Shen Yun Performing Arts moved theater-goers to tears in New York City on April 9th.
Audience members expressed their gratitude for the chance to experience traditional Chinese culture on stage.
I just cried, you know, it was the most beautiful thing.
And you feel the emotions, you feel the love, you feel the divinity, and I'm crying again.
In terms of impact, just joy, pure joy.
For 20 years in the subway, I've seen the advertisements for Shen Yun,
and I said, one day I will see this show for 20 years.
And here we are, today's the day I saw it, so thank you very much.
Shen Yun's mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism,
an idea that resonated with audience members.
I think that's an admirable goal, and I'd like to see it happen.
I would like to see China get back to their ways before communism.
I think that's beautiful.
I think that traditional culture from all the different places in the world is a beautiful thing,
and crushing culture is absolutely terrible.
So living with the arts is what makes us human and what makes us civilized.
The discipline that these dancers have, and the authenticity, and the compassion,
and the forbearance, and the truthfulness, as you say, and the performance showed all of that and more.
Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006 and brings an all-new performance each year.
Oh, I love it. It's beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
Yeah, the costumes, the artistry, the athleticism of the performers is just wonderful.
What I found the most beautiful is the costumes. For me, the flowing fabrics I found very beautiful.
I absolutely loved the women with their sleeves when they threw the sleeves out,
and they were so long and gorgeous and beautiful. That was really, I think, my favorite part that I'll always remember.
Oh, they're just extraordinary. Yeah, they really are just tremendous.
The athleticism, like I said, just beautiful. The synchronization is gorgeous.
Everything about the show is beautiful.
Shen Yun captivates and transports theatergoers to another world.
I was really inspired by the colors and the acrobatics,
and the traditional Chinese dancing was really special and new.
I'd never seen that before, and it was really beautiful.
I really was mesmerized by the colorful way that the story was brought to life.
It put me in a very good mood and made me very happy.
I was happy to share it with my children, and it's going to carry me through the week. Thank you.
I'm definitely going to tell everybody that I know they've got to come and see it.
Shen Yun Performing Arts gave a performance in New York City on April 11th,
taking audiences on a journey through ancient China.
Theatergoers were impressed by the beauty of the performance.
I've been waiting 15 years to see this show, actually,
and today I was able to see it for the first time.
This was by far the most superior ballet that I've seen here
because it was so engaging and it was so historically relevant,
and there was a lot of spirituality attached,
and I'm really grateful for the beauty that I was able to share with my family this evening.
Shen Yun's mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism.
My takeaway from the show is that there is just so much to offer.
The Chinese culture has so much to offer that goes back thousands of years,
and its lessons have been cultivating for a long time,
and I think everybody can learn from it.
It's amazing, hopefully, that China can also be reopened again to their own culture
and to the beliefs that made China what it is.
We know how much you've dedicated of your lives to this important talent and this important mission,
and you all get a gold star for that performance. Very good.
Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006
and is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Audience members were impressed by the color, grace, and athleticism of the performers.
They are so graceful and athletic, and I wonder how they can be so perfect.
They seem to do these jumps they are doing, and they must have a great education in dancing.
With the contrast with the lights and the darks, and then you had the brights,
your team definitely is very trained because they know what they're doing with the colors.
It's not accidental. They didn't make any real mistakes at all with the colors because it was all on point.
The colors are beautiful. The stage setting, everything on stage is beautiful.
The costumes are amazing. The backdrops are amazing.
Everything on the show, the colors, the lighting, everything is phenomenal.
Thank you so much for sharing your beauty. Please, please keep doing what you're doing.
So much inspiration and beauty. So lovely to see and witness.
Shen Yun will be performing in Albany, New York, from April 14th to the 15th.

Shen Yun Performing Arts is back in New York City's Lincoln Center this season,
drawing audiences from across the Chinese community.
Many say the performance not only showcases world-class artistry,
but also revives traditional Chinese culture,
something they say was lost under communist rule in China today.
This performance is one of the best in the world.
I haven't seen it in person,
but from the perspective of pure art,
it has nurtured so many artists.
I think every artist in the world is a top-notch artist.
A lot of white-collar dancers don't perform anymore,
because they can't keep up.
In 20 years, Shen Yun has grown from one troupe to eight,
and it's always packed.
Shen Yun's mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture
from before communism.
The company also tells stories of modern-day courage
by practitioners of a traditional Chinese meditation practice.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa,
has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party.
For these reasons, Shen Yun cannot perform in China.
It's a pity.
China has a lot of beautiful, traditional culture.
It affects people a lot.
But under such a dictatorship,
a lot of traditional things have been lost.
It's a great pity for the Chinese people.
Especially when we look at the CCP's disaster,
it really happened to us.
Our children, our students,
our middle and high school students,
our old cadres,
they are all organs of the CCP.
It's really inhuman.
This performance really shows the essence of Chinese culture
and the essence of Chinese art.
It shows a lot of aspects of China.
It makes the world more aware of traditional Chinese culture.
What we see today in China
is already broken.
The Chinese people don't see it anymore.
But I see the traditional Chinese culture in Shen Yun.
I understand Chinese culture.
This is a great achievement.
I hope more Chinese people,
especially the mainlanders,
will come to the Shen Yun Festival
and get rid of the misunderstanding
between the CCP and the Falun Gong.
The CCP blinds the eyes of the Chinese people
and doesn't tell them the truth.
The Chinese people's misunderstanding of the Falun Gong is too deep.
I think as long as you watch the Shen Yun Festival
or know more about the Falun Gong,
these misunderstandings will be eliminated.
I will let everyone know
what I saw,
what I experienced,
and what I saw with my own eyes.
I will let everyone know,
including the mainlanders,
that the Falun Gong,
the Shen Yun dance troupe,
and the performance of Shen Yun
are not the same as the CCP's propaganda.
It's not the same concept.
I'm a lucky man today.
I will come to the festival every year.
I want to pay tribute to all the artists of Shen Yun.
I want to pay tribute to all the workers
who have dedicated themselves to the performance of the Shen Yun troupe.
I want to thank them.
Shen Yun Performing Arts gave a performance in Boston, Massachusetts on April 11,
mesmerizing theatergoers with their beauty and artistry.
The show was amazing.
The athleticism was amazing.
The dance I loved.
The music I loved.
I really loved the message, the spirituality.
The thing that really struck me was the joy in the dancing.
And even in the point where they were oppressed
or being beaten,
they just seemed like they knew something internally
that was just so much more important to them.
And I just loved the message.
I think it was colorful.
The music and the choreography was great.
The orchestra.
I play in a 50-piece band,
so I loved the music part tremendously.
It was a great experience.
Shen Yun's mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture
from before communism through classical Chinese dance and music.
I much more appreciate the genuine Chinese culture
to the culture that's portrayed on TV now.
I think that when you remove the spirituality from the people,
you remove the hope, you remove the growth, the individuality,
and the love, really,
that you have a much more different view.
And I just love the way in which they look to love and to reward
and to, you know, the message was that doing right in this world
will bring you to a better place,
which is really my belief as well.
So I love that.
It's good that they are bringing this to light through the show
because it shows us that really, you know,
so much more humanity behind all the different cultures.
The other thing that was amazing to me was the unity on the stage.
I had never seen that.
You'll have 15 people on the stage,
and every single one of them is so in sync with the other
that it was exceptional.
Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006
and has grown to eight different companies.
Each performance features both ancient myths and legends
as well as modern-day stories of courage
in the face of the brutal persecution of faith by the Chinese Communist Party.
It opened my eyes to, like, what happened across the United States.
And I believe it's the only China that's going through all these problems
and, like, a type of government.
And I wish this could open more people's eyes and, like,
we just have to fight for it.
I think it's important.
I think that if the world, if all cultures were like that
and we treated each other with kindness and respect,
it would be just a much safer and better world to live in.
And I think they showed that and depicted that.
It made me happy.
I don't know what else to say other than the show made me absolutely happy,
joyful, and excited.
I'm looking forward to sharing it with my granddaughters who are into dance.
But I just want to say that the discipline that it takes is tremendous,
but the results are so much worth it.
Shen Yun will perform in Albany, New York, on April 14 and 15.
