I LOVE doing full on refinishing/restorations, especially mid century or mid century style pieces. It's actually a bit funny because I never used to care for mid century furniture... but now I absolutely love it!
I wanted to put together some clips of my favourite mid century pieces from the last year on YouTube. All of these segments have full length videos on my channel. I'll link them below if you want a better look at repairs, techniques, and products than what is provided here. This is basically a relaxing journey through 6 insanely satisfying furniture makeovers featuring different refinishing products. I will be doing a video like this every so often. ❤️
Please be kind. I know not all of these will be everyone's cup of tea, so to speak, but I want my channel to be a fun and uplifting, positive place for people to visit. Everyone has a different journey, whether that's in regards to skill level, access to proper tools and supplies, space to work, etc. Most of these pieces were in horrible condition and there's only so much that can be done for them, especially when working with veneer. Not only that, but there are always more than one way to do the same thing! I'm very pleased and proud of each of them, as they are six pieces of history spared from a landfill!

Hello everybody, welcome back to another video.
If you're familiar with my channel at all, you know that I do a ton of restorations.
I also do painted pieces from time to time,
and that encompasses all different types of styles of furniture,
but I have a sweet spot, if you will, for mid-century furniture.
And not all mid-century is what we call mid-century modern.
Mid-century refers to a time period.
Mid-century modern refers to a style of furniture within that time period.
I thought it would be really fun to compile some of my favorite
mid-century restorations from the last year into one video.
So pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea or hot chocolate, whatever floats your boat.
Grab some snacks and curl up,
because this one's a little bit longer than usual, but I hope you enjoy it.
Stay tuned.
My name is Angie and I refinish furniture.
Sometimes I paint and sometimes I don't,
but I always do what I can to save old pieces from the trash.
Welcome to my workroom.
All of the projects you're about to see have their own full-length YouTube videos,
so I will link those down below just in case you're curious about the full process.
In those videos, I go into a lot more depth
and give you a lot of tips and tricks along the way,
so check those out if there's any that you're particularly interested in.
Otherwise, just sit back and enjoy.
So you guys know that at the beginning of the year, I redid my workroom.
I bought myself a miter saw, which is something I've always wanted to have,
and I bought myself a folding table saw.
It's great because it just folds up in the corner here.
One of the main reasons I wanted to buy these things
is because I wanted to get a little bit further into woodworking.
So this video, Beginner Woodworking by Brittany Joyner, is about joinery specifically,
and she's actually really funny.
She blends comedy with information and that's always a good mix.
In this video, she shows you how to glue and screw,
use pocket holes, dowels, biscuits,
and all of this is to create your own custom picture frame.
And it's a start.
You have to walk before you can run.
For me, this course was a great introduction.
I can't wait to watch more woodworking courses.
