The Young Bulls Challenge the Dominant Elephants

Along the river stream where there's a lot of green, a lot of vegetation to browse on. Some commotions took place recently. I'm not sure what exactly they saw or they smelled. A cat nearby, could be a lion, leopard or even wild elephant down. So they all react in a protective behavior. They all make a barrier to protect the young ones. There's a lundi trying to rest up in the air. Suddenly smelling something. Fisher over here. Bit windy today. This is about five. Too excited. To the left, you can see also the tree position in the hierarchy. So for him it's not a threat. Here we have this gentleman here you don't really see often. His name is Somapani. Seemed to be a quite a shy guy. But he's the most intelligent elephant. There was a time we used him to trick down the coaches within the reserve. So his tricking skills are really really extremely. But you know since he's an elephant, so every time he sees a nice tree, you know what happens? He will abandon the whole mission and goes after that tree and then comes back later for 10 minutes. Now he's a lovely elephant. Quite intelligent. Then we have Jabolani just approaching as well. So now he's just doing a little bit of dust bath, you know. He's throwing dust all over his body just to protect his skin from the sunburns. Then Jabolani being the dominant over Somapani, you can see how Somapani is submitting and making space for Jabolani. It's a very very interesting behavior. Now as you can see they're standing together because Jabolani is showing no threat to Somapani. So that's why Somapani just kept standing there. So he's aware of what Jabolani is capable of. But he's just, you know, respecting him. And then from the right we have Lisa coming in. Oh we're just sitting under that tree. It's a nice shade here. And they're like, oh let's share the shade, you know. It's too hot today so we can share. So everyone slowly they're making their way into the shade. So yeah, behind me is our super lady, Iyotokwe, right behind me. He's feeding himself. Also standing in the shade. Also standing among the two bulls. you
