On this weeks episode we start working on what you've been demanding. We are making a custom Center Console for Camaros. We are starting with the 67, but the following years are right behind it. Join us as we go from idea, to building, to seeing it in a car. We also go over some other gadgets Harry's been inventing for your cool Muscle Cars. As always stick around to the end as we have our weekly Bible Study.
Hey guys, welcome this week to Studio Hot Rods Restoration Revelations. I'm Harry and you are in
the secret area of my shop where we do a lot of developments. I'm an inventor and I build a lot
of crazy stuff and what you're looking at here, right here, is our beautiful retrofit for a 1967
Camaro that we're almost done with. I'm going to show you what this one looks like in an original
car and what kind of parts and tools we've got to do to put it all together to actually come up
with that. It's going to be fun. You guys can build it at home. Check it out. If you're watching
our episodes, you saw last week, I was making that vacuum assisting pump and the relationship
where I mounted it right under the brake booster, right? You saw that? Well, Drew, if you haven't
seen it, go back and look at it. It's pretty cool. This week, this is what we built before,
made out of steel. Check it out. A 3D printed version that is now installed in my LT4 car. I
just plumbed it this morning myself. It's fun. I'm going to touch on some of the inventions of
cool stuff that we do this week. If you haven't seen our channel before, stay with us. You know
why? At the end, we do a Bible study. That's really cool. A Bible study actually changed my
life. As a believer, I like to share the word of God with you guys at the end. All right. Let's
get rolling. I think it's going to be a fun week. Check it out. Oh, yeah. Navigation, all the cool
stuff in an old car. Man, I love doing this. Let's go. Let's roll. All right, guys. This is a 1967
Camaro I built before I even had the hot rod shop. Look at it. Happy birthday, Tyler. No, it wasn't a
gift. He actually earned this car. My buddies in my garage all helped me build this car way back
2012, even before I had studio hot rods. Anyways, work with your kids. Teach them. They need to
learn from you guys, right? We're learning how to make consoles. Let's take a look at what an
original 67 console looks like actually in the car. See if we can rip it out of here. Actually,
it's propped. It's ready to go. Some assembly required. That's the way I gave my boy this
car to continue to work on. He actually lives in Nashville now. He used it for his wedding.
It was an awesome deal, but look it. That's the original console that came in these cars,
and I built these cup holders for the Chevelles, and everybody's asking me for Camaros and other
styles. So, hey, Jeffrey, do you mind grabbing that out of there for me? I'm just going to go
ahead and pull it out of there. It's such an easy little piece to actually remove and modify. So,
the trick is, what can we do with this thing and make it acceptable, make it cool, make it fun?
Have it have cup holders, some lights, some side lighting. I think we got it pretty well licked,
but let me show you the process of how we made the different parts and the components
and put it together, and then we'll put it back to the car after I assemble it and see what it looks
like. All right, this is Kyle. He's very smart. He's a very good engineer. I met him when he was
15. Probably something like that. Brought this crazy car in, him and his dad. What was that,
a little tight? Power wheels. You brought in the power wheels and asked me to make it go faster,
and I'm telling him, I'm like, no. How fast were you going at that time? It was like 40.
It was a YouTube sensation. What did you have, one more motor in there? Pressure washer, yeah.
A pressure washer, all right. Anyways, I said, if you want me to help you get better brakes,
I'll make it stop faster, but I didn't make it go faster. I think it was
dangerous, so I'll get out. Anyways, Kyle put himself through school. I got a lot of respect
for him, and we just have been working together on the projects, the ideas, so
seriously, a really gifted young man that helps me a ton, and we've been working together now so long,
he knows how I think, which ain't right. It's definitely not right in the head. Okay,
let's get to digging on this thing. Basically, what you have is probably, you got this here.
Let's look at the bottom side. You know, basically, all these bolts, Kyle,
don't you think that probably just holds that frame together, right?
Yeah. The metal frame.
This whole thing is plastic, and then we got this metal that bolts onto the top of it.
Just it sets like an exoskeleton sitting on top of it, basically.
It looks like it, yeah.
Even Bakelite, probably, right? Oh, it's 1967.
Yeah.
It could be. It's some form of plastic, ABS or whatever, but I don't know when they stopped
using Bakelite, but I remember that color. They didn't use a lot anyways to get to invent, right?
So, you know, we got to take all the bolts and the hardware out of here. I think what makes
sense is just scan it all up, Kyle, and give us a good starting point, right? What I'm thinking,
though, just in general, is just lose the door altogether. I think if we just lose the door,
this gives us tons of real estate. Now, maybe we could get like a compartment back in. I don't
know. We got to pull it apart and see what it looks like, but I don't know. Do we need an ashtray?
I don't think so. Anyways, why don't you scan it, put it together, and then we'll start talking
about cup holders. I mean, it should fit right here. Can you grab that part? Dude. You know,
two of these things.
Yeah, we can do a riser. We don't even have to cut into the console.
Like in our other one. Actually, there's probably a riser right there from our Chevelle.
Grab another cup. So, we make the Chevelle consoles, right? And we 3D print this part.
So, maybe we print a part that would be a riser that would go.
I know there's a lot of ways we could go about this, and I don't know if I'm going to love it
when we take it apart or not, but. And losing the glove box pains me a little bit. Maybe we
could have a secret compartment. Maybe it goes up. No, that'd be stupid. What we should do is
just scan it, and then maybe we'll just print one solid configuration that we finish, you know?
Do you want to utilize this door, or do you want to print a whole new section?
A whole new section. I hope it fits in our printer. What's our printer base?
About 13 inches.
You're going to be right. That's real close.
All right, so let's scan it. We'll take a look at it, and then I'll just pull the door off,
and then we'll try to make a drop in. That'll just drop into there, and we'll start there.
Maybe I'm thinking that the lighting, you know, our perimeter lighting,
going down the sides would be pretty too. Oh, yeah.
All right, because it looks like it's made for it.
If that can get sandwiched in there, that'd be perfect.
I know. That'd be cool.
Technology changes everything. All right, I'm going to let Kyle get to work on it.
It's really not that difficult, especially when you've got a lot.
So it's pretty cool. You see that? It's called scanning spray. I don't know why.
It's just called scanning spray, but it's got like a powder in it that actually evaporates,
but you can't scan black things very well with the cameras that are out of it today,
but the technology that we have the access to today in 2025 is so much better and so much
faster than it ever was before. I used to have a team of 15 engineers working for me.
I got one, Kyle, and he's a kid, but he knows how to use these tools,
and we are building some cool stuff. I love it because you can literally go from concept
to design to application to prototype in like a day or two. It's crazy.
What would have taken me weeks to do before, now I can get done in just a few days,
and we'll build it as a prototype. Now, this isn't a production version yet,
but we'll wire it up. We'll get it all laced together, and then we'll do the trial fit in the
car. It's going to be pretty slick. I think you're going to love it. Okay, and while they're wrapping
that up, I've got a car coming in. This 70 Chevelle is from Tennessee. The gentleman's name is Terry
Blade. He reached out to me. He's been buying like our door handles, a lot of the cool parts that we
make, and he said, Harry, you know what I want you to do? I want you to put all your bougie stuff
in my car. Come on. Let's go check out that car. It's cool. So here's Terry's beautiful 70 Chevelle.
So really pretty silver. It's got like a pearl in it. I don't know if you can actually see that,
but I really do like it. So we got the interior pretty ripped up right now, but
he is getting us to do everything. So not only is he getting the wave console in there,
he's getting the navigation and all the cool stuff. It's got the perimeter lights on the side.
He's going to have the turn indicators and the side mirrors, the bougie fiber optic lights on
the dashboard. This thing's going to be slick. He's got the front facing and rear facing cameras going
in the rear view mirror. It's really slick, but I got to tell you the one thing I really like about
Terry, he called me up and I haven't done this for anybody. I haven't been offering these services
like to do it, but he's a Christian guy. He's a believer. We're talking back and forth. And I
really don't know him at all until I met him through our YouTube channel. And he was, he's a
Christian guy. He's a believer, like I said, but he told me about his son. His son is autistic. He
can't speak. I'm like, oh man. He goes, but God's got a purpose. He sings like an angel. I'm like,
what? What do you mean? He sings like an angel. He goes, yeah, it's this is what he does. You guys
want to see it? Can I share it with you? Let's go. Let me play a clip. This young man. Wow.
It's crazy. Let's listen to him. Check it out.
How does he do it?
All right.
Is Logan talented or what? Isn't that crazy? You know, I was talking to Terry.
That's his dad. And he goes, he's our miracle. They go to different churches together. He sings,
they give their testimony. God's got a great plan for your life. I've always said that. And I'll
say it again. I think it's amazing. I can't wait to meet Terry someday. I will in heaven for sure.
But maybe he'll come up and see our shop at some point in time. Anyways, let's get back to work
one more time. This is the cool contraption that we 3d printed and made for the brake booster in
the cars. I made a bunch of them. I've been putting them in. Let me show you what it looks
like. It's pretty cool. Now in the black pearl, I'm going to actually have brakes. You know,
this thing has the LT4 supercharger in it, right? But look at this. Our whole brake system now
is beautifully mounted and set up in there. It goes on. It does its job. I'm going to do
some more driving on it. I'm working on, these are the valve coil pack covers that we're going
to be doing some really cool design work on right now. But I'm prototyping that in there. Actually,
Jeff's prototyping in there with my ideas, right? But it takes a while to build these things. Let
me show you one more car in Chevelle world. I love it here. I just get to play with cars.
It's not even like work. Did you know, if you love what you do, it's not really work.
I love this. Come on. This is Max's car right here that we're finishing up right now because
we've got to do some drive time on it for him. The 502 in there. You guys know 502s don't put
a lot of vacuum, but look at that was my first prototype. Check it out. It's in his car. We've
driven it. We know it's solid. We're just doing some fine work with the sniper and we'll get this
thing ready to roll out the door. Max, I can't wait for you to get your car out of my shop.
It kind of wraps up where we're at with the cars and the vacuum booster. By the way,
these are going to be on my website and available for sale. Probably get a little bit more runtime
on it maybe next week. I think you're going to really like those things. Anyways, let's get
back to see how the whole center console is coming together for the 67. Let's install it in the car
and see if it looks as cool as I think it's going to be. Nav in a 67 Camaro. All right guys,
let's just go ahead and light this thing up. Always good use of a DeWalt battery, right?
Stick it in there. I hope it stays. Okay, really good. We got the same CarPlay suite that goes in
the Chevelles, but this one's just a little bit smaller. You can see it's actually hooked up to
my phone at this point in time. So you have your nav, you got your phone, you got your messages,
you got my son Tyler. I love that stuff. Anyways, we got the perimeter lighting is done on it.
Fiber optic lighting is done. We got the cut-up holders. You can change the colors.
Again, this is probably going to go on my website. I might do something with the Prindle.
You see this? This is the Prindle. Park, reverse, neutral, you know, drive. They call it Prindle
because it just kind of spells Prindle. But anyways, this mount right back here is temporary
for now. We got to figure out exactly how we want to integrate it, but I figured we would just get
this prototype. Look at, see how this looks like wood grain in here? It's not wood grain. It's the
layers that are actually printed on these 3D printers. So as the printhead moves away from
the surface, actually, as the surface moves away from the printhead, it steps it up. So it looks
like wood, but it's not wood. It's actually going to have to be sanded. It's going to have to be
manipulated, and then we'll paint it to actually match like it came from the factory. That way,
one question I have for you guys, should I make a secret compartment? Are people going to not like
it or love it? The fact that it's just there? I just feel like you lose your glove box. Anyways,
let me know in the comments. That's kind of cool, right? All right, let's go put it in the car and
see what you think. All right, guys, what do you think? It's in. It is on and in the car. I'm so
excited. I love the side lights. I love the way the cup holders look. This is going to be a great
product. My son got a bonus. Man, I tell you what, 61 years old and still just playing with the cars.
I love it, but every time, the best part of the episode is always going to the Word of God,
and we're going to go to the book of John today. First John, it talks about God being light.
It's pretty cool. Let's go. Lights, God being light. Come on, let's tie it together.
All right, guys, always the best part of the episode to me is sharing the Word of God with
you guys. Again, I'm going to tell you the reason I do it is because I got in a Bible study
with a bunch of guys, and we've been reading the Word for about seven years together, and it's
really helped change my life and life perspective, how you think about things and how you look at
things. It's not so much about worrying about everybody else. It gives you a good perspective
to think about who you are, right? Because that's really what matters at the end of the day.
You want to change the world? Start with you, right? Do something good. Look at Terry.
You know, the guy's got a beautiful wife. He's got an autistic son that's got a beautiful gift,
and he calls him his miracle, right? I mean, I don't know that everybody has that beautiful
wisdom that, Terry, I'm really proud of you. That's an amazing thing, and I can't wait to
meet you. All right, guys, let's get to reading the Word of God because you could read the same
thing multiple times, and depending on where you're at, it can mean something different. It's
the living Word of God. Anyways, we're 1 John 1, right? That which was from the beginning,
that we have heard, that we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked, and with our hands
we've touched. This we proclaim concerning the Word of life. So what John's talking about there
is the Word of life is like, you know, God became flesh in Jesus, and then he spoke to us. It was
the Word of life. So he's saying he's testifying about who Jesus is in this. The life appeared.
We have seen it, and we testify to it. We proclaim it's you in the eternal life,
which the Father has appeared to us. We proclaim to you that we have seen it, and you've heard it,
and that you also may have fellowship with us, and our fellowship is with the Father and with
the Son, Jesus Christ, who we write to make our joy complete. Oh, this is the cool part. It's
called walking in the light. This is the message we've heard and declared to you. God is light,
and in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him,
yet walk in the darkness, we lie, and we do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light,
as he is the light, we have fellowship with one another, as the blood of Jesus the Son purifies
us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of the sins and purify us
of all unrighteousness. If we claim to not have sin, then we make him out to be a liar,
and his word has no place in our lives. To me, what that means is, like, you ever have somebody
that wrongs you, or do something wrong, or you ever have somebody that does something goofy in
your life, and you, like, deny that you did it, or you don't, like, admit to it? I think what
John's writing about here is, like, Jesus, you know, other than dying for your sins and giving
us a way to have eternal life, really wants to have that relationship with us and wants to be
reconciled. We're all going to make mistakes. We all got problems. We all got issues. I am
first in line. Heck, I'm reading about David in my Bible study right now, 2 Samuel. Dude,
there's, like, more giants. It wasn't just Goliath. Anyway, I love the Bible. There's,
like, cool stuff in there. But back to this. What this says to me, what it says to my heart,
what it says to me is, like, be reconciled with your relationship with Jesus. You know,
he loves you. He died for you on a cross. He paid for your sin. You are going to go to heaven,
not because of good works, not because anything you do, but because you've committed your life
to follow in Christ. And, you know, being righteous, I think, is about striving to do
what's right in the eyes of the Lord. And when you got the word in you, it makes you
just think of things different, see things different, maybe act a little bit different.
Let me share that with you. I love it. This same verse means many different things to me
as I've read it over the years. And I would just like to share it with you because I really do
believe with all my heart that there is no darkness in God. And we shouldn't claim that
we have this perfect life because we don't. I don't. But God's got a great plan for yours.
Look at, you know, look at Terry's son. Isn't that crazy? He's got big, huge, beautiful plans
for him. Hey, guys, if you need a Bible, reach out to me. I will send you a Bible for free.
Just let me know. I got no problem with doing it. I'm still working on the online car show thing.
Please be patient with me. It will happen. I think. I believe. Anyways, got to walk in faith
sometimes. Peace out. Great week. I love sharing the inventions with you guys. And
hopefully I'll see you next week. More cool stuff.
