Women s Finish 2026 Sea Otter Classic

Sophia Gomez-Vichefoyne knows this is her chance. I've called her in the sprint, but she's not trying to wait around for a sprint as she's taking Lauren Stevens, your reigning gravel national champion, up the road. And what a day that would be if she took the win, because we had Braden Lang in his jersey take the win. And now we've got the women's gravel national champion on the cusp of a very big result right now. We were at four. We are down to two guys coming into the finish, just like the men's race. Oh, this is crazy. So now down into drops, very fast section. Sophia choosing to ride this one from the front. Again, this is her experience. She knows it's going to be fairly high speed to the line. She knows positioning is key. So at this point, she's going to put her nose in the wind, because she knows that's the advantage position right now. She's got a little bit of a gap. Lauren Stevens trying to get back on that gap. You can see Lauren really rocking on the pedals, trying to get back on the wheel. She's got to make her move. You know, it's got to come before that final turn. There's not a lot of real estate when they turn from gravel onto the pavement for the final time. He's Sophia taking a look back. She's sticking to the left. Look at that. Lauren go way inside. So Lauren Stevens trying to go way inside. But I think here comes Sophie. She's going to cut straight across. Oh, look at that. Sophia just hanging on to that. Oh, my word. That is Sophia all the way. What a move by Sophia Gomez V. Shafania. She looked like she had a little too much speed coming into that turn. Does a great job holding it up. She's going to run this advantage into the final turn. She's on the pavement. She is around the turn. Sophia with one more look back over the shoulder. Sophia Gomez V. Shafania, your champion here at the Lifetime Sea Otter Classic. Round number one of the Lifetime Grand Prix. Lauren Stevens bringing it in for second. Our current Gravelman National Champion coming in for second place. What an impressive race.
