and the squirrel forest.
Wishing you a very happy festive season, Jane.
And look, it's a squirrel foraging for mushrooms.
How perfect.
I love it.
He's gonna get some amanitas.
It's fine.
So thank you, Jane.
I'm gonna put it on the tree.
I love his waistcoat.
I wish Buddy could wear a waistcoat.
So it is 10 o'clock.
I'm gonna make a red Thai curry or a panang curry with tofu and veggies.
And it's going to be healthy and good.
This afternoon, as I sat down to edit the video, I started to get super overwhelmed.
And I looked at the footage and I didn't find it very interesting.
And so I really struggled to start editing.
I've now edited the video, so it's all fine.
But I thought I'd share my tips for how to overcome getting overwhelmed.
One of the first things I like to do is completely pause on the task I'm trying to do.
And change my environment.
Whether that's to go on a 10-minute walk, have a quick shower.
Just something to completely change what I'm doing.
I then change my environment.
And wherever I was trying to do the task, I will then go to a different...
So either go to my office or just the kitchen table.
And get a piece of paper or a journal.
And write down everything I need to do.
And a squirrel pen definitely helps.
And then I will tackle the smallest thing first.
And that usually helps me get into the flow of doing the task.
And the reason I got overwhelmed is that I found, personally, the past few videos...
I've not done something really interesting to me.
And I was just thinking, what am I going to do for the rest of Vlogmas?
Like, what am I going to film?
And I've written down all the ideas that I have.
And there's so much.
I want to put up the train that goes under the Christmas tree.
I want to go foraging and make a drink out of something from the forest.
I also want to go on a hike up an old...
That has this amazing viewpoint.
We've got dog sledding in a week or so.
So there is so much.
I just needed a couple of days to do some simple things.
And basically plan for the week ahead.
And I'm really excited for the upcoming videos.
And there are a lot of fun things happening.
Talking about a plan...
I thought I'd show you how I loosely planned Vlogmas.
I created a page on the app that I sort of plan my videos.
So at the top, I had important dates and just interesting things that happen in December.
Then I had my daily framework.
I've got different filming ideas.
And there's actually quite a few here I've done.
And some that I still want to do.
Then I have some daily ideas which are categorised by sort of what they are.
Whether they're house decorations or some crafting, baking.
And the last section was about Christmas markets.
So there's a little bit of behind the scenes of the things I've got upcoming.
I feel like tomorrow I want to get out the Christmas train.
I'm excited for the rest of Vlogmas and I hope you are too.
But I'll see you tomorrow morning in the squirrel forest.
Good night.
Hey, my name is Agne and originally I'm from Lithuania.
But now I live in Sweden.
And in four days I will be celebrating three years anniversary since I moved here.
I live by the sea in the very south of Sweden.
Where the snow is pretty rare and the rain seems quite endless.
And these past few months it was just raining non-stop.
And the grey clouds were covering the sky.
And it's no surprise that the weather affects the mood and the Christmas spirit.
But Danny, I want to say a big thank you for your little before Christmas vlogs.
They have been such a source of warmth and comfort.
Like a small light in these gloomy days.
And they bring a lot of warmth, joy and nostalgia for the snowy winters.
And I just wanted to wish you and the entire community
a beautiful Christmas filled with warmth, love and happiness.
And I hope that the upcoming year will bring us clarity, growth and kindness.
And may we find moments of peace in our own lives and extend that peace outwards.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
