Sometimes things just work out! Hopefully this new bike is the one for me.
I love days like today y'all. It's a motorcycle reveal. I got a new bike and I get to share it with you.
2020 and the weird rules that were put into place affected all of us in multiple of ways and one
for me was it canceled so many of my motorcycle rallies and my trips I had planned for my American
V-Twin bagger. You know I like to get on those, pack it down with gear and travel across the
country and the last couple years that's been a very difficult thing. The lack of ability to
ride my V-Twin left me getting more into the dirt. Not only did I get a Jeep and do a lot of
off-road videos with the Jeep but I also found a way to do it two wheels because well I frankly I
just I love to ride two wheels y'all. So I got myself an Africa Twin and I went off on a journey
coast to coast across the country in the dirt on two wheels on this Africa Twin and it was a great
adventure. I only had about four weeks of riding in the dirt preparation to take that trip and it
was brutal and it taught me a couple things. One it taught me that I don't think I'll ever want to
travel long distance in the dirt again. I think I'll like to save that for my American V-Twin. I
learned real quick that off-road for me was going to be more fun. I absolutely enjoyed it. I loved
the remote places I got to go on the bike and the beautiful scenery. There's no question the scenery
off-road is more beautiful and luxurious than that on-road. Of course these are my own opinions. So I
knew dirt road and two wheels was in my future but the Africa Twin was too big of a bike to hit
the small trails. It was too much motorcycle. It was made for touring the country and I'm just like
I said not touring the country on those. So I decided to get myself still a street legal. I
could still bang around but much much lighter. When I say lighter 231 pounds this thing is like riding
a bicycle y'all and here it is. I got a 2021 KTM 500. I've been looking at the KTM. I've been thinking
about the KTM and now I've got the KTM. I came across KTMs online and I knew that they were
leading the market off-road or certainly one of the most competitive and I wanted to give it a try.
This is the 500. It's actually the 500 XCPW which is really their dirt bike but I was able to modify
it so it will indeed be street legal and well it has a tag. I was able to land on the KTM because
my buddy, you guys got to remember him, Rusty from D&D Exhaust. Rusty is also not only the owner of
D&D Exhaust but even more importantly as a veteran of armed services. A marine right? Yes sir. Yes sir.
Once a marine always a marine they tell me. That's right. That's right. He happened to have a friend who
owned a KTM dealership. He was able to connect me with him. We were able to make one killer deal that
I just couldn't pass up and I landed myself on my very first KTM. He threw it in the back of his
sprinter van, drove it up here to meet the Cay River Campground and I took it for the first spin
with not only him but some veterans who had come to visit my campground who happened to be on their
own side by sides and dirt bikes. And there you have it y'all. My new KTM. I'm absolutely loving it.
It's just beautiful. The difference between this one and the one that comes street legal is this
one has a little bit more of a performance tune to it and you got to modify a couple things like
the blinkers and stuff to make it street legal. Other than that it is street legal. I did get it
from my friends over at KTM North Texas and I say my friends they are my new friends. They took
incredibly good care of me so that I can share KTM and dirt experiences with y'all. I hope y'all
are really going to enjoy some of the videos I'm going to be able to put out with this because guess
what my girl Ashley got a new dirt bike as well. We got rid of our big BMW and our big Africa Twin.
We're going to some smaller street legal enduro style dirt bikes so we can just have a little bit
more fun off-road, be a little bit more agile, a little bit more aggressive. Really just turn it up
and I'm excited for it y'all and I hope you're excited with me. Again thank you for tuning into
my channel. Thank you for smashing that thumbs up if you are interested in seeing me make an absolute
fool of myself in the dirt with this over the next couple of years. Either way I know I am very
excited. I absolutely absolutely absolutely love this new bike so far. Of course I've only got
probably about 30 miles on it so far but they were 30 fun miles indeed. Finding new adventures and
pushing the envelope and coming out of your comfort zone is a big deal and it's something that I always
try to do. Anytime I find an opportunity I try to expand my horizon and try new things and that's
exactly what I've done here with this KTM. I'll do a whole video comparing it to the Africa Twin
and the big differences. I hope you all enjoyed the big bike reveal and seeing some of the shots
of me riding with some friends and I will see you all in tomorrow's video.
