If you're in the mood for something cheesy, meaty, and just plain satisfying,
then this recipe is just for you. Because we're turning a loaf of garlic bread into
a hearty one-pan supper with seasoned beef, marinara, and lots of melted cheese.
It's simple filling and absolutely delicious. So let's make it up.
Now what I got here is a loaf of garlic bread. I bought this at the store and it's really cheap
and it works out well because you pull it out of the package, sorry for the rattling and riddling,
and open it up, it's already buttered and everything just absolutely perfect.
So I'm going to slip this into the oven at 375 Fahrenheit for about 8 to 10 minutes
just to get a basic bake on this.
While that's baking up, I'm going to go into the old cast iron pan with a pound
of medium ground beef and we'll grab up the old breaker upper thingy
and just break this up a little bit and we'll stir and fry this until it's basically no longer
pink and cooked through. Now I'm calling this a breaker upper thingy because I really have
no idea what to call it but people seem to like that name but you know, leave me a comment.
After about 8 minutes, going to pull our garlic bread out. We got a little bit of a crust on
there and that's exactly what we want. So we'll just let this cool for a few minutes.
Alrighty then, our beef is basically done here and we don't have a lot of grease so we don't
have to drain it. So I'm going to shove, as usual, everything to one side here and I'm going
to go in with a small chopped onion and as always, three cloves of the old chopped garlic.
Just stir and saute this just until that wonderful,
wonderful aroma of onion and garlic fill the air.
After a couple of minutes, everything is smelling wonderful.
I'm just going to mix everything together and like I keep saying in every video or just
that's the beauty of a cast iron pan. Got so much room to work with.
Next off, we're going to season things up with a bit of salt. It's always salt to taste.
About a good teaspoon of the good old ground black pepper.
And because I love this stuff so much and we are a bit on the Italiano side here,
so I'm going to go in with a good heaping teaspoon of Italian seasoning. Maybe a touch more.
A tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce that I just love for that depth of flavor.
And half a teaspoon of paprika and that gives it kind of that earthiness.
And this is the smoke. That's what I always use.
And last but not least, half a cup of some good marinara sauce.
Just give this a stir around until everything comes together nicely.
And actually guys, this is smelling good right now.
And the reason you might be saying, Dave, that's not a lot of marinara sauce. Well,
no, it's not. But we want that garlic bread to kind of tuck in there.
We don't want it all soaked up with sauce. So this is going to believe me,
this is going to be perfect. At this point in time,
our garlic bread is cool and it is looking and smelling good.
So what I'm going to do is I'm going to cut this into,
oh, I'd say about inch and a half chunks, something like this.
And then we'll just grab this up and we'll just kind of tear it off.
That's we get some good rustic chunks in there. Oh, this is going to be so, so good.
OK, we've got everything mixed together here now and it is looking good.
And if you do find, you know, if you say it's too dry for me,
you can always add another tablespoon or two of marinara.
What I'm going to do now is kill the heat.
And then we go with a cup of mozzarella, something like that.
And then another half a cup of mixed cheddar.
And you can use straight, plain old cheddar if you like.
And we'll mix everything together until this kind of melts down in there.
Wow. Look at this, guys.
Then I'm just going to drop that garlic bread over top of everything.
Now, you can push these down a little bit, guys,
but I don't want to do too much because I kind of want that rustic effect.
And I think it's looking good right the way it is.
So we are going to go over the top with some more mozzarella.
And I've used about a cup and a half in total here.
One cup in and mixed it together.
Then the other half a cup or so over the top.
And you don't want to cover this completely
because you want that rustic bread sticking through some of that meat.
But you do want that ooey gooey pull on it.
So this is looking good, probably right about here.
And to really finish things off,
I'm just going to spray a little bit of the old parmigiano over that.
Now back into the oven we go, or into the oven we go,
for about 25 minutes until everything is warm and bubbly.
Well, we're making up there, guys.
My usual thing, the weather check.
I mean, just look at it.
I mean, I want to cry.
It's April 8th and it snows covered the ground again.
I don't know what is going on.
I don't know.
I just want to hide in a cave somewhere.
Anyway, just let me know.
I hope it's warm and sunny down your way.
After 15, 20 minutes, guys, we are looking good and bubbly.
Just look at that garlic bread.
Nice bake on it.
Everything looks perfecto.
Next up, what I'm going to do is garnish this up with some fresh basil.
Now you can use parsley or whatever you like, but I just love basil.
So I'm going to use basil.
And there she be, guys.
Our cheesy, meaty garlic bread bake.
To me, this is absolute perfection.
Everybody is going to love this.
All right, guys, let's dig in here and pick some of this up.
Just look at this.
Got the garlic bread, meat, cheese.
Oh, my goodness.
A meal for a king or queen.
All right.
Now the old taste test.
This is really, really good.
I mean, the garlic bread, the garlic bread is really good for store-bought garlic bread.
To combine with the cheese, the seasoning we got,
even the basil adds that nice little extra touch.
You are going to love this.
And if you do make it up, leave us a comment because I love to read them.
