Hello my lovelies! Welcome back to my channel. To those of you who are new to my channel,
I'm Rux and here we discuss all things astrology related. To those of you who have been following
me for a while, I would like to thank you for the support and for the fact that you are still here
following me on my astrological journey. And I can't tell you how important it is for me
to receive messages from you and comments and emails. And even though I don't reply to every
single one of you, it is something that feeds me and keeps me going. So thank you for being there.
Now today we're going to do a little bit of an unconventional video because this is not usually
how I operate. I usually have a set plan in mind and I like to talk about things that I really
know and understand. That's my comfort zone. That's where I'm comfortable. So today the topic
that I am bringing up is a topic that I acknowledge from the very beginning that I don't know that
much about. I might not have, no, I for sure do not have all the answers. I do not know all the
intricacies of it. So I'd like to heavily, heavily caveat everything that I'm about to say
moving forward because I'm not perfect. I'm probably not incredibly well educated in this
area. And I'm looking at this topic with the lens of a human being and an astrologer at the same
time. And it's probably, it is probably a topic that we could go on discussing it out for forever
because people have very strong feelings about it. It's a very polarizing topic.
What am I talking about? I mean, you've seen that already in the headline. I'm talking about
addiction. I have to give it to you that addiction is actually a topic that I'm oddly fascinated
about. And I'm not just referring, so yes, there is, there is this area of addiction in the
classical or whatever, like socially accepted sense of the word when we're talking about maybe
substance abuse. So being addicted to substances, to drugs, but addiction can take many forms.
And if you ask me, and I'm obviously not the first person to say this, we are all addicted
to something, but some addictions are more socially acceptable than others. So we've got people who
are addicted to being out and being surrounded by friends and going out and having like this
very active social life. And if they don't, don't get that, they become despondent, they become
depressed, they are not enjoying life anymore because they're not getting their daily or
whatever, like, um, frequent kick of dopamine and serotonin from, uh, that they get out of
these social outings. So addition can take many forms. If you ask me, um, it just depends. What
is our, uh, drug of choice? I would, uh, I would say now, um, I opened up this topic because
before I went to astrology school, uh, in my head, addiction in an astrological chart.
Uh, so spoiler alert, in case you haven't realized, uh, today we're going to talk about
the placements in someone's natal chart, um, that make them prone to being addicted to,
um, a certain type of behavior, um, a certain element in their life. Uh, but I'd like to clear
to really state this from the very beginning. I do think that addiction is something that runs
through our blood and we can even be addicted to things that are considered harmless, such as,
um, working out. I mean, a lot of people who, a lot of people who make, um, going to the gym,
who turn it into their job, uh, can to a certain level be addicted to working out. And there's
nothing bad about that. It's just that they are addicted to getting their kick, uh, and their buzz
out of, uh, working out. So apologies. I, if I'm offending anyone in any way, that is completely
not my intention. And like I said, um, I usually talk about, uh, topics that I'm comfortable
talking about and that I know a lot about, but I decided, you know what, let's give this a shot
and let's talk about something that is really of interest to me, even though I am like an ignorant
probably to a certain extent. So let's talk about what happens in the chart in, uh, when it comes to,
um, addictive behaviors. And like I said, I think we all have them. Um, so before I went to
astrology school, um, spoiler alert, I studied at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London.
Um, in my head, I thought that addiction was very much related to, uh, the planet Neptune and where
you have it in your natal chart, what house you have it in your natal chart and also what aspects
it's making to the other planets. So for instance, um, let's say if you had, uh, well in my head,
uh, I was kind of thinking if you had Neptune in some sort of aspect with your Mars, uh, you might
have, uh, idealized the notion of being active, of being a leader, of taking the initiative of stepping
up. But after I went to astrology school, uh, someone brought this, uh, this topic up in class
and, uh, one of my teachers said that she actually strongly believes that addiction is related to
your moon sign and the aspects that your moon is making and the house that your moon is placed in.
And I thought about it and I said, you know what? That actually makes a lot of sense
because addiction to an extent is a place where we feel safe. We fall back on behaviors and habits
that makes, that make us feel safe. And what is the moon? What does the moon sign symbolically
represent in someone's chart? Then a space where we feel safe, wherever we feel understood, where
we feel like our needs are met. So I thought, okay, I'm going to bring this up on my channel.
I'm going to see what people think. And I, I very much, I would appreciate, I would love it if you
guys told me what, what your take is on addiction and addictive behaviors and, uh, maybe specific
placements that you associate with addictive behaviors. So after my teachers said that, uh, I
kind of had like an aha moment and I thought, yeah, you know what? That makes total sense.
So whilst Neptune can be related to, um, the idea of escapism and escaping and, uh, going into this
sort of like idealized world and idealized space in our life or in our heads, um,
this surreal space that we build for us in our heads, um, actually addiction is about habit
and the moon governs our habits. So I thought, okay, I'm going to bring this up and I'm going
to tell you what my take is on, uh, the moon and its placements and its aspect and what,
uh, that might translate into, uh, from a, from an addictive point of view.
Now, um, addiction is also about control and self-control. So if you've got the moon and
Capricorn, and if you work really hard and that makes you feel safe, it doesn't necessarily mean
you are addicted to work. So for addiction to actually, um, unfold, I do believe that you need
some aspects, uh, maybe some challenging aspects, uh, from, uh, the likes of, um,
Neptune, for instance, um, where we idealize the addictive behavior and where we idealize
this safe space that the moon takes us to. Also, uh, I do think that addiction is related to,
um, aspects to the moon from Pluto. Pluto can make us quite obsessed with this safe space that
the moon takes us in and with the habits that the moon governs. So we either use, if we've got,
uh, Neptune aspects to our moon or Pluto aspects to our moon, so we either use this, um, these
habits that the moon, uh, thrusts upon us as a way to escape the outside world or as a way to,
like, focus on that and only that. And both of these behaviors can either be constructive or
destructive. I know that's very controversial to say because addiction is usually associated with
destructive behaviors, but I also think it can be associated with constructive behaviors because
workaholism in this lifetime, sorry, uh, and in the society tends to be rewarded and tends to be
appreciated. So some people might consider it very constructive to be obsessed about work and
building a career and building a company, even though you might be, uh, driving yourself into
the ground with all this work and all this stress. Okay, rant over. Let's talk about having the moon
in Aries and what, uh, what sort of, uh, addictive behaviors that might bring into your life. Um,
also the moon aspected by Mars, um, can manifest in a similar way. So the moon in Aries can be
addicted to action. So if they feel like their hands are tied and they cannot act upon something,
they cannot do things. They can't be constantly doing constantly acting constantly on the move.
Um, they might feel like they're losing it. So the default pattern that the moon and Aries,
uh, goes to, and it can turn into addictive behavior. Absolutely. Uh, tends to be action.
It could also be working out. I've mentioned it before. I'm going to mention it again. Moon and
Aries, uh, uh, might have this need to like channel their energy in a specific direction,
and they can very well be addicted to working out. I would also say, um,
participating in competitions and making everything, turning everything into a competition
and winning winning can be one of their utmost addictions in their life. They can be addicted
to the kick that they get out of winning something and coming, uh, coming up first,
being the first, being the best. Now the moon in Taurus, what sort of addictive behaviors or
like the moon aspected by Venus, what sort of addictive behaviors can this engender?
Uh, I would say, uh, retail therapy and being addicted to like satisfying the senses and
shopping therapy, uh, is also, is very possible with the moon in Taurus or aspected by Venus.
Um, I would also say the moon in Taurus can be, um, very much, um,
can have like an addictive relationship to food and, uh, an unhealthy, uh, well, if it's,
if it's poorly aspected, obviously, if it's like well aspected or if it has like mitigating
factors such as, um, I don't know, the sun in Capricorn maybe, uh, but the moon in Taurus can
fall back on satisfying the senses and also satisfying oneself through food. Um,
what about the moon in Gemini? The moon in Gemini, I've given this example earlier,
or like the moon in aspected by a Mercury can be prone to developing addictive behaviors
around, uh, socialization and constantly, uh, having someone to communicate with and
having someone to interact with and, uh, having this like crazy active social life.
And if they don't have, uh, anyone to meet or talk to, uh, they might be the type of people
who have their TV turned on all the time because they can't stand the silence. Uh,
there might be this, uh, incredible attachment towards communicating and expressing oneself.
Now, uh, the moon in Cancer, again, can become very addicted to food,
can fall back on food. So unhealthy, uh, eating behaviors can be related to a poorly aspected
moon in Cancer. Um, not necessarily poorly aspected, maybe it's like poorly aspected by
a specific transit and they can fall into, uh, addictive behaviors around food when there's this
poor transit. There's this like challenging transit that is aspecting their moon in Cancer.
Um, I would also say there can be an addiction to holding on to emotions and emotional attachment.
And then that can become quite toxic, uh, for, uh, moon in Cancer people because it can turn
against them. It can make them sick. Um, there's this tendency to hold on to feelings and, uh,
this attachment to emotions, which can be good, but I can't think of a specific reason when it
is good. Most of the times it's them holding grudges. Um, now the moon in Leo, what is the
moon in Leo addicted to, or what can they become addicted to? Because it doesn't mean that if
you've got the moon and Leo, you are absolutely like obsessed with this. Uh, the moon and Leo
might, um, get a strong kick and might therefore become addicted to love and attention. Uh, so
having like this, uh, they are in love with being in love. Generally moon and Leo's, they can also
be in love with, um, being the center of attention. Uh, and I know that's, uh, very stereotypical,
but it is something that, uh, they might cause a drama. They might throw a tantrum about if they're
not getting enough attention or if people are not giving them the time of day. Uh, why is this like,
why are we talking about me, me, me? So, um, because they, they feel this need to, um,
to be loved, to be popular, to be liked, um, their self-esteem can get quite a hit out of
not being liked and not being popular and not receiving pop, not receiving validation.
Uh, moon and Leo can become quite addicted to receiving external validation from others. And
if they don't get that again, they can become quite despondent. Now, uh, moon and Virgo,
what can these people become addicted to? Where, well, they, moon and Virgo's, uh, um, and the
moon again, aspected by mercury, uh, might have the tendency to become, uh, obsessed with their
health and they, they can become hypochondriacs. So they can be the type of people who are, uh,
obsessed with, uh, their health and who look up symptoms of like diseases that they don't have.
And they might, uh, uh, diagnose themselves over and over again. Now, uh, the moon and Libra can
be very much addicted to companionship or feel this like strong need for companionship and having
someone in their life. And they are the type of people who are usually not comfortable being
single, not comfortable being on their own. Um, moon and Scorpio, these people are probably
usually addicted to being in control and having, uh, like pulling the ropes. Um,
moon and Scorpios can also become very addicted to, uh, toxic emotions, just like Hanserians.
Um, and they might find it quite hard to let go of, uh, they find soulless, they find a safe space
in the darkest of places. And it's very hard to let go of those dark places. I mean, it could
seem like the, like a no brainer thing to do, but, uh, moon and Scorpios are usually addicted to their
pain and to that painful place that they have reached in their life. And they don't want to
get out of there. Moon and Sagittarius, what are these people addicted to or what they can become
addicted to? They are very restless moon and Sagittarians, and they can become addicted to
the whole idea of movement and like moving from one place to the next and this like continual
state of stimulation and continual state of discovering things and exploring new things.
Um, I would also say that it's possible moon and Sagittarius can rely very heavily on,
uh, this idea of exploration and broadening their knowledge, even when, uh, the matter at
hand and the situation that they have to deal with, the challenge that they have to deal with
doesn't have anything to do with, uh, introducing a new element to the, to the scene. Uh, it has
more to do with acknowledging their emotions or acknowledging other people's needs moon and
Capricorn. Now this is the example that I've given to start with moon and Capricorn can become very
easily addicted to, uh, work very easily addicted to, um, receiving recognition and acknowledgement
at work. Uh, very addicted to the kick that they get out of when people, uh, recognize their status
and their achievements. And they can get very addicted to the sense of like having to like
hit their objectives, hit another one and end another one and like hit another milestone and
another achievement. And if they're not constantly achieving something, they might feel like they are
failing on a, on a, on a deep seated level. Uh, when things get rough though, they tend to, uh,
escape in work and they can be the classic workaholics of the, of the Zodiac because
work does feel like a, like a safe space, uh, moon and Aquarius. Uh, what is the, um, behavior
that they rely on and what can become some sort of like addictive behavior? Uh, the idea of freedom
and the idea of like not being tied up by anything or anyone. So when things get rough, they might
run away. Uh, they can become very addicted to this, like whole feeling of, um, freedom and
liberty and not depending on anyone and not having anyone depend on them. And, uh, that's why
it's very easy for them to run from responsibilities. Um, moon and Pisces, last but not least. Now,
the classic thing that someone with moon and Pisces might, might be accused of, or they might
be in danger of falling to is, uh, an addiction to, um, substances like classic substances like
alcohol and drugs. But that's, I would say the unevolved, uh, moon and Pisces. The evolved
moon and Pisces might become very addicted to, uh, all things, uh, spiritual, uh, to the discovery of
like, um, this, uh, all these like esoteric answers and all these transcendental answers
and looking for answers outside of the mundane, even in situations where the answers are actually
in the 3d real world and escaping into the stratosphere and escaping into the ethereal
is not going to help you. So, uh, their addictive behavior might be very much related to escapism
and not facing reality and not facing what is actually happening in their day-to-day life.
And, um, that can happen in a variety of ways. It can happen through like them consuming substances
or it can happen through, uh, them escaping in their own imagination and creating, uh, works of
art of, uh, unspeakable beauty. So that's my take on astrology and addiction. I'm really curious to
hear, uh, what you think. And I'm really curious to hear about any other placements that you
consider are, um, make one prone towards having a certain type of addictive behavior. Now,
if you are interested in finding out more about yourself and your own chart and the potential that
exists within your own chart, and I'm not just talking about the addictive potential, I'm talking
about talents and skills and, um, lessons to learn in this lifetime. Now, um, I offer natal chart
readings and I'd be more than happy to look into your own natal chart so that we can, uh, uncover,
uh, your hidden potential together. Uh, so please feel free to get in touch. Um,
thank you for watching. If you haven't subscribed, please subscribe and, um, I shall see you soon.
