If you didn't know I am a Miami native and I have seen this city completely grow up over the past three decades. Today I have teamed up with my friends at Wiivv to show you everything that's happening in Downtown Miami. This is my Downtown Miami Walking Tour!
I started off my tour by takin the metro rail to get to downtown Miami. This is the fastest way to travel there as you bypass all the traffic and keep walking.
We first visited Brickell Financial District where dozens of new skyscrapers have risen in the past five years. Next is Downtown Miami, the second oldest neighborhood in the city.
Here I show you three brand new exciting projects like, Miamicentral train station, Miami Worldcenter and One Thousand Museum which was designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid.
Finally we head to the Arts and Entertainment District to get a hard hat tour of Canvas Miami the first condo tour to be constructed in the area
I hope you like this informational tour of Downtown Miami. Remember when traveling you you walking with Wiivv!

This is 1000 Museum.
It was designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid
and it's an architectural masterpiece.
Hi guys, David Hoffman here from David's Been Here.
Today, I'm going to take you on a downtown Miami walking tour.
If you didn't know, I'm a Miami native
and I've seen the city grow up over the past three decades.
I'm going to show you what has happened
and what is happening in terms of construction and growth.
I've teamed up with my friends at Weave.
They make 3D printed custom fit insoles
that are digitally mapped from your smartphone.
All you need is the Weave app, a piece of blank white paper
and your bare feet.
Then you select the style and color you want and they print the insoles.
You get them delivered within 10 days.
Now let's head to downtown Miami.
When I have to go to downtown Miami,
I usually try to take the Metro Rail
as it takes me way less time and keeps me walking.
I personally try to walk 10,000 steps or five miles every day to stay in shape.
This is way better than driving.
Takes me half the time.
Welcome to the Brickell Financial District.
Brickell Avenue really began growing during the late 70s and early 80s
when a banking bonanza accompanied Miami's cocaine boom,
and it was all concentrated along Brickell Avenue.
Nowadays, Brickell is known as the Wall Street of the South
because it is the second largest financial hub in the US after NYC.
In the mid 2000s, Brickell went through a huge condo boom.
Over a dozen buildings were built and the population exploded.
Again, in 2014, the area went through another condo boom,
giving way to new skyscrapers like Echo Brickell, SLS Lux, Brickell Heights,
1010 Brickell, Brickell Flatiron, 9, Milecento, The Bond,
and the Brickell City Center, a huge mixed use 5,000 square foot mall complex
with two residential towers, two office buildings and the East Miami Hotel.
The most notable of the new wave of buildings is Panorama Tower,
currently the tallest building in Miami,
the tallest building in Florida,
and the tallest building south of Manhattan at 868 feet and 82 floors.
Despite its size, there are already plans for another handful of supertalls,
which means there will be at least 980 feet high or 300 meters.
Crossing the Miami River,
we enter downtown Miami. Along with Coconut Grove,
downtown Miami is one of the oldest settlements in Miami.
Urban development began in the 1890s when Henry Flyler constructed the East Coast
Railway. 15 years ago, this neighborhood was grimy and unsafe.
Now the area is exploding with new projects that are revitalizing the
neighborhood.
Here are three exciting projects that will change downtown forever.
First is Grand Central Station,
which will be home to the new high speed rail system called All Board Florida.
The high speed rail will connect Miami with Fort Lauderdale, West Palm, Orlando,
and eventually Jacksonville.
The train station will also feature lots of retail, two residential towers,
one office building,
and there are also plans for two supertalls at the southern end of the property.
Next door to Grand Central Station,
we have Miami's largest luxury project called Miami World Center.
It encompasses an area of 30 acres,
which will have multiple residential towers with the centerpiece being the 55
story Paramount Miami World Center.
This was once the grimiest area in Miami, full of drugs,
prostitution, and seedy nightclubs.
It has now been converted into a desirable place to live.
Right next door on Biscayne Boulevard,
we have an architectural marvel called 1000 Museum designed by the late Zaha
Hadid.
This is her first residential tower in the Western hemisphere and starting
prices are around $5 million. There are only about 80 units.
The tower will top off at 62 floors and 700 feet high.
It will also be the first building in Miami with a helipad on the roof.
This is 1000 Museum.
It was designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid and it's an architectural
masterpiece. Lastly, we're headed to the Arts and Entertainment District.
This is another area that was completely empty until the Adrian Arts Center for
the Performing Arts was constructed in 2006.
Almost every empty lot has been bought and developers are planning the next
wave of condos and skyscrapers.
We are going to visit the first condo tower in the area called Canvas Miami.
And that's right there.
Here we go. Here we go. Hard hat tour.
Estamos listos para subir aquí en Canvas Miami.
Oh, yeah. Going up. We're going to the 37th floor. That is not the rooftop.
That is the restaurant. Restaurant. Yeah. Okay. The pool is the ninth floor.
Yes.
We're on the 35th floor and we're going up to the 37th and that's where the
restaurant is. It's not the rooftop, but it's basically the rooftop.
There's nothing above it. Wow.
So the 37th floor is going to have a restaurant, 4,700 square feet,
looking over all of Miami, Arts and Entertainment District, Wynwood.
And as you can see, the view is incredible.
They're also going to have a pool right here on the rooftop.
And the next one, we could get down and you'll be able to go over to the balcony,
because we have the railings.
