Good morning guys! Welcome back to today's video. I just walked outside and look what
I found. Yep, you're probably thinking those are bugs Laura. They are bugs. Bugs. Yuck.
These things always end up in our house if I don't try and kill them. Awful. Sam sprays them.
The only thing that can kill them is soapy water. So he comes out and he sprays a couple times a
day but they only come out when it's hot. Anyway, welcome to today's video you guys. Every night
Sophie goes down and checks the chickens to see if there's any eggs and we don't need to go down
there because they already have food and water but I always go with her just because I love
doing animals with her. Nothing. Nothing. No eggs. I'm kind of grateful that our house is on a hill.
Do you guys see that big puddle down there? That whole section down in front of the gate is soaping
wet. Who is that screaming? Lola. Why is Lola screaming? Does that new that she's screaming?
Because she doesn't normally scream. Do you not remember when we brought her down to the barn?
I know. It rained all day. I mean like record amounts of rain. Sometimes I look outside
and this little boy pig is just like running and doing flips in the air. He does piggy zoomies
still. Go inside. Go inside. You're just so cute. So we're getting ready to shave our boys
and our girls. We're going to shave everybody this year. I'm going to take really nice pictures of
them but last year we shaved Nico because we were going to take him to a show. Then we discovered
that you can't show boys. There's maybe one show in all of Ontario for boys but and but we were
going to take him to a show so we shaved him. It was too early and he was freezing so we decided
to wait until it's for sure warm. I hate a gloomy day. It was windy. All of our goats sound like
they're dying now. Yep. Yay us. These babies have learned bad habits. My friend told me yesterday
that her goats have like she has a better relationship with her goats because she milks
them. Not me. I milk Lola and she's like wants nothing to do with me now. Whoa are you humping
me? Oh my girl. Ow. Hi. So my sister was here yesterday. I told you guys and she brought her
grandkids. We put eggs out. Oh my gosh those little kids were so happy about the eggs. Like
they couldn't believe it. They think they pulled one over on us or on the Easter Bunny because they
told them that we never come down here to check for eggs. But my sister who's kind of a clean freak
was sitting here and she had a lap full of goats. They just were all surrounding her
and she couldn't believe it and I love that. I love that our goats are so
I love that our goats. I love that our goats are so friendly. Especially our babies get off my head.
Ouch. Yeah that's not fun. Oh Tilly's staring at me. Like how dare you do that to my baby.
She gets so mad. She won't even look. She's like I will not even look.
Stop chewing the cord. Oh my gosh. I can't even film.
I can't even film with these babies on me. She's mad. Look at how mad she is. In fact
that goat is awful. Oh my god. Tilly's babies are awful. I like me some nice quiet sane goats.
Just some nice gentle goats but these ones are not sane and gentle. But you guys you know what?
Sylvia and I both noticed that Tilly's two have adopted these two little black girls as their
best friends. So they're always together. Oh my god. Honestly. Pretend you are normal.
It's pretend. Pretend you're normal. Holy cow. This is what friendly goats are like.
Lola's goat. Don't you even jump on me. Don't. Oh my gosh. Lola's babies are the least friendly
but they're still friendly. Like they're normal friendly. They're like Lola. They'll come up to
you if there's no drama but they're quiet. And then Winnie's babies are the same. They'll come
up to you but they're not crazy. Yeah you guys are cute. Yeah we're ready. You're missing your
breakfast. You missed your dinner. Uh oh. That's a lot of goats. Go eat. Oh no you're bleeding.
See the top of his horn is coming off too. You guys see it?
All right Toby. I'm gonna go up and get hay. Come on. This way. This way. Come on. In. Come on.
There you go. Uh oh. You're not going in the right direction. I don't know.
I opened the gate and then some ran. You got two of the right babies.
Excuse me Missy. You're in the wrong stall.
I got one of the right babies. Come here. You gotta go with your own mom.
That's why we wait to take Lola to the end. Come on. You gotta go with Lola's babies.
Come here. Grab one the other way. No just leave it. Okay. I'm gonna run up and get hay.
Okay it's daily check-in time. Nine days Missy. Hi. She's like I know what you want.
She's looking different. She's got good ligaments though. I'm excited. I keep on trying to dream
what she's gonna have. I cannot dream it. I don't see it. Nothing. Like I have no idea
what she's having. I have dreamed that she has one baby that looks like her
and it's possible she only has one baby in there.
Well hello. Peeping Tom. That's a girl. Hi. Do you guys see him? Oh there he is.
He's like I knew there's a party over here. Hello baby.
They like it. See how quiet and calm they are while she's holding them up there?
And the last girl. I know the goats the babies are crazy you guys. Absolutely crazy but do you
guys notice a difference? Like it seems like her babies it seems like her babies are starting to
drop into the right position. It probably takes a while. She's starting to look skinny in the back
end. That always gets me. I always start to think oh my gosh what's going on? They're gonna give
birth and they're gonna be so skinny but really it's just the baby's dropping into position.
Right now she's still high. She still has them pretty high up there.
You can see but you can see kind of at her bottom end that angle right there will change
and it'll get really she'll get really like kind of bony there because the babies will drop down
into position and then it'll be time. And there's another udder pick. We haven't shaved her udder
yet. Her udder believe it or not is itty bitty. Sophie does that so you don't think she's pregnant?
I've never said that. Sophie does not believe that this goat is pregnant. Actually I've never
felt her babies. I know she's pregnant. I said she doesn't have an udder. She does have an udder.
She used to just have a flat skin. Now she has a little sack. She's like a little sack. You can
always have that. No different than that. She has breast tissue in it. You have to you have to feel
them all the time. I'm always out here feeling everything. Come here little girl. I want to feel
your babies. She has five weeks left. Sophie thinks she's going to have two her first time.
How many is she going to have? That's the magic question because we have to she's going to give
birth and then we have to wait a whole other month for her. It's nice that she had all this
extra time to grow and and get bigger and stuff but I mean all of our babies this year this past
year have been really wide and really good and a few of our goats are really starting to shed out.
You can see like in this section here how her hair is different than the top. It's really much
longer. I don't know if it's because they're they're pushing on stuff like rubbing up against
the fence or something with their back end but they're really shedding out and uh or maybe it's
well and Lola's doing the same. I was gonna say maybe it's like postpartum hair loss because
that's the thing at least for me but this little goat isn't postpartum yet and she's really losing
her hair. Hello. It's funny how like Tilly's mean to everyone but not to the chicken.
Sophie said she can't be mean to the chicken. The chicken's meaner than her.
But honestly I'm so glad that the weather's starting to turn. I feel it feels like what we
get is we get winter and then poof summer. We hardly get a spring.
Grouchy. What the heck Pose?
Just lay beside him. He takes all the covers and she hates it. I know I love her too a lot.
She is gonna be such a cute goat. She just chills too. Yep she's nice. That one's annoying. I don't
like it. Sophie always does this thing. You always do this thing where you're annoying. You always
hate my goats. You take the ones that you like and then you don't like. I don't like that one
either. Oh I like him. He's so cute. He's quiet and calm like his dad. Yeah I don't like that.
I like crazy goats. Well then you should like her because she's not that crazy. She's so crazy and
he is so crazy. I said because he jumped out. He got on your bad side just because you had to come
down to the barn an extra time. Look at her. She does that thing where she walks on her back legs
and it's so cute. There's no more food. So and it's neat because I'm getting to see like a baby
Tilly. Like she is a baby Tilly for sure. She's she's she's quiet. She's crazy.
Oh he's looking nice. Look at how wide these goats are.
He's like come on mom. Where are we going? Every day. Every day it's him. Come on Lola. Over here.
I feel like she's happy to be away from them now. Come on Lola.
Stop. Thank you. I mean she goes in willingly. Yes I'll put your mom away. Right over there to
eat her hay. So one of my friends goats had a baby today and it was big. Not as big as she looks
like it but it was it looked like twins. Had a single seven pound baby. We don't want that.
It's possible though. That's how she ended up. He stumbled on top of the blankets.
It's grass is getting green. Only horse at the feeder. Penny girl. She likes to eat alone.
Everybody else is out there trying to get little bites of grass. To be honest though I don't know
like what do we do with all that hay? She wants to she wants to come over to me but it's too muddy.
Sam drives the truck in here to put the hay in. I'll come and brush you. You want me to brush you?
She's telling everybody to get away. She thinks I have food. Hi. I didn't bring anything. I have
to go get you a carrot. You want a carrot? She won't ever come to the gate if she's like the
if there's a big crowd. She only comes when when she's alone and she's protecting. She's like go
away Gracie. Oh you're sweet girl. It is muddy but a couple more hot days. It's gonna rain again
tomorrow. It's we're getting like record amounts of grain. Like more than ever. Rain not grain.
We're getting records amount of rain. Everything is a mess. Muddy. Gross. My girl is old you guys.
She's older than her age. She's 20 years old but she was ridden for years in the mountains.
It's okay. Nobody's coming. Don't worry. You don't have to protect me. You don't have to protect
your rights to me. If you stay here I'll go get you a carrot. Okay? This way. I'll go get you a carrot.
But honestly she's really old. Like riding in those mountains. Carrying people through the mountains
in the states. She like worked hard her whole life. She was worked hard her whole life and her
old owner told me that and she was 16 when I got her. So I've had her for four years and she's
she's getting old. Like she's aging faster than like Storm who has had a pretty easy life. She's
at the point where well she's waiting for me. She's at the stage where every winter I'm like oh
is it going to be a good winter? Because winters are hard on horses with arthritis.
And she always rallies and she's always okay. But I know like one winter is going to come and
I know I'll have to make a hard choice and say goodbye. Hopefully it's not anytime soon.
But definitely before five years is up. Thank you for waiting for me. You want a carrot?
Yeah you like it? You know I gotta share Penny. I can't just give you carrots.
I don't know where Storm is. Oh there he is. Gosh quick take a bite. Quick. Storm's going for a
drink. This is how I be fair. I throw it to Gracie. She didn't see it. Shoot. Everybody be looking
rough though. Super muddy. Super wet. Look at you. What are you thinking eh? They are loving
this warm weather though. Like it's warm. And anytime the rain stops they lay down.
Except for today. Penny didn't lay down at all. Neither did Storm because
it was wet. It was wet all day. Yeah such a handsome boy. Did you know you're a movie star?
Did you know you're a movie star? Yeah. Sam already has stuff over here. He's getting ready
to fix some fences. Anyway it's just sad thoughts. Like I always think about how
she is old for her age and it just is how it is. And I knew that when I bought her and
I'm wouldn't, I don't regret any single second of my life with her. And for the last year,
maybe last two years, she's really had like a good rest and I feel proud about that. I feel
proud that she's like been pretty much retired and just living out the end of her days. Being a
horse and just having love and affection. Being able to rest and relax when she wants to.
