🔥 Don’t forget to HYPE this video to push it up the leaderboard! Let’s see how high we can go! 🚀
Right, here we are guys. We've got the one pound Chinese donuts. We've got the Khao Soi.
We'll have a look. Of course, we'll have a look.
What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Michelin rated food?
Fine dining, luxury restaurants, hefty price tags? Well, not today.
In this video, I'm going to be taking you on the cheapest Michelin food tour of Bangkok,
starting with Jok Wan Table Shrimp Dumplings. Now, luckily for us, Bangkok offers a plethora
of Michelin rated food spots for under a fiver. Imagine that in England. It'd be 30,
40 quid, mate. In this video, we're going to be travelling all over Bangkok to sample some
of the city's finest food spots. Let's go. Right, here we are guys. Jok Wan Table. Let's
sample some of them tasty shrimp dumplings. Sawadee krap. Can I try the shrimp dumplings,
please? Just one portion, please. Kop kun krap. Right, 100 baht. Here we go. Look at this.
Absolutely incredible. That's about £2.50. And look at this, Michelin 2021. Amazing, mate. £2.50
for a Michelin rated meal. Right, let's sit down at this little table. This is what I love about
Thailand as well. They just have these little tables amongst the street food spots so you can
just sit and eat your food and then carry on experiencing the madness of the city. Kop kun
krap. Thank you very much. Right, here we are guys. We've got the shrimp dumplings. There's
about eight dumplings in there for literally 100 baht. That is absolutely insane. Right,
here we go. We've got some sauce here. Not actually sure what that is. I think it's soy
sauce. I'm guessing so. I can't really eat these dry so I'm going to put a little bit of this
sauce on. Whatever it is, hopefully it's soy sauce. Who knows though? I mean, it must go with
the food otherwise it wouldn't be here. So let's get a little bit of that. Yeah, I think it is soy
sauce. Get a little bit of that on there and let's try one of these dumplings. So we've got a bit of
crispy onion going on there as well. Absolutely sublime sir. And then we've got some, I think
that's mint. I'm pretty sure it's, is it mint? I'm not too sure. But anyway, let's try one of these.
Let's get a bit of crispy onion there as well and let's get some soy sauce.
Oh my word. Honestly, that is absolutely delicious. There's something else inside as well.
Kind of tastes like, maybe like chicken. I feel like in Thailand, a lot of the time when you order
shrimp dumplings and things like that, it comes with shrimp and chicken as well. Maybe just to
beef it up a little bit. Pardon the pun. Beef it up. Wasn't even that funny. You know what? Normally
I don't really like crispy onions, but it works so well with these. Oh wow. I've come quite early
in the day as well. So it's fresh. It's just been made. Aloi Mak as the Thais say.
Mate, a hundred baht for eight dumplings. This comes out at about 30p a dumpling for
Michelin rated food. This is why I love Thailand, man. I don't think this is mint. I think it's
either coriander or parsley. I can never remember which one is which taste-wise, but yeah, it's
definitely one of the two. Thank you very much. Mate, I nearly did an accidental dine and dash
there. I nearly walked away without paying because I was just so focused on the food. I
wasn't even thinking about paying, but yeah, a hundred baht, mate. Absolutely incredible.
And would you believe it guys? The next Michelin rated spot is but a one minute walk away.
What are the chances? It's almost as if I planned it that way.
So what's the very first thing you need when you touch down in a new country? Is it a cab to your
hotel? A bite to eat maybe? Well, how do you expect to do that without any data? And that
is exactly why eSIM.io exists and why they're sponsoring this video. If you don't already know,
an eSIM is basically a SIM card just without the physical plastic card. Sound complex? Don't worry.
It's actually very simple. You just download the app from the app store or the play store,
follow a few steps and bosh, you're online. No fuss, no nonsense, and no waiting. As you guys
know, I'm in Thailand and my internet started working before it even got off the plane. And
what really sets eSIM.io apart is the one SIM feature. Now you don't need to install a brand
new eSIM every single time you cross a border. Planning to jump from Vietnam to Japan? Just
download the regional Asia package. You can even set it up before you land and instantly, as soon
as you land in that country, you've got access to the internet. Staying connected whilst on the move
has never been easier thanks to eSIM.io, making travel far less stressful and way more convenient.
So the next spot we're off to is called Pa Tong Go Savoy. And basically they sell these lovely,
fresh, hot Chinese donuts with pandan sauce. I've tried them before, but never Michelin rated. So
let's go there and see what they're like. Right here we are guys. Pa Tong Go Savoy. Let's see
how much these pandan donuts are. Right. Okay. 50 baht. Boy, that's not bad. I think they're
all 50 baht. Mate, I'd pay even more than that. That is not bad at all. 50 baht. There we go.
Michelin rated 2018. So yeah, they're not traditional donuts. They don't have the hole
in the middle. They're like just, yeah, long, long sort of, kind of like yum yums, I suppose.
And then you've got this green pandan sauce. I think it's pandan and coconut milk sauce. So
perfect. One portion, please. Oh, there we go. Fresh and hot as well. Best to come in the morning
to these places because you know they're going to be made that day and fresh. Thank you very much.
Right. Here we are guys. We've got the one pound Chinese donuts and we've got the pandan sauce.
Let's give it a little dip and let's give it a little taste. No mucking around. Let's get
straight into it. Here we go. I want a lot of this sauce as well. Oh, look at that, mate. Here we go.
Oh my God. Mate, that sauce. I love pandan. I'd never even tried pandan before I came to Thailand.
It's absolutely incredible. Even just pandan cakes themselves rather than sauce. Incredible.
But that sauce. Oh my God. This is absolutely insane. They're not hot donuts, but they're warm.
So they're definitely fresh-ish. You know what I mean? Probably made within the last half an
hour, two hours. So that's fine. These are 100% better than the ones I tried before.
I'm pretty sure the ones I tried before were like 120 baht and these are 50 for five pieces
and the sauce. Mate, get in there. Right. I think the best course of action is just to carry on
eating and power through. Because if I sit down and relax, I'm just going to go into a food coma.
So I need to hurry up and just crack them all out. Just one after the other.
Right. We've had to come to the main Chinatown strip to find Nai Ek Roll Noodle. Every single
time I walk past this place, it's absolutely rammed. I don't even think it's like 10 in the
morning right now. What's the time? Yeah. It's like quarter past 10 and it's already packed.
So hopefully I can get it to take away. I don't really want to be waiting in that queue,
but if I have to, well, I suppose I have to. You know what I mean? I've just got to control my
impatience. So yeah, hopefully I can get to take away as I said, but if not, we'll just sit in
there. So this has been Michelin rated for two years in a row. And what people normally get is
the peppery pork broth with rice noodles. So let's give it a go. Can I get two takeaway?
Takeaway? Yeah. Okay. Right. Here we go. Roll noodle soup. 70 baht mate. That is calm and
it's recommended. I think that's definitely what I'm going to get. One roll noodle soup,
please. Two takeaway, please. Small please. Oh, there we go. Look at that hot and fresh.
Mate, that looks incredible. It smells amazing. Honestly, I wish you guys could smell it. I wish
there was smell-o-vision because you'd be loving it right now. I bet the soup is going to be
amazing as well. Look at that. All that thick, fatty pork broth. Mate, looks incredible. Popcorn
club. Thank you very much. Right. Here we go, guys. Look at that. Right. Let's find somewhere
to eat this now. I've got no idea how I'm going to eat this because look at this. It's all in
bags. So I'm just going to have to pour the soup into one of the other bags and just try it like
that. It's going to be very, very difficult. I genuinely don't know how I'm going to do this.
Probably should have just eaten there. Right, guys, I've managed to do it. It took me genuinely
about five minutes. It's roasting hot. So you've got the broth, you've got the noodles and you've
got the pork. Let's try it. Right. Let's go for the broth first. Have a little sip of that. Oh,
look at that. I can't even show you because it's going to spill, but right. Let's have a bit of
this. Oh, my God. That is simply heavenly. Oh, wow. You can really taste the fat. It's so like
thick and savory. Lovely umami notes from that broth there, sire. That is a bit of me.
Absolutely love brothy soups. I'm definitely more of a broth person than a soup person.
I'd rather have a chicken broth or whatever than like that thick, creamy chicken soup.
A hundred percent. Right now, let me try and navigate this and try some of the pork and
the noodles. I really don't make it easy for myself, do I? Jesus Christ. Right. I'm having
to balance it on my leg. I'm literally sat at like a cash point booth here. There's no
seating anywhere. That's how we do it, though. That's exactly me. Just a bit rough around the
edges. Right. Let me get a bit of noodle and a bit of pork. Here we go. Right. Let me try and
keep that on. Oh, go on. Wow. Honestly, that pork instantly just explode in my taste buds there.
Absolutely incredible. Made for 70 bar. It's like £1.75. I don't even think it's that.
Look at the portion size as well. That's a small. Right. The bit of pork I got wasn't crispy. Let
me try a bit of this. I think that's like crackling. A bit of pork crackling. Let's try a
bit of that. That is so much better. Yeah, it's pork crackling. You can hear it's literally
crunching in my mouth. Oh, my God. Guys, honestly, probably one of the best broths I've had in
Thailand. Full stop ever. No wonder it's ram 24-7 and you can't even get a seat in there. That is
absolutely delicious. Right. So next up, we're off to ICI Bangkok in Bang Rak. So we've got to get a
boat from Ratchawong Pier to Sathorn. I've no idea how much it's going to be, but this cafe
does loads of creative desserts. Whatever that means. Who knows what a creative dessert means?
Does it mean the design? Does it mean the ingredients? I guess we'll find out. Right.
Here we are, guys. The Ratchawong Pier. Now, we've got to get the boat two stops to Sathorn. Now,
these boats are a lot smaller than the one I went on the other day. Look at that.
They're like pedalos almost. I'm not really sure where to buy the ticket from. Probably
just on the boat again. Let me ask. Sawadee krap. Sathorn? Okay. Thailand?
Okay. Is it this pier? Okay. This one just here. So 21 baht for a two-stop ride on the boat.
Not too bad. Look at these views, mate. Oh, my lordy lord. Absolutely stunning. So I don't
actually know when the boat's coming. Probably should have asked, but there's a lot of people
here, so I'm guessing it'll be soon. Are we bored? Right. Here we go. Is it this one?
No, I don't think it is, actually. Hello. I think so.
It's going to take us about 15 minutes or so, roughly, according to Google Maps.
Here we are. Sathorn Pier. Well, that's one of the best 50ps I've ever spent in my life. Cool.
This is an absolutely beautiful area around here. All the little locations around Icon Siam
are just absolutely gorgeous. To be honest, I think the next time I come to Bangkok after this
time, I'll probably stay around here. I've never stayed around here, to be honest. Always in the
sort of centre, but around here, boy, it's nice, mate. Oh, dear. Look at this. Closed.
Uh-oh. Well, I've just made this journey for nothing, but to be honest, the ferry was so much
fun that I don't even care. We'll just move on to the next one. A little bit disappointed, but
hum-ho, on to the next. Right. Well, seeing as that place is closed,
I think I'm just going to go to somewhere called the Makanong Cube? Mahanakon Cube. It's basically
like a box park style place with a few Michelin restaurants all under one roof, and it's a
nine-minute drive away. I'll either get a cab or maybe a tuk-tuk, actually. If one pulls up,
I'll probably just get a tuk-tuk, but yeah, most likely get a cab because it'll probably be quite
expensive in a tuk-tuk, but if it's a good price, we'll get the tuk-tuk. Sawadee krap.
Uh, Mahanakon Cube? No? Okay, no problem. Okay, so it's right next to Chong Nonsi BTS station,
so I'll probably just say that to the taxi driver or the tuk-tuk. Sawadee krap.
Uh, Chong Nonsi station? No, no? Okay. Chong Nonsi? You have a meter? Okay. Kop kun krap.
Right, here we are. Mahanakon Cube. Onward. I'm not sure if you've got to get a card and scan it
and top it up with money like the other places, like the other food courts,
or if you just pay with cash. I guess we'll find out, won't we? Ah, there we go. Cash card. Okay.
Right, here we go. We've got a place with five years in a row of Michelin rating. Here we go.
I think I'm going to get something from here. Pretty cheap as well. 80 baht, 100 baht. Oh,
pork wonton and grilled pork. Oh, that is a bit of me. All right, let me look at this menu,
then I'll come back to you. Right, one of these is screaming my name. I think I'm going to get
the roasted pork with steamed rice. Oh, that looks good. Can I get the 13 roasted pork with
rice, please? Oh, you don't? Do you have 11? 11, yes, please. Okay, so they don't have the roasted
pork, but they've got the grilled pork. Let's do it. I think I'm going to eat in more than one
place here because there's like four or five Michelin rated places in this little cube,
so might as well. Right, here we go. We've got the grilled pork and we've got a little bit of soup.
Look at this. Nice little bit of broth. Anyway, let's get tucked into this. Let me try a bit of
that soup first. A little bit of broth. You know me, I love a bit of broth. Oh,
I think that's chicken broth. Certainly tastes like chicken.
I'm a proper broth man, mate. Now, let's get tucked into the main course. So,
we've got some rice, we've got grilled pork, we've got egg and we've got a bit of cucumber.
Let's go, mate. Oh, saucy. Oh my word. That sauce, it's sort of like a sweet and sour sauce, but
not that sweet. Just like a tiny little hint of sweetness. That is honestly incredible. Almost
like a barbecue sweet and sour sauce. Yeah, honestly, absolutely incredible. One of the
best things I've had all day. Mate, for 80 baht as well, that is incredible value for money.
Genuinely, I think that might be the best thing I've tried today. Right, I'm going on the hunt
for some more food now. That barely touched the sides. That was an appetizer. Oh, here we go.
We've got some more Michelin rated food here. Four years in a row. Oh, Khao Soi. See, I was
going to save the Khao Soi for when I go up north to Chiang Mai eventually, but if it's Michelin
rated, I might just have to get it now, to be honest. 139 baht, that's about £3.50. A little
bit expensive for Thailand, but really and truly £3.50 is not that expensive, so let's get that.
Oh, do I get the chicken or do I get the beef? Oh, no, I'm going to go for the chicken. Original.
Sawasdee krap. One Khao Soi with chicken, please. Right, here we go. We've got the Khao Soi. Let me
get a little bit of that lime on there. Oh, probably my second favourite dish in Thailand,
just in general. It's very tough between that and a pad see ew. Honestly, not too much between them,
bit of cabbage, bit of onion. Dump that in there. Give it a little stir. So if you've never had a
Khao Soi, you don't really know what it is. You've got a coconut creamy sort of soupy base. You've
got fried noodles, like dry crunchy noodles, and then you've got soft noodles in the actual broth
itself. Broth, soup, whatever it is. And then big old chicken leg in there as well. First things
first, as always, a little bit of the broth. Oh, wow. Honestly, Khao Soi, it's just incredible.
Right, let's get a bit of that noodle on the go. Let's go for some soft and some crunchy.
Mate, I'm all about textures, right? It's not always about the flavour with food.
It's all about the textures as well. The crunch and the soft noodles just pairs perfectly.
A little bit of a kick. Not too much. Perfect amount. Just a nice little subtle hint of spice.
Right, try a bit of this chicken as well.
No, man. That's one of the best Khao Soi's I've ever had in my life. No wonder they're
Michelin rated. Four years in a row. You can see why. This place is amazing. I can't believe I've
never even heard of this place before. Definitely the best thing I've had all day. I feel like the
food just keeps getting better and better. That soup is addicting. A little bit of a
controversial opinion, but sometimes I like a Khao Soi with no noodles, no crispy and no soft
noodles, but rice on the side instead. Honestly, slaps. Don't knock it till you've tried it. I
know it's controversial, right? I might get cancelled for saying that in Thailand, but
it's amazing. That food was absolutely delicious. Now, the next stop we're going to is
Royal CAF in Central World, which is conveniently on the same line as this little train station
here. It's not even a 15 minute, maybe like a 10 minute train, and it's like 40 baht,
50 baht for the train. Literally a quid. Light work, mate. No, not even that. 28 baht, which
is like, yeah, 50p or something. Easy, mate. I'm on this train for three stops, eight minutes in
total, and then I'm at Central World Mall. Right, here we are, guys. Pang Cha Thai Royal. Now,
the Michelin rated dish here is a Thai tea shaved ice dessert. Now, usually I don't really
like shaved ice desserts, but I'm willing to give it a go. I'm willing to be open-minded.
The fact that it's Michelin rated probably means that it's good, right? Let's go and see.
Can I get the Pang Cha with soft bread, please? Thank you very much. £12. I didn't realise it's
going to be that much, but I was already here, so I'm not really going to walk away. Do you know
what I mean? We've got it in front of us. I might as well just get it. That's mad. Well, I mean,
£12 is still relatively cheap. You know what I mean? It's the most expensive thing in this
video by a long shot, but it's still not that expensive. You know what I mean? It's okay.
It's okay. I'm just lying to myself at this point. Oh, actually, it wasn't £12. It was £10.62.
Oh, that makes it all right then. To be honest, though, in London, that probably would have been
£30 or £40. In the grand scheme of things, as I love to say in these videos, it's not too bad.
Oh, there we go. Look at that. All right, fair play. I mean, I'm paying a tenner, but
it is bloody immaculate. Look at that. At least there's a lot of effort gone into it.
We'll have a look. Of course, we'll have a look. Thank you very much. Oh, look at that, mate. Oh,
my God. Now, that is decadent. Right, I don't even know where to start with this. This is literally
the size of my head. Look. So, we've got shaved ice with Thai tea. We've got little bits of bread
inside the bowl. You've got loads of them little jelly bobas, whatever they're called.
You've got some whipped cream on the top. You've got sprinkles. Oh, here we go. Right,
let's get a bit of that shaved ice, bit of whipped cream. I think it's almonds as well.
Is that almonds? I'm not too sure, but let's go. Oh, my God, it's so cold. Oh, my teeth.
I mean, I'm not sure I'll get it again. Let me try a bit of this Thai tea soaked bread
with a bit of the whipped cream. To be fair, the bread is actually really, really nice
and so is the whipped cream. As I said earlier, though, I'm not really a fan of shaved ice.
I've never really liked it, like snow cones and all of that, but you know what? Let me have a
bit more of that whipped cream. See, that's banging. That's really, really nice, but the
rest of it, it's just not really my thing. It's all right. Well, it seems a bit of a waste, but
if I don't like it that much, I don't like it that much. I mean, you might love it. If you like
shaved ice desserts, you probably would like it. But as I said, in London, that would definitely
be like 40 or 50 quid. The fact that it's only a tenner is what it is, isn't it? I feel bad now.
They've just ordered the same thing and I've just sat here slating it the entire time.
Right, I'm not going to lie to you guys. That's left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth,
literally. Next up, we're going to Gaysorn Amarin Village to get some lovely egg noodles. All that
sugar has made me absolutely crash as well. Let's go and get some sustenance, some real sustenance.
Luckily for us, it's only a six minute walk away. Bosh.
Right, so we're inside. Food court is level four. Not going to lie, this is a lovely mall.
Never been in here before. I've seen the Louis Vuitton store from the outside on the bridge and
whatnot, but this is bloody lovely. Proper swanky. Right, it looks like it's shut, but
I'm not 100% sure. All right, let me just try and find another Michelin rated place in here.
Hopefully, there is one. If not, I'm going to cry my bloody eyes out. Oh, hang on a moment.
I think we found one. Here we go. Oh my God, I would have been gutted if we couldn't get one
in here. Just traveled like 20 minutes, 25 minutes. Here we go. Four Michelin in a row.
Let's have a look. Right, here we go. We've got some braised pork noodle soup,
egg noodles with braised pork. Oh, I'll probably get that one. That one looks the most appetizing.
Number five, please. Also, this place has been running since 1970. I don't know if you can see
that, but 1970, 55 years or actually 56 years now of absolute brilliance. Love it. Right,
here we go. We've got the pork noodles and we've got the soup. It's dry noodles with the soup on
the side. To be honest with you, probably just going to pour the soup in. Let's have a bit of
that. Oh mate, look at that. That looks delicious. Right. As usual, as always, let's try a bit of the
old broth first. Okay. Got some crispy onions in there. We got some scallions as the Americans
like to say. We call them spring onions where I'm from. Let's get a bit of everything. A bit of
spring onion and a bit of crispy onion. Let's go. Oh my days. I think that might be the best broth
of the day. No word of a lie because it's like a slightly sweeter broth. Absolutely incredible.
Now let's try a bit of that noodle and a bit of pork. Have we had egg noodles today? I don't
think we've had these sort of egg noodles. I think technically the Khao Soi is egg noodles, but
not these sort of thin noodles, almost like instant noodles in it. I think I prefer the
thin noodles to be honest with you. Right. Let's try a bit of pork and a bit of noodle
if I can even get it on the bloody chopsticks. Oh my word. That is amazing. It's like barbecue pork,
like a really sweet glaze on it. Honestly, absolutely delicious. Here we go.
Oh my God. I can't describe the flavor. It's like a really sweet sticky glaze to it. I feel like
these meals are just getting better and better as the day goes on. I feel like we're just going
in an upward trajectory. I can see why this is Michelin rated four years in a row. Honestly,
my appetite today has been absolutely ravenous. I've been smashing the food, but my hunger's just
not going away. I think it's just because it's such good food that I'm just addicted to it.
Right guys, I'm going to demolish the rest of this. Like and subscribe and I'll see you in the next one.
