DAY TWO in Dallas we woke up at the incredible Westin Galleria and decided to take the full day to explore Deep Ellum and a few more sights in Downtown Dallas.
Deep Ellum is a old warehouse district that is now being revitalized with restaurants, shops, breweries and street art. It’s right next door to Downtown Dallas. We first explore Deep Ellum and we ate at Pecan Lodge the best place to eat BBQ in Deep Ellum. It’s fantastic!
Up next we visited Dallas Museum of Art and roamed around the four floor building. My favorite part of the museum was the Asian/ African 3rd floor. After that we headed next door to Klyde Warren Park where there were food trucks and beautiful views!
For dinner we ate at the Oceanaire at the lobby of the Westin Galleria Hotel. We ate a lot of delicious seafood, from oysters, to lobster and so much more!

Hi guys, David Hoffman here from davidsbeenhere.com in Dallas, Texas. It's a
beautiful day here at the Westin Galleria and today we're headed to Deep
Ellum. It's a neighborhood known for its live music, street art, and barbecue. And
my friends here at the Westin Galleria told me I had to go eat beef ribs at the
Pecan Lodge. This place is one of the best places in all of Dallas to eat ribs
and usually there's a line on the door. So we're gonna go there now and then
after that we're gonna go to Clyde Warren Park. It's Sunday today. Every
single Sunday from 11 to 3 p.m. they have food trucks. Let's go.
So Deep Ellum is basically warehouses, lots of restaurants, bars, tattoo parlor,
lots of street art. I mean street art everywhere. It's nice. It's a little hot though.
Wow, that's cool. There's a photo shoot going on right now. You can see. Yeah, it's a
North Texas Photography Club. Okay. It's kind of a learning session for a lot of people. Oh, nice, nice.
It's like a full on model shoot. Yeah, that's what we thought. For ads. No ads or anything but it is, you know, these are a couple high school seniors over here.
So photography club here. Photography. North Texas Photography Club. Nice.
Yeah, this line. What do you think? 30 minutes? Hopefully.
Oh yeah? And there's a line inside? Yeah, there's a line inside. Oh my god. Okay.
Alright, I need a Deep Ellum brewing beer.
I'm gonna get the two meats plus one side. So pork ribs, brisket.
The brisket and the pulled pork or the homemade sausage. That looks fire.
Or the giant beef ribs is what we said it was the known for.
The line is so far just to order. You can imagine. We made it. We made it.
The food's ready. This looks so bomb.
Lena, you playing? Okay, so we're done here in Deep Ellum. The food there at the Pecan Lodge was amazing.
Probably my favorite barbecue of all time by the way. It was fantastic.
Art was nice but I mean basically it's just restaurants, bars and art.
So now we're going to the art museum next to Clyde Worm Park.
And yeah, I got into the air conditioning because I think it's like 90 degrees right now.
So this is the Dallas Museum of Art and we came here so we can get some air and my daughter can go to a little kids section they have here called The Nest.
They have four levels and what I'm really interested in seeing is the third level which is the art of Asia, Africa and the Pacific.
And it's pretty big this museum. You can see really big hallways. This is the Japan collection.
Right across the street from Dallas Art Museum is Clyde Worm Park.
As you can see right there, they have food trucks but I'm still pretty full from the barbecue we just had.
But wow, there's a lot of food trucks. I think it's like 20 food trucks here.
Alright, so we're done with downtown. We're headed back to the Westin Galleria and we're having dinner tonight at Oceanair.
The restaurant is located in the lobby of the hotel. They have a raw bar, steaks and seafood. See you tonight.
We're back. Westin Galleria. Home sweet home. Hurricane Irma is making landfall in Florida, passing through Naples.
Thankfully, Miami wasn't really affected too bad.
Okay, so tonight we're having dinner at Oceanair. It's a high-end chain. They serve seafood, steaks. They have a huge wine list.
And today I'm going all out with the oysters.
Wow, thank you. Six oysters. That sounds good.
You want a variety? The best looking one?
It's perfect. Yes, thank you.
And a fried calamari.
Oh yeah, I got you. Yes, ma'am.
Oh, thank you.
I love you.
Katama. Katama Bay. Cox Island.
And the half man.
We're definitely ready.
What should we drink of that? I don't know.
Scallop.
That was delicious.
Obviously from Maine.
Here you go. That's ginormous.
That looks so good.
Blueberry and white chocolate bread pudding.
Because we weren't fat enough. We had a lot of fish.
So they give you a steak night.
Oh my god.
Good girl.
My favorite thing in the whole place is this.
Oh my god.
Good call, babe.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
Oh, absolutely. Great to meet you.
It was a pleasure.
Pleasure to meet you.
We loved everything.
Awesome.
That's it. It's a wrap.
We binge-ate.
We ate barbeque and we ate a massive seafood dinner.
And now in all seriousness, Dallas, thank you for tuning in so well.
Bless the Galleria.
It's been amazing.
It's like our new home.
Go. Go. Gadget.
Look at her fly.
Keep going. Keep going. Keep going.
Keep going. Keep going.
Let's go.
