I am going to show you what a typical Balkan breakfast looks like. I brought two friends of mine, one from Serbia and the other from Bosnia.
We headed to Europa Deli in South Beach. We tried four typical dishes, Cevapi, Gibanica, Sarma and Soska Salad.
Cevapi is minced meat with some spreads. Gibanica is a cheese pie. Sarma is boiled cabbage stuffed with cheese and rice. Soska salad is one of the most traditional salads found in the Balkans.
Europa Deli also has typical chocolates from all the countries in the Balkans. They also have delicious Turkish coffee.
If your in South Beach and yourself craving balkan food, head to Europa Deli!

Hi guys, David Hoffman here from David's Been Here.
Today I've teamed up with Sunglass Warehouse to show you what a typical
Balkan breakfast looks like. Unfortunately we're not in the Balkans,
we're here in Miami, but I'm taking you to an amazing place
called the European Deli here in South Beach.
I'm also bringing along two friends of mine, they're Balkan girls, one of them's
from Serbia, the other one's from Bosnia. We're gonna
eat some burek and some other traditional Balkan dishes.
What's up guys? Hi, how are you? How are you doing?
How are you?
What's up? Hi.
Very good, I'm ready to eat some burek.
I'm ready for cevapi.
I know, I'm ready for all of it.
I'm so hungry. We've been discussing it last time
before we went to sleep, we were so excited to eat.
Yeah? Yeah.
Yeah, it's funny because you can't find that at all here.
I mean, this is the only place that I've found.
I didn't even know they have.
Let's go. Awesome.
I mean, it's so picturesque, you know.
I mean, when I learned about Mostar, I was like, man.
You know what I mean?
I didn't really know about it.
So here we have three typical Bosnian dishes.
Here we have cevapi, it's delicious.
And here we have sarma, right?
Sarma.
So it's a boiled cabbage with meat inside.
I think they have on top some yogurt.
Or sour cream, it could be either one.
Yes. Thank you.
Oh, this bread. Amazing.
Perfect.
Hi, guys. My name is Ana, and I'm from Serbia.
And I'm Azra, and I'm from Bosnia.
And we're going to try some Balkan food
in Miami.
So these are cevapi.
They're like little minced meat barbecue items.
There's kaymak, which is a cheese spread
on the side.
There's ayvar as well, which is a pepper spread.
And some onions.
And this is kibanica, which is typical Balkan food.
We usually eat it for breakfast. It's stuffed with cheese.
And it's very similar to burek,
which is more known.
And this is sarma.
It's basically boiled sour cabbage
stuffed with meat and rice.
And it's pretty intense. It's a Balkan staple.
Traditional food, but it's
really heavy and wintry, so
good luck.
Okay, so let's dive in.
So, what do you like the most?
I like all of them. I just make them all.
Is the spicier one right here?
It's not that spicy. It can be spicy.
It can be spicy? Maybe here they don't make it too spicy.
The kibanica is so good.
That's like going back to Mostar.
I know, it's so good.
Kibanica.
That's amazing.
It's very, like,
tastes like Serbia.
Yeah, it's funny because people think it's easy,
but this is actually really difficult to make with all the layers.
Yeah, it tastes like your mom's.
Like when she makes it.
Oh, this is fantastic.
In Sarajevo, I went to a place that only
makes, like, pies. They have all of them.
Oh my god, it's just like this.
Alright, so here's the main event, the sarma.
This is a winter dish.
This is when it's, like, freezing outside.
But,
it's summer here in Miami.
This is amazing.
Is it good? Yeah, no, it's really good.
So it's meat with rice, right?
It's funny because it
feels almost like a Greek dish
in a way. Tastes more Greek.
And this bread.
This is, like,
typical here. Is it good? Yeah, yeah. No, I'm sure it's good.
So right here, we have the sopska salad.
This is typical in the Balkans.
Usually in Serbia and Bosnia, they have it
on the side with their meal.
In Bulgaria, we start the meal with this
and a raki.
Unfortunately, there's no raki here, but...
Alright, let's try this, girls.
That was so good.
Are these Balkan?
Yeah.
They're buying Serbian
sweets. So what are these?
Let me see this.
This is the one you were telling me is Serbian, right?
Yeah.
It's amazing.
And then you have the euroblok, which is equally amazing.
And then
sembananica.
Coffee, yeah.
It's amazing. It's Turkish.
Like, we're making Turkish coffee.
So if you like Balkan cuisine
and you're here in South Beach, come here to European
Deli. They have delicious Balkan food.
What do you girls think?
We approve.
So what was your favorite dish, I guess?
The gibanica.
For me, it was the
cevapi because I love cevapi.
It's not really breakfast
food, but...
