After months of anticipation, a family visits a specialized restaurant in District 7 known for its unique take on crispy fried pork. The culinary journey continues at a nearby shop featuring honey-infused frozen yogurt and trendy treats. Throughout the excursion, different family members share their honest perspectives on the various dishes sampled.
Today my dreams are coming true.
I've been wanting to come to this place for 300 days,
right about that period.
I saw it, I want it.
Katsu 7.
This is a spot that specializes in tonkatsu,
like a fried pork.
I think they have chicken as well,
but I always like this dish
and I wanna see what a specialized shop can do.
So we're gonna try it.
I got the whole family here.
We're in District 7 today.
Let's see what the Katsu 7's about.
You're putting it off the table right now.
Okay, fantastic.
I love Katsu 7.
Okay, let's go.
Wow.
Jade, you sit with mommy over there, baby girl.
You sit there and then you can see Michael.
Yeah, look.
Look at that.
Eye contact, baby.
All right, let's see what they got.
You've never been here.
No, no, no, no, no.
I'm excited.
I do like Katsu
and I know this is like fancy Katsu,
so I just, I've been highly intrigued for a long time.
Whoa.
This might be why.
This place has great reviews.
You get a free cheese croquette
if you leave a Google review.
That's a good strategy.
It's a cheating strategy, but it works.
You don't get me every time.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'll take it.
It looks like you're not the only fusion chef.
No.
They made an Italian carbonara.
They made a carbonara udon.
Oh my God.
Who's stepping on my toes?
Is there another fusion chef in this world?
But this is what I saw before.
They had all these Katsus with cheese in them.
This is the intriguing part.
They get a cheddar or mozzarella.
Oh, a spicy onion chicken.
Oh, that sounds good.
It's really nice.
Oh, there's a lot of cool stuff.
Look at all that garlic.
Oh crap.
Garlic spicy Katsu, garlic chili.
What's the difference between garlic chili Katsu
and garlic spicy Katsu?
What is the difference?
Supreme original Katsu.
Supreme sweet chili Katsu.
Carbonara.
Oh, and they got soup too.
JD, they have spaghetti.
They do.
They have spaghetti.
Here, look.
Bring me to the spaghetti park.
Get you to the spaghetti park?
Here.
There's different spaghettis there.
What's this?
That one is squid ink spaghetti.
It says black noodles.
It says very spicy.
Maybe we can get it no spicy.
I don't know.
But it's also Japanese spicy,
so that doesn't mean much.
Can we get the gold Katsu?
Well, I mean, you can get a gold Katsu if you want.
They're one with cheddar.
Oh, get one.
Is there any spaghetti we can get no spicy?
Okay, look.
We're getting fries.
Bonus fries.
They're sweet.
Not sugar.
All right, Jay, so we can get one.
This one, we can get no spicy.
Is that okay?
Mm-hmm.
This one's a really thick noodle,
or we can get the thin noodle, normal spaghetti.
You want the really thick one,
or you want the thin one?
What's the thick one?
Thick.
They're very big noodles.
Is it very big noodle?
It's big noodle.
The French fries have like sugar.
They're like candy.
It's like a powdered sugar French fries.
Weird.
Oh, they're called honey fries.
You don't like the honey on there.
No, that's not good.
Yeah, the texture's okay.
But I keep trying to like them.
No, I know.
It's not my thing.
I'm going.
Trying more silver Katsu.
More garlic spicy Katsu.
The pork tenderloin.
Can we get the carbonara spaghetti, no spicy?
Come again?
Okay, how about this one?
Come again?
Okay.
Did you get the garlic chili Katsu?
Yeah, garlic chili chicken.
That's it.
All right, I got three.
If we want more, we'll order more.
Got soup, rice, pickles.
I don't know what this is.
Felt pepper.
No, not felt pepper.
It's so weird.
This is like a dryness.
Very funny.
Crunchy and sweet.
I guess it's a chili.
We only have one?
It's good.
That's good.
I like the pickle a lot.
Pickle's good.
Wow, this looks so creamy.
I don't know why they couldn't do the spaghetti.
Not spicy, but this is a udon carbonara.
Yeah, but it's the same carbonara.
JD, look at this.
What do you think, girl?
You got to share with everybody, okay?
I'm sure it's not.
Looks good, though.
You like it.
Wow.
That's a silver.
Yeah, that's a lot of cheese.
And I think you grate those sesame seeds up.
Come on, you.
A lot of garlic on here.
That's cool.
Let's see how spicy it is.
Spicy.
What did you get?
You got the chili or the garlic?
The chili garlic.
I think it's the same thing.
This just has four chilies on top.
I think that's the difference.
There was like a spicy chili,
and then there was like a chili garlic.
What do you think?
That's not spicy at all.
It's like sweet.
You want to try?
Huh?
Yeah, eat.
Yeah, it's kind of like a sweet, spicy tomato.
The sauce is spicy.
You don't like the sauce?
No.
Oh, really?
Oh, okay.
If you guys want more of this meat,
you can have the meat with no sauce on it.
Let me try this pork thing, though.
You like the cheese thing in there?
It's okay.
I don't mind the sauce.
Hey, between your sauce and cheese,
it's similar.
I think it's the same.
Really?
I think this one just has four chilies on it.
I like all the garlic.
It's like a sweet tomato sauce.
A little bit of spice.
I love all the garlic, though.
Black sesame.
Dressing, I think, for the, yeah, the coleslaw.
I like the chicken.
The meat's good.
The meat's cooked well, yeah.
Maybe we just want a different sauce.
Really well.
Yeah.
You like it, Trish?
Trish, you can get the check.
You can get the check.
Had a boo-boo.
What?
Oh, no.
Whoa, we got a lizard down here.
Oh, when I was little, I always had a lizard.
I put it on fire.
That one you eat?
Yeah.
I ate everything except for the lizard.
I was literally gonna make a joke, and you eat him?
We get a lot of these lizards around here.
They're kind of these, it's almost like a skink.
Oh, there he is.
There he is.
Now I see him.
He's gonna come to you.
There he is.
That's a cool lizard.
We get a lot of those lizards around here.
I always thought it was a rat pooping in my front yard,
because there's always little pebbles there.
But it's him.
He's got big poop.
They're cool, but I don't like the poop.
We're about to go to a really good frozen yogurt spot
just down the street.
I'll show you that.
And they have, like, special honey, like Manuka honey.
It's really good.
Really, really good.
All right, let's go check that out.
We'll get over there,
and we'll see what everybody thought about the Katsu.
Is this over here?
Yeah, the yogurt spot's over here, honey.
All right, let's see.
I think it's on this road.
It might be on the next one.
On the right side over here,
there's a purple boom ball spot.
It's good.
Yeah, this is it.
This is it.
Michael's driving Liam today.
There he is.
All right, here we go.
Bada bing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's it.
All right, you guys can pop off.
So this place is called Manuka Mi,
and it's really good.
I think we've been here probably three times now.
On the main road, that main road,
almost at the end,
there's a new purple boom ball spot.
It's good.
It's comparable to VS, too.
It might be the same level.
And they also have rice dishes,
and they have a couple more things.
And it's inside air conditioned, too.
So, you know,
if you're just looking for a different dish,
or maybe she's craving boom ball,
and you're craving rice,
then it's good.
It's so gigantic right here.
Yeah, I think you got that the first time.
Oh, they have the Dubai chewy cookie thing?
Crap.
I want to try that stupid thing.
Ooh, a choco affogato sounds good to me.
Good luck, I want good luck.
Good luck?
Good luck.
Well, it's going to cost you a lot of money for that luck.
Trey, do you want to get a normal yogurt one,
or do you want to get a fruity one?
Because, Jay, we're going to get a choco one
so you can pick the other style.
Okay.
Can I get a honeycomb, the Ceylon,
and a choco mi, Ceylon, I guess,
and one of those chewy Dubai cookie things?
Have you had a chewy Dubai cookie thing?
Is it good?
You think it's worth 55,000?
Okay, fine, I'll take it.
And look, we got, this place always advertises honey.
All the honey.
I always see honey.
I think they had a shelf before,
or maybe there's a shelf over there.
There was some shelf, because I remember almost doing it.
Dad, this is fake.
Yeah, you're right, it's fake.
But it just gives you an example.
I guess that's their to-go.
It's cool too, because they put it in the heat resistant
so it doesn't melt.
Pretty darn good.
Wow.
And this one mine?
Well, all of it is all of ours, JD.
We are sharing family.
All right, all right.
We got a chocolatey chocolate,
and you can see it's in these like thermos cups.
Yeah, insulated thermos cups,
so the ice cream doesn't melt.
So cool.
We always get a chocolate one,
and then this one's got the Manuka honey on it,
so it's really good.
And I got my cookie I've been so curious about.
That's a winner to me.
I like this so much, dude.
I can't let my kids eat all this.
It's not good.
Actually, I think I like the normal yogurt
with the honey.
The yogurt's so tart.
Yeah, yogurt with the honey.
Yogurt's so good.
This is a Dubai cookie.
This is like a Dubai Chocobar Mochi kind of thing.
You know what it is?
It's like phyllo dough.
Here, you wanna try?
Is it good?
You tell me.
It's supposed to be filled with pistachio
and shredded phyllo dough.
It's just flour and water and oil,
but it's just so thin.
It's a unique texture.
Texturally, it's fun.
Flavor-wise, it's okay.
There's not much going on in there.
Wait a minute.
How come I just checked out for a few minutes
and Jadie's just over here by herself just scooping?
Let Tree eat all of it.
Tree, you can eat all of it.
Really?
Yeah, I ain't gonna do anything to him.
You know, when you have a big belly, Tree,
and then when you do exercise,
and it's all condensed, it's in your belly.
Father and I are close to the same weight.
No, we're not.
Not even close to the same weight.
I think we are.
Can't be.
I'm like 175, 165.
175, 165.
I'm like 185.
Probably 185.
I hope 185.
I hope, I don't wanna go,
let's go 185, 175.
I think you're probably 165,
and I'm probably 185.
Maybe you're 170.
My parents are ready to come back a couple more weeks,
especially if we get this house.
That's a lot of money.
It's up to you if you wanna spend your money on that.
Okay, all right.
That's expensive honey, Jadie.
He wants it.
Jadie, you ate all that chocolate.
My goodness.
He ate a lot of chocolate.
It's good for your brain, Liam.
Which one, you gotta get the good pack?
That's it, nice, bro.
Good choice, good choice.
Thank you so much.
Come on, you.
Liam bought honey for his money.
He spent 40K on that.
He said he likes it.
He's gonna suck on it today.
Time for the review.
What do we think, gentlemen?
We're back.
We're home, and we're full.
Did you like it?
I loved it.
You loved it?
Yeah.
What was your favorite thing on the table?
The silver.
The chicken silver, the mozzarella pork thing.
Would you go back?
Yep, definitely.
What was your, give me a number on that.
Maybe eight five.
Eight five.
Liam, did you like it?
The noodle's just so good.
The creamy noodle, yeah.
I'll give it a nine five.
A nine five?
Was the noodle your favorite part?
Jadie, how about you?
Did you like it?
Me, yeah.
Would you go back?
Yeah.
What was your favorite thing on the table?
My favorite thing on the table was the french fries.
The french fries?
I'm full.
Okay, you have a point?
10.
Wow.
Tree, how about the honey ice cream?
Always go back.
It's a great thing I like.
Honey ice cream, yeah.
How about you guys?
Honey ice cream or honey sort yogurt?
Yes, really good.
I love the honey.
And a point?
A 10.
10, Jadie?
A 10.
I like it this shop.
I like it every item except for my toys.
How about a point?
Nine for five.
Thanks, honey.
I don't think my wife's gonna like it.
I think you're gonna get low scores from this lady.
Let's find out.
My love, did you like your lunch?
No.
Would you go back?
No.
Favorite thing on the table?
Oh, the noodle with mayonnaise sauce?
It's not mayonnaise.
It's carbonara.
Carbonara's cream.
I don't know.
Sweet, everything too sweet.
You got a point?
Six.
Oh, that's higher than I thought you were gonna give it.
Take her opinion with a grain of sand, too.
She was very distracted.
We were very distracted.
We're very, I think we're signing a contract
for a house two day.
And she's talking, so she's definitely distracted.
I was on the phone most of the time,
talking back and forth with the broker.
So I really, I just have no appetite.
But her opinion might be different.
If she was focused 100%.
For me, would I go back?
Yes, I would go back.
My favorite thing on the table
was probably just the quality of the fried pork.
That was really good.
I think the French fries sucked.
Actually, it didn't suck.
They were crispy, but the sweet,
it was like sugary French fries.
It was weird to me.
I didn't like that part.
The pasta was pretty good.
Creamy, very heavy.
So it's not a light meal in any way.
It was pretty good, actually.
I think the noodles, maybe even an eight.
The fried pork tenderloin bite.
You can choose the chicken, pork loin,
or pork tenderloin.
The pork tenderloin by itself,
pretty fantastic, actually.
Fried super well.
I really liked that.
It was really crispy.
It was light.
I mean, for a fried item, it was light.
It wasn't oily.
And it's a big portion.
$2.45 is expensive, but it is a big portion.
So three dishes fed my whole family.
So that's pretty good.
The cheese one I thought was okay.
I wouldn't get that again.
Probably not.
And the spicy, sweet tomato sauce.
It was fine.
It was good.
I think next time I probably just want fried pork.
I guess I'm an eight.
I would totally go back.
And the honey yogurt thing, that's like a nine, five.
It's amazing.
I love it so much.
I think that's it.
Anything else you want to say?
Oh, Liam bought some honey from that place.
There you go.
It's going to save that expensive honey.
Like and subscribe.
