How YOU can master these golf shots (50, 75, 100 Yards)

Three pitching distances you need to learn if you want to lower your scores.
50, 75 and 100 yards are distances where golfers should be gaining shots.
So let's see if we can work together and make you deadly over these distances.
And we're talking here about a shot that is going to pitch in and around that number.
So I use this wonderful GC Quad to measure my distances,
but if you don't have access to a rangefinder, you can use the markers on a range,
you can use a laser rangefinder, or you can do the good old-fashioned thing and pace it out.
But trust me, whenever you're practising distances,
trying to get access to a launch monitor will make it so much easier.
So distance is created simply by strike, so where the ball impacts the club face.
Middle impacts on the club will translate to more consistent distance control.
Club speed at impact, so how fast that club is travelling when it hits the ball.
And dynamic loft at impact, so that is the effective loft that your club has when it hits the ball.
That's affected by shaft lean, so the amount the handle is ahead, and also angle of attack.
So how much down or how much up that club is moving through impact.
For this 50-yard shot, I'm using a 58-degree wedge.
It might take a little bit of experimentation to find the right loft for you.
So the ball position is central, and I'm going to put about 60% of my body weight onto the lead foot.
And I want to get the feeling that the club is opposite the left thigh at impact.
So I'm going to turn the body away, keeping the arms relatively straight,
until my left arm is parallel with the ground.
I'm then going to control the speed with which I turn through the ball
and stop swinging when my right arm reaches parallel with the ground.
Because I've only got this much space to move the club back and through impact,
I can better control the speed at which the club travels.
That was pretty close.
Smashed that like button.
And I can almost guarantee you will hole your next shot from this distance.
For the 75-yard shot, I'm going to be using the same club and adopting the same setup.
The only difference is on the backswing, my left arm is going to move higher
to about a three-quarter position.
Controlling my turn through the ball,
I will move up and again mirror that position with my right arm.
Even though I still feel really relaxed, because my backswing is longer,
it means I'm going to be able to generate more natural speed moving through the ball.
I mean, come on, come on.
You've got to absolutely smash that subscribe button for shots like that.
Hopefully you'll be seeing more of those in future videos as well.
For the 100-yard shot, I'm going to keep the same setup positions,
but just complete a full swing.
It's not guaranteed, but if you can find a club with a loft that goes 50 yards with a half swing,
with a full swing, should be going about 100.
