Is this what you imagined it to be in Hoi An? Yeah, living the slow life and not have to
move too much. This is exactly what we were looking forward to, just enjoying our coffees,
looking at the rice fields. And this time though, it's young rice. Yeah, we're lucky. Yeah,
we get to see the farmers working the fields, filling up the empty patches. It's really nice.
So last year when we came to Hoi An, we loved it so much. We said that next year, which is this
year, we need to come back to, you know, enjoy more of Hoi An and the rice fields and see if
it is a place that we can, you know, stay here to work, to find a nice hotel with the perfect
view of the rice fields. Like stay longer term. Yeah. And I think we have found the perfect place
this time. Yeah. So we're staying at another hotel that is in the rice fields because it's
kind of our vibe. And this place has been pretty lovely because the rooms are so spacious and so
big and the bed is one of the most comfortable. We've been sleeping so well. And it's only 30
USD a night. And they include free laundry, like one basket of free laundry every day. So basically
our laundry is taken care of. We have free breakfast. The staff is super friendly. Yeah,
I think we're really going to enjoy this for a few weeks before we go try out Da Nang to see
if it's also a place that we can come and chill and work as an alternative to Samui because Samui
is getting a bit expensive. To rent a motorbike, we paid about 150,000 Dong per day. So I think
the range is going to be about 150,000 to 180,000. We did bargain a little bit, didn't we, to get
this price? But it's very reasonable. I think it's 7 or 8 USD per day. And you can rent it from
your hotels. And if you're not comfortable with a motorbike, then you can of course use the
bicycles that they provide for free at most hotels. So right now we are heading towards the
beach side of Hoi An. Last time we came here, we didn't even know that there is a beach in Hoi An.
So we're going to check out two beaches. We'll start with one of the most beautiful ones.
I'm probably going to butcher it, but it's called Hoi Dai Beach.
This is like a hidden beach. It's so beautiful. We saw the sign for Hoi Dai Beach, but then we
kept driving. And this is still part of the beach, but it's like a hidden cove. That's pretty amazing.
Not a lot of people here. Oh, the sand is so soft.
I miss being on the beach. Me too.
Claim that spot there. Yes. Claim the shade because we forgot sunscreen.
This is incredible. I think Hoi An Beach beats Da Nang Beach because the water is much calmer
here and it's not as windy. We really liked, what is the beach called in Da Nang? Mee Kay.
Mee Kay Beach? Yeah. We really liked it. It was so chill to just sit there and you can rent those
chairs for super cheap, but it was windy and you don't really swim in it. But this one
looks swimmable. And we'll do that. Should we go for a swim? We should go for a swim.
Water's so nice. Bottom is all sand. Why is no one swimming here?
Maybe they didn't know because there's another bigger sign of the beach entrance way back there.
So if you want to find this beautiful empty beach, just keep driving for like five minutes.
Well, we know why Vietnamese only go to the beach in the morning at like seven in the morning for
sunset. They don't want to tan at all. So they're not going to be at the beach. Yeah. Even when
they're driving, they wear a sweater. They're very protective and don't want to get dark.
Did you have a good sunbathing session? Yeah. So nice. I could just fall asleep here.
But we have a mission. We need to check out Ang Bang Beach over there. Maybe get a nice...
This is so chill. Wow. It's like a garden on the beach. Oh my goodness. Look at all the
It's a lot busier than the beach we just came from for sure. So this is now Ang Bang Beach.
A more popular one I think. Yeah. More restaurants and cafes and kind of like beachfront dining.
Right. Yeah. It's pretty lovely though. Look. All the seating down there. Pretty much taken.
And the front row here is taken as well. I think up here. I think we can get this one.
There's this one and that one. Let's go for that one. Okay.
We're here too. But we have a special place we want to go for lunch. So we're gonna not eat
and just enjoy our coffee here. The lunch place is worth the wait. I really really love the vibe
It's a good place to come with friends too. If you have friends. We don't have friends.
I wasn't expecting the vibe in Hoi An to be like this. I was really excited to come to Hoi An
because of the old town and the rice paddies. Absolutely. The food. But I wasn't expecting
a beach holiday vibe. And it's so much more chill than Samui or Bali or something like
that. It's so laid back. Prices are cheap. And our drinks are here. Oh wow.
This is my first coconut coffee this trip. I was trying to limit my sugar intake. I was
telling you. Because usually by 3 p.m. I'm like shaking with sugar. Like sugar craving. So I was
like okay. I'm gonna try not to have a sweet coffee every day. This might change everything.

From the beach and at the special lunch place we mentioned earlier called Koutou BBQ. And here
we're going to have their special grilled meats with this rice paper wrap. That was so quick. Okay
thank you. This is dry rice paper. But I have the wet one here. Oh interesting. And yeah this smells
peanut sauce. It's fish sauce. There's fish sauce for sure. It's hot. I think it might be like sesame
not really peanut. We'll have to find out. I think that she's going to show us how to do it. The best
part of Vietnamese food is they always give you a basket of vegetables. You're always getting a
good amount of veggies. Like this one has cucumber, lettuce, fresh cilantro. Smells so good here. It
doesn't smell like soap. It does not to me. Yeah one and one. Thank you. Wow that's so cool. Yeah
Easy right? Easy. And vegetables. Everything. Oh very good. Yeah.
Now do you see? Two fingers. Two fingers. Yeah. Sorry would you like chili? Yes please.
Spicy? A little bit. A little bit spicy.
Is it really that good? Do you remember? We take a piece of rice paper. Rice paper is so underrated.
In Vietnam they use rice paper for everything. They have dry ones. They have wet ones.
They use this for spring rolls, fresh rolls. It's so good. It's so refreshing.
So simple but so delicious. The meat is grilled to perfection. Like the char,
the taste is not too fatty but it has some fat. Yeah just to keep it nice and tender and juicy.
We even destroyed a second basket of herbs here. I could honestly eat another set. It's not very
filling because the rice paper is so little and then everything is just a little bit. It almost
feels like a salad to be honest. Yeah. It feels so light. And each skewer was ten thousand. Yeah.
The set is a hundred and fifty thousand which is roughly like six dollars for two people.
So shout out to Jesse for recommending this place to us through our Instagram and a lot of you
also sent in recommendations for Hoi An and we've been trying as many as we can and I would have to
say majority of them have been wonderful. So we will create a little highlight in our Instagram
in order to kind of collect all that and share with you guys who are also planning a trip to Hoi An.
I have seen herb gardens before but never to this scale. It's pretty incredible isn't it? We were at
this cafe doing some work just yesterday. It's called Cafe Slow and after we finished working
we came out and just saw everyone working on the organic garden here. So we asked the owner of the
cafe where does it belong to someone and she's like oh it belongs to the community. Each like
people kind of split this area and then they grow their own herbs and vegetables like we see.
It's everything. Yeah we see morning glory here, we see lettuce, cilantro, spring onion, chisel,
mint, basil, everything and it's so beautiful. I would love to have a garden. Not to this scale but
the smaller garden would be amazing. But we're not quite sure how you buy from them. I think you can
walk up and just buy from them. That's what the owner said but she's also not sure. We noticed
there are cooking schools around here so I think that might be one of the sources as you come to
pick your own vegetables and then you go do a cooking class. They probably supply them to
local restaurants in Hoi An. I wonder, I don't know. I think some restaurants around here
say organic vegetables so maybe that's where it's from but it looks different from what we see at
the market for sure. Do you know why they grow lemongrass along the side here? You can see it
all over. I heard someone say it. I heard someone tell the other tour why. It's because of snakes.
The lemongrass are snake repellent.
Are you trying to get a job here? She's teaching me how to pull them out.
The grass that she doesn't want them in between the mint because they feel all the nutrition
No more?
She's sitting here in front of the mint. I can smell the mint. It's so nice. Smells so good.
She's just picking like the ready ones so she's going through the bunch and she's just picking
like the bigger leaves and isn't it interesting that in between the different columns they still
plant something so they're not wasting any space. This makes me happier to see like herbs and lettuce
and and all this greenery. It makes me happier than seeing flowers. It's so cool to like this
morning we were staring at the rice paddies and then this afternoon we look into the ocean the
open ocean and now staring at an organic garden. Yeah so incredible. Hoi An did it again.
True. Hoi An's pretty amazing.
I think it's that one. That one just over here.
Perfect timing. Look the sun is setting. Yeah we got here just in time. Let's go find the
nicest seat in the house. It smells like cinnamon buns. Why does it smell like cinnamon buns?
It says weekend food market Saturday and Sundays. Agricultural tour experience but there's so much
going on here. You see the piano in the middle of the rice field? You said they have live music here
right? Yeah they're set up there. I think they're just taking a break.
We got to experience a whole different side of Hoi An that we didn't know existed last time we were
here. We hope you got some travel inspiration for where to go on your next trip to Hoi An.
Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful day and we will see you in the next one. Bye.
