You are not getting any younger. The only way to slow down this process
is by eating certain superfoods that will help you protect your eyes and retina naturally.
Today, I'm going to share with you one of those foods, but it is not for everyone.
And before we get started, if you have never seen my videos before,
I am a posture specialist and a movement specialist, so let's get started.
The seed that you need to eat every day to protect your eyes and retina is called the chia seed.
Chia seeds contain high levels of two nutrients, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants.
This tiny seed has been shown to prevent dry eyes, improve blood flow to the eye,
reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration and cataracts,
and even reduce intraocular pressure, which is important for glaucoma prevention.
Studies show us that people who consume more omega-3 fatty acids have better eye health.
Some studies also suggest that people with dry eyes may benefit from taking omega-3 supplements
because it can improve oil production in nebomian glands, therefore improving the symptoms of dry
eyes. And now that to take a tablespoon of chia seeds and soak them overnight,
or for at least two hours in some water. You don't have to soak them longer than that.
After two hours, the seeds should be completely dissolved in water and ready to be consumed.
Now I recommend consuming these chia seeds in the morning on an empty stomach so that you are able
to absorb all the nutrients better. Soaking the chia seeds increases their nutritional value
by making the antioxidants and the fatty acids more available for your body to absorb.
Plus, the gel that is formed after soaking can also make you feel fuller for longer,
which can aid in weight management. Chia seeds are small, about the size of a sesame seed,
and they're usually sold in grocery stores and health food stores.
They come in different colors, white, black, and even sometimes gray.
But no matter what color you choose, they will still have the same great benefits.
If you don't like the taste of chia seeds, then you can always add them to smoothies without
anyone knowing. Or you can add chia seed pudding to your daily diet. It's easy to make.
Just take the soaked chia seeds and mix them in a bowl with milk, yogurt, fruit, and a bit of
sweetener of your choice. Let it sit in the refrigerator for at least two hours so that the
chia seeds can absorb the liquid and form a pudding-like consistency. It's a delicious and
healthy breakfast that can keep you full until lunchtime. But remember, these seeds are not for
everyone. People who have allergies to sesame or flaxseed should avoid chia seeds. Plus,
if you have a nut allergy, there's a chance that you may also be allergic to chia seeds.
Although rare, chia seed allergies can cause hives, itching, swelling of the lips,
tongue or throat, difficulty breathing, and even anaphylaxis. So if you have severe allergies,
please make sure to speak to your doctor before adding chia seeds to your diet.
Also, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should consult with their health care providers
before consuming chia seeds on a regular basis. Now, if you think that eating just chia seeds
will solve all your eye problems, you're wrong. There are other factors that play a role in
maintaining good eye health, such as genetics, over all health and lifestyle habits. For example,
smoking, alcohol consumption, lack of exercise, and a poor diet can all contribute to the
development of eye diseases. These factors are within your control, so you should always try
to maintain a healthy lifestyle. That includes regular exercise, a balanced diet, and avoiding
bad habits. Also, if you already have a disease, eating chia seeds won't reverse the damage that
has already been done. So you must always follow your doctor's advice when it comes to treating any
medical condition. If you're worried about your eye health, it's important to visit your doctor
regularly for comprehensive eye exams. Early detection and treatment of any issues can help
preserve your vision and prevent further complications. So remember, eating chia seeds
can be a great addition to a healthy diet, but it's not a miracle cure. There are many other
nutrients that are essential for maintaining good eye health. Vitamin C, for example, is an
antioxidant that helps protect the eyes from oxidative stress and inflammation. Foods rich
in vitamin C include fruits like oranges, strawberries, and kiwi. Vitamin E is another
antioxidant that can help protect the eyes from damage caused by UV radiation. Foods rich in
vitamin E include almonds, sunflower seeds, and spinach. There's also vitamin A, which is important
for good vision, especially in low-light conditions. Good sources of vitamin A include sweet potatoes,
carrots, and kale. Besides vitamins, minerals are also important for maintaining good eye health.
For example, zinc is important for overall eye health and helps transport vitamin A to the
Seafood, nuts, and beans are all good sources of zinc. Omega-3 fatty acids are also important for
eye health. These fatty acids can help reduce inflammation in the eyes and improve blood flow
to the retina. Fish, flax seeds, and chia seeds are all good sources of omega-3 fatty acids.
Eating a diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein can help ensure
that you are getting all the nutrients you need to maintain good eye health.
Besides a healthy diet, there are other things you can do to maintain good eye health.
For example, it's important to wear sunglasses that block 99 to 100 percent of both UVA and UVB
rays when outdoors to protect your eyes from the sun's harmful rays. You should also avoid smoking
and secondhand smoke, as tobacco smoke contains chemicals that can harm the eyes. You should also
be aware of your family history of eye disease and be sure to talk to your doctor about any
concerns you may have. Remember, maintaining good eye health is an important part of maintaining
your overall health. By making positive lifestyle changes and eating a nutritious diet, you can help
protect your eyes and maintain good vision for years to come. So eat your chia seeds every day
to protect your eyes and retina naturally. Speaking of protecting your eyes, did you know
