Hi everybody! Welcome back to my channel. So today's video is going to be a whole lot of decorating.
So I'm going to be going around my house and redecorating areas after the holidays. Just
areas that felt a little bit bland and I'm going to be doing a huge bathroom makeover. I cannot
wait for you guys to see it. It should be a really good video so I hope you guys enjoy and let's just
get into it. Okay so we're going to be starting out with the bathroom because instead of just
decorating this room we're actually going to be doing a complete room transformation so I'm really
excited about it. So this is what our downstairs bathroom looks like right now. We have not done
anything with it since we moved in. It's just really plain. It's very gray on gray on gray
and I decided you know what it's time to finally do something about it. So this part of the video
is actually sponsored by Lowe's because I knew if I was going to take on a bathroom makeover
Lowe's would have everything that I needed. So I went ahead and headed to my local Lowe's store
because I wanted to look at some of the items I had been looking at online in person and I decided
that I wanted to change out pretty much everything. I wanted to paint, get new fixtures, a new mirror,
just all of the things. So here's a little sneak peek of some of the things I picked up for the
makeover. Now I'll also have a QR code on the screen as well that you can scan and it'll bring
you to a link to everything I mentioned in today's video. So first I'm just going through
and taking down the old mirror and all of the old fixtures. There was nothing wrong with them but
like I said everything was just so gray. So the walls, the floor, the fixtures, and I really just
wanted to add a little bit of color. So speaking of color I felt like the most impactful thing to
do in this room would be to paint and I decided I wanted to go with a blue color because I just
love decorating with blues and I will say right when I opened up this paint can I was like uh oh
did I just buy the exact same color gray to paint my walls? Am I going to spend all this time
painting for the walls to just be slightly more blue? But have faith I promise once the color
dried it is the most beautiful dreamiest blue color and I'm so happy with it. So this is the
color Morning at Sea by Sharon Williams and I got my paint and all of my painting supplies from Lowe's
as well. I actually got this paint kit too from them which was amazing. It had a couple of rollers,
it had a paintbrush, like everything I needed to get the job done. So this is what the blue looked
like after it dried and as you can see it's a huge difference and I do love it but I wasn't blown away
at first and I think it's because the old fixtures were still up. So now we're going to go in and take
down this old light fixture which I'm not sure how long this had been up but this bad boy was stuck
to the wall. So the first thing I got for the room makeover is this gorgeous vanity light from Lowe's.
I love the brushed gold finish on it and I just really love the shape of it. I feel like it's a
little bit feminine, it's a little bit industrial, a little traditional. I just thought it would fit
the fit the space perfectly and it's actually the first thing I picked out and then it kind of
snowballed all the other choices that I made and I just I love this light. Now moving on to the mirror
so originally I picked this out because I loved the arched shape of it and I also liked the wood
tone however I didn't really take into account how tiny our pedestal sink is and I don't think the
mirror fit the sink size but thankfully Lowe's makes it so easy to shop online through their
mobile app and then pick up in store so I was able to quickly scroll through the mirrors and find one
that was in stock drive over and swap it out and I ended up choosing this gold circle mirror instead
and I just feel like it fits the space perfectly. Now I also picked up this three-piece hardware set
so it came with a towel bar, a toilet paper holder, and a towel ring which I loved because everything
matches and it goes perfectly with the faucet. Now for the faucet I went with this beautiful brushed
gold finish and I think it's from the same line as that three-piece set so I knew that they
you know were this exact same shade they would go perfect together and I feel like it really just
you know finished off the whole look.
Okay now even though this is a really small half bath and nobody's taking showers in here
I did still want to use the towel bar that came in the set because I feel like it's just so pretty
so I decided to put it above the toilet and then I added a couple of extra hand towels
and I figured the hand towel that's on the ring by the sink will be the one we use to dry our
hands and then these two can just be like decorative pieces.
Now I did have a little bit of trouble styling this shelf so I used one that I just already had
around the house I think I like thrifted this forever ago but I didn't really think about the
fact that it has a lip so when I went to go put stuff on it like everything that I intended to
put up there wasn't really fitting so for now I just added a candle and a frame and I'm thinking
I want to find like some cute or funny bathroom phrase to print out and put in the frame.
So now it's time for the decorative pieces so I really just shopped around my house I had a bunch
of extra decor that was in boxes or in the garage in random closets I also had this little plant
stand that I thrifted a while ago. I feel like I've tried it in a bunch of different areas around
the house and it never really looked that great so I decided to bring it in here and I love it
I feel like the wood tone looks perfect with the blue walls and it added just like a little bit
more I guess counter space or just area to put something which is nice since we only have the
pedestal sink in here. Okay now before I show you guys the after here's one more look at where we
started and here is what it looks like now I am so so happy with how it turned out I seriously
don't think I could love it anymore I'm so proud of it every time I go in here I feel like it's
not even my house I feel like it was such a quick and simple room transformation and it really was
all thanks to Lowe's so if you guys are interested in anything that you see make sure you check out
the link in my description to shop all of your home needs keep in mind you can buy online and
pick up at your local Lowe's or you can get free shipping on orders of $45 or more or you can even
get same day delivery on eligible in-stock items if you order before 2 p.m. I feel like this was
just such a great way to start 2026 because now I feel inspired like I want to do all the home
projects and decorate every room now so we'll see where that leads us but thank you so much
to Lowe's for sponsoring today's video and let's get into the rest of the decorating okay so the
next area we're going to be redecorating is my living room and I'm not going to be doing the
whole living room but this side specifically was the side that I super decorated for Christmas we
have the mantle which had the big garland on it and then also this is where the big Christmas tree
goes so without all of that it's just feeling so empty so I wanted to go ahead and pull that
chair back out that I usually have in this spot and put it back and just redecorating this area
and making it feel fresh and new for 2026 now I know I've mentioned this little tip before but
if you haven't seen it I have this really big basket here that I thrifted and I use it as
storage for toys but I also use it as a decorative piece and as a side table so if you also have a
chair like this where not a lot of people sit at it but you know occasionally people will come over
and if we have a lot of people it will be used I love having this basket here because it looks
really pretty but people can move the florals and put a drink down and it works as a side table and
storage as well now I'm just going to be cleaning off the mantle and taking down the little hooks
that I had to hang up the garland it is so weird how white and blank this area looks it's funny how
we don't hang garland on our mantles for most of the year but for some reason when it's up for just
a month and I take it down it feels like something's missing like there needs to be a garland
up there year round it just felt so blank and empty so I wanted to add a vase and some florals
and some little trinkets and just help it feel a little bit more homey so the next area that we're
going to be redecorating is the kitchen and as you can see it was a little bit messy but really
after I took down all the Christmas decor it just felt very blah in here the decor that was left
over was all beige and it really blended in so what we're going to be doing is taking down all
of the old decor also deep cleaning the area so I have a fresh start and then I really want to
go into it with fresh eyes to redecorate sometimes I just go straight in with my decor and move
things around but I've found recently that if you take all of the old decor out just absolutely
all of it even if you know you're going to keep it in that area if you take it all down and you
have a blank slate it really helps you be creative and maybe think of new areas and places that you
want to decorate also really quick in the middle of filming I remembered that I had to get this
cake in the oven because it was my sister's birthday and she asked if I could make her
birthday cake for her so I figured I would go ahead and include it in here now I am not a baker
by any means this is like the one time year that I bake I did a cake for her 26th birthday that
I'll put on the screen here and then today was her 28th birthday and I was just winging it but
you know what I'm really proud of how it turned out she wanted a heart-shaped cake and really
simple and feminine and I think it turned out pretty cute okay so I rounded up some of my decor
items that I had put away during Christmas time and just brought them back on the island so I
could see a little bit of what I had to you know keep in mind while decorating now I know a lot of
people are doing winter decorating videos right now I'm gonna be honest I don't own a lot of
winter decor I pretty much just have you know my year-round decor which is all of this type of
stuff where it kind of leans a bit springy or I have Christmas or fall and I didn't want to have
to go out and buy like winter decor for the sake of the video so today's video is definitely gonna
lean a bit more springy but that's just because I don't really own any winter items these are
really my everyday items okay so the first area that I'm going to be decorating is this little
corner area and now this is where we always had our coffee maker but if you watched my Christmas
decorating videos I talked about how it was kind of a pain having the coffee maker back here because
to put the water in it we would have to like move it out and it was just a pain in the butt
so when I did my Christmas decorating videos I actually moved the coffee maker to a different
area well after having it in that other area for the last month or so it just it didn't make sense
it didn't fit that area so we're bringing it back to the corner however with a slightly better idea
so I'm going to be putting it on this tray and it's actually worked out perfectly it makes sliding
it out to put water in it a little bit easier but the coffee maker just fits the best in this corner
so this little area is one of my favorite parts of the kitchen I have this little plate wall with
a bunch of thrifted plates now you'll notice there is one missing I'm not sure where it went
like I'm like a plate did not get off of the wall and walk away so I don't know what I did with it
but what I've been doing is just moving them around so that the bottom one is the one that's
missing because I've been putting this lamp here which is the perfect height to disguise it and
this lamp was actually also a thrifted find and I feel like it just fits the space so well
okay so as I was filming this video there was multiple times where I was trying to style
different areas based on how to cover up the outlets or the cords like in that corner area
where I put the coffee maker I always talk about how I put cutting boards there to hide the outlets
and in the middle of decorating I was thinking wait why do I not just get new outlet covers I
don't know why I've never done that so I actually and this part of the video is not sponsored but
I did run out to Lowe's really quick and pick up new outlet covers oh my gosh this made the
absolute biggest difference out of I feel like anything I've done with this kitchen
I cannot believe how much better the kitchen looks it was such a simple swap and I'm sure it sounds
so silly to say but if you're someone who also hasn't switched out outlet covers that were there
when you moved in oh my goodness please switch them out because this looks so nice the kitchen
looks cleaner and like brighter and I don't know fancier I'm so happy that I did this I do not
know why it took me so many years now since it's 2026 I thought it would be fitting to ask about
new year's resolutions I know some people really aren't into them I'm somebody where I actually
really like new year's resolutions but maybe it's because I don't put a lot of emphasis on them I
just like the idea of having a fresh start so I'm interested if any of you guys have any new
year's resolutions if you want to share them below in the comments I know for me personally I
definitely want to be to be more organized and stay organized but not only with my home but also
in my brain so I want to really figure out a system that works for me as far as to-do lists
and getting things done around the house and the season of life that I'm in sometimes it can feel
so overwhelming that I have you know to clean the house and to do the laundry and to do the things
for the kids and to make dinner and to make a youtube video and then also help the kids with
homework and then the kids have a field trip and it sometimes it feels like there's too much stuff
in my brain so I really that is my resolution is to really get organized in life and figure out a
system that I don't know just helps me stay on top of it all so that is pretty much it for today's
video thank you guys so much for being here I hope you love the bathroom transformation as much as I
did I still cannot believe that is my bathroom and the kitchen I'm really proud of actually I did
I didn't keep any of the same like decor and arrangements in areas that I did in past years
so it's like a totally different look and I love I love how everything turned out I'm just very
happy with it so I really hope that you guys enjoyed watching thank you so much for being here
leave a comment down below if you made it all the way till the end and if you haven't subscribed
