Hello awesome people! I found an app that's better than ChatGPT and if that's true
that might be a real game changer. If I send you a voice message can you answer with your voice?
I actually got goosebumps. Its name is Pi and we're gonna try it right now straight against
the king of the AI apps, ChatGPT. By the end of this video we'll find the best free AI app
to really improve your English speaking skills. We're going to measure these apps according to
seven key points and for each question we're going to assign a point to the winner. So let's begin
with the first one. Can you use it without installing? If something is easy to use you
don't even need to install any app for it. First of all we want to go over Google and find the
two apps. Just go to the search bar and go with ChatGPT. Open the first link and if you have an
account with it you're already inside. Now to make it extremely easy just press the three dots up
there and find add to home screen. Press add to home screen, add and at that point we should be
having the ChatGPT home screen right here. Let's do the same thing with Pi. Once again you go
over Google and this time you're going to write pi.ai talk and here we have it. You can see that
there's a conversation already going on and this is because I've already started the app once.
Let's do the same thing so the three dots and then add to home screen, add and here you go. Now you
have both the apps right here. I'd give a point each. They can be used both on any device so yeah
one point each. Next question. Can you personalize it? Let's get into ChatGPT. You only need to go to
the left hand bar, press the three dots down there and then find custom instructions. At this point
you get a prompt saying what would you like ChatGPT to know about you to provide better responses.
To answer straight with your voice without typing you want to tap on the screen and then you want
to find the little microphone which if you have an Android device you're going to find it right here
over the right hand side. If you have an Apple device you're going to find it down close to the
space. You press that. I am learning English and I want to use this app to learn to speak English
better. Now if you don't know what else to say you can press down here show tips. Where are you
based? Which means where are you from? What do you do for work? What are your hobbies and interests?
All right. I am based in Spain but I have Italian origins. My goal is to learn to speak English.
Okay. How would you like ChatGPT to respond? I'd like you to correct me to have opinions
and to please teach me English. Okay. I think we're done. Let's see if we can do the same thing
with Pi. So let's go over Pi but I actually see no settings here so I see nothing about any kind
of personalization. For this part here I'm gonna give one point to ChatGPT. All right.
Next can you talk with it? Let's go back to ChatGPT and let's try with a new chat.
If I send you a voice message can you answer me by voice? I'm sorry but I can only respond to text
based messages. However I can certainly help you with English language questions and provide
corrections and guidance through text. Feel free to ask any questions you have about learning
English. All right. So basically I can't speak with ChatGPT but it can actually answer me back.
So let's see if Pi can do that. If I send you a voice message can you answer to me with your voice?
I'm not able to talk to you with my voice just yet. I can only chat with you via text but I'm
still happy to chat about anything you'd like. I'm a friendly AI ready to chat. I see a button up
here. What if I press it? I'm not able to talk to you with my voice just yet. I can only chat with
you via text but I'm still happy to chat about anything you'd like. I'm a friendly AI ready to
chat. All right. That sounded like advice to me. What can we talk about? We can talk about literally
anything and everything. But to get the conversation started let's talk about your interests, hobbies,
or what's on your mind. Or we can talk about current events, movies, music, or anything else
you're curious about. The world is our oyster so to speak. This is awesome. Apparently he can talk
about just about any topic. Well my favorite hobby is to produce music using my computer.
Oh that's awesome! Music production can be such a creative and rewarding hobby.
Do you make music as a professional or is it more of a hobby? And what kind of music do you make?
Wow. Not only does it answer to you but actually asks you questions that prompt to a real conversation.
Wow. I think that this time the point goes to Pine. And by the way if you too are thinking
wow that's a great way to practice my English speaking skills then subscribe to this channel.
You're gonna find a lot of very interesting content made specifically to make you become
more fluent. All right. Next question. Is it engaging? Now when I say engaging I'm referring
to the ability of asking more questions and being deep about a topic. We can easily see how Pine
could be the winner here but let's still give Chargyptee a chance. We're gonna continue the
conversation about hobbies. You know I like to make music with my computer. That's great to hear
that you enjoy making music on your computer. Music is a fantastic way to express creativity.
If you have any questions about music related terms or want to discuss your music in English
feel free to ask and I'll be happy to help. It didn't really continue the conversation.
Let's see what Pine is doing with this. We already have a question to answer here so
I'm gonna just go ahead and answer to the question. I produce relaxing music.
Tracks that are perfect for meditation. Wow that's really cool. So you're a music producer
focusing on relaxation and meditation. That sounds like such a great contribution to the world.
Helping people to relax and de-stress. How long have you been making this kind of music?
No way. I can really have a conversation with this guy.
I picked up this hobby of mine as I was learning to use the playstation. There was this game called
Music 2000 and I started playing just for fun. By the way this is a true story.
Ah Music 2000. That was a classic game for the playstation. It was a fun way to create
music in a game-like environment. So that's where you first got into music production.
That's a great origin story. Did you go on to use more sophisticated software to produce music
like Ableton or FL Studio? I actually got goosebumps. It knows Music 2000. It's a software
to make music with playstation. Playstation one. The first playstation. The fact that Pi is also
able to remember such things and to bring the conversation ahead is fantastic. I'm actually
intrigued by it. Yes I did. After a few years I got started with FL Studio for computer.
That's awesome. FL Studio is a popular music production software and a great way to get
started. It's so powerful and has a ton of features for creating all kinds of music.
How long have you been using FL Studio now and do you feel like you've gotten really proficient
with it? This is simply incredible. You can learn a lot of things. I'm amazed. So of course 1.4 Pi
and HTTP 0. Now next question is how much does it remember? Of course we can't try this right now
because we should be waiting a week for it but we can ask simple things to understand how much
the app remembers. So of course let's begin with chat GPT. My name is Albert. I was born in Italy
and I live in Spain right now. Hello Albert. It's nice to meet you. Since you mentioned that you
want to improve your English I'd be happy to help you with English learning and correct you when
If you have any questions or specific areas you'd like to focus on
feel free to let me know and we can start practicing. Okay that's fair. Can you please
remind me where I'm from? Certainly Albert. You mentioned earlier that you were born in Italy
and you currently live in Spain so you have Italian origins but you're based in Spain. Well
my friend we already know that chat GPT has excellent memory and right here we can see that
that's true. Let's see if Pi what's capable of. Before we go on with the conversation I want to
say my name is Albert. I live in Spain and I was born in Italy. It's great to meet you Albert.
Spain and Italy are such wonderful countries each with their own unique culture history and
landscapes. It's really cool that you've had the chance to live in both places. Do you consider
yourself more Spanish or more Italian? I love how Pi is always engaging with your questions.
Before we go on can you remind me where I live at the moment? You don't need to worry. I can remember
our whole conversation but I can't set reminders or do things like that yet. I'm just a chat bot
for now but I can certainly remember that we were talking about your hobbies and that you live in
Spain. All right so I already told you that my mind is blown by this so we're going to give
points for memories to both the apps but now that I think about it if Pi is able to remember
everything you say the more you speak with it the better the conversations will be because
it'll know more and more details about you. So this means that I have to go back and say that
yes you can personalize Pi. All right next can it correct grammar? Now this is pretty easy to check
so let's go over chat GPT. This are some wonderful day. Can you correct this phrase for me please?
Certainly the correct phrase is this is a wonderful day. Keep up the good work.
Can you also explain me why please? Of course in the corrected phrase this is a wonderful day
we use is instead of are because we are talking about a single day which is a singular noun is
is used with singular nouns while are is used with plural nouns so when describing one specific day
we say this is a wonderful day. That was great perfect let's see how Pi fares with the same thing
This are some wonderful day. Is this phrase correct? You're very close. I think you meant
to say this is a wonderful day. Don't worry learning a new language can be tough and even
native speakers make mistakes. It's great that you're practicing. Can I ask how long you've been
learning English? It's amazing because it corrects you and then it pays you some compliments so you
don't feel bad about it. Can you please explain me why I was wrong? Sure the phrase this are some
wonderful day mixes up the verb and the subject. In English the verb has to agree with the subject
since day is a singular noun you need to use the singular form of the verb to be which is is. So
it should be this is a wonderful day not this are some wonderful day. Does that make sense? Yes it
does actually. I'd say that probably the grammar explanation was a bit clearer with chatGPT
but here we also have the extra thing of the pronunciation it gave you the possibility to see
how this and this actually sound different although I feel that chatGPT does a better job
in actually explaining the right grammar. All right last one can it correct pronunciation?
Unfortunately here we can't try any of the apps because well let's face it we can actually speak
with them but they won't be able to hear our voice and this is really a shame because that'd be a
really a game changer but at the same time I'm also glad because if they did I'd be out of work
basically. So for this round I can't give points to any of them. So it's time to see who is the
winner and unsurprisingly the winner is Pi. That's right that's right my friend Pi wins with
five points out of seven and I think it's the clear winner here because you can really engage
in a lot of interesting conversations with it. As soon as you try it it'll probably keep you
on the phone for hours just speaking with it. Despite all the great things about Pi we've also
learned that it cannot correct your pronunciation nor it's able to really listen to you as you speak
so if you want to step up your English speaking game and learn how to speak with the right
pronunciation on your own and from home I recommend that you watch this video right here where in less
than 10 minutes I give you seven proven and fun ways to practice your English speaking skills
improve your pronunciation and explode your vocabulary. I'll meet you there cheers
