Using my Wahl A-line trimmer, I'm going to begin my bald line and drop it towards the back.
I'm going to keep this line a bit lower than most, since I want to do a lower fade.
Then after removing all the bulk, I'm going to follow up with my Wahl Vantage shaver and bald everything out.
Remember to not go directly to the line and leave a bit of stubble underneath the line.
This will make it a bit easier when fading in that bald line.
Then to start off the fade, I'm going to use my 1.5 with the lever closed and go up about 2 inches.
And in the back, I'm going to be going up just a bit higher than the sides, spreading out the fade a bit more.
Then without switching guards, I'm going to open the lever and flick the 1.5 line into the bulk.
My client wanted it a little darker towards the top.
Then using my thinning shears, I'm going to soften everything above the 1.5 area.
Then I'll do the same thing towards the back, but I'm only going to soften up what I need to, as I will come back to it and blend it all together later on.
Then using my half guard with the lever closed, I'm going to go ahead and work on the bottom part of my fade.
And I'm going to make this guide line all around about a half inch in width.
Then without switching guards, I'm going to open the lever and blend in that line I created with my half closed.
I'd like to point out that personally, when I'm using my clipper and I want to fade into some bulk, I'm doing more of a flicking C motion, or flicking out.
When I'm dealing with the lower part of my fade, I'm mainly rubbing my clipper on the line, but I'm doing it gently and not digging too deep into the scalp.
And then I'm going to go back and use my thinning shears once again and detail the fade a bit more.
Then using no guard with the lever closed, I'm going to gently and lightly just flick on the line, avoiding going too high.
If I create a line as I'm moving up, I'm making sure I'm lever playing and opening the lever to remove it.
But I'll do my best to stay underneath the .5 area.
If the bald line isn't fading as well, you can go ahead and use your trimmer to fade it out.
Now for his C-cups, I started off with the lower part and then created the upper part of the C-cup and connected both of them together.
Then I'll line up his vertical bars, keeping them as natural as possible.
And now for his beard fade, I started off with my .5 with the lever closed and went down about an inch.
Then I opened up the lever and faded in the line that I created with the .5 closed.
And here I'm using the corner of my clippers to detail the fade to get specific dark areas.
Then I'll follow up using my trimmer.
Then using my thinning shears, I'm going to go ahead and detail the fade a bit more.
Then using my trimmers, I went ahead and cleaned up his neckline.
And then using my straight razor, I went ahead and sharpened up his beard line.
And here are the final results.
