Oh my gosh, oh my gosh.
This is crazy, I'm gonna cry.
Ah, ah, ah.
Obviously this is not gonna be
the type of video I usually make.
I thought it would be really cool
to just sit down and tell you guys what's up.
Give you a whole life update.
These are also happy tears, by the way.
I'm not sad, I'm not like, oh, I'm trapped forever.
No, I'm beyond excited.
So don't mind me for looking like a wet rat.
I just came out of the shower
and I figured as I get ready for the day,
I would just love to sit down,
talk to you one-on-one as if we're hanging out.
I thought it'd be cool to give you the whole spiel
of where Jake and I started, the proposal story,
and also what's in store for the future.
So let's get into it.
I actually have to take this off so that I can get ready
because I don't wanna get makeup on it.
You know what, maybe some people are new to my channel.
So hello, if we've never met before,
I'm Olivia slash Liv.
I answer to both.
And I just recently got engaged.
Well, I don't have the ring on anymore, but I did.
I did, I promise.
Okay, so first I'm gonna give you guys a little backstory
of me and Jake's relationship.
We have been together for about
two and a half years at this point,
but our entire relationship
has pretty much been long distance.
He plays hockey.
I do not.
When we first met, he was playing hockey in Sweden,
the country, across the world from California.
That was fun.
And so we did that for about nine months.
And then he comes back to California on the off season.
So he lives in California for the summers.
And I love the summer.
The real ones know I wrote him a song
about being in a long distance relationship.
It's called Distance.
So if you haven't listened to that, go check that out.
And try not to cry.
Good luck.
Anywho, so we did distance for about eight or nine months
with him being in Sweden,
and then he came home for the summer.
And then coincidentally,
my hometown was opening up a hockey team.
Lake Tahoe had never had a hockey team before this,
but for whatever reason, with divine timing,
they reached out to Jake.
We went from Sweden to now Lake Tahoe.
That's an hour flight for me, not a 16 hour flight.
So, and that's just what I mean about,
oh gosh, I'm gonna cry.
Just, just thinking about God's faithfulness
and how he really orchestrated this whole thing.
It is so beautiful.
Anyways, I have a sister back home
and I have my parents that still live back home.
So it is the most perfect situation.
I forget concealer every time.
So let me just kind of do this.
Anyway, that's pretty much our relationship in a nutshell.
And so now we should get to the proposal story.
People keep asking me if I knew.
I knew, I knew.
I was trying to just go with it and act surprised
and not be annoying,
like clocking everything that's happening.
But I kind of was that person.
I was clocking everything that was happening.
So the first indicator that I knew that this was going down
happened in Nashville.
I had been getting my nails done, you know, just in case.
And so we popped into this random nail salon
and I just wanted these banana yellow tips.
But this is what I got.
The base color is way, way too dark.
And I told him that.
As he was doing my nails, I said,
oh, that's a little too dark.
Can it be my nail color?
And he goes, it's okay.
And I was like, no, can we change it to like a pale pink
or something like that?
He's like, it's okay.
I'm like, it's not okay.
So I told Jake about that and he goes, oh no, that sucks.
I'm so sad that you don't like your nails.
Here, let me give you a hundred dollars to get them redone.
Excuse me?
I've had bad nail jobs in the past
and you didn't do anything then.
Why is it different this time?
Why is it different now?
Huh?
Why are you sending me money now?
Do they need to look good for something?
Okay, hold on, pause.
I need to put these on because I'm too lazy to do mascara
and I need to focus.
So I'll be right back.

Do you have anything to say to the people?
Leave my Instagram alone.
I just want to be to myself.
I'm glad that you guys are getting to know the whole story
and you guys are lucky because I said no,
but because I love Olivia so much, I said yes.
Okay, well, I love you.
I love you more.
Have a good day, have fun.
Bye, everybody.
Peace and love, peace out, sea crust.
Peace out, sea crust.
Don't forget to tell them about you.
We'll get there.
Okay, well, first of all, eyelashes are done.
Now I don't have to worry about them for four days.
What Jake was starting to say is originally he said no
to the idea of me sitting down and sharing the story
because he's a private person.
I, uh, I on the other hand have a lot of people
up in my grill.
He literally can't even be here anyways
because he still has playoffs for his hockey season.
And so I don't even know the next time I'm going to see him
and we will get to the upset tummy
he was talking about in a second.
Anyways, where was I?
The nails.
So that was the first thing that kind of made me suspicious.
The second thing is that he was talking about this date
that he had planned two weeks
before the date was going to happen.
In boy years, that's a really long time.
So anyways, the day of the proposal comes.
Jake had a lunch with his teammates.
So I decided to take myself on a little self date for lunch.
There's this dumpling spot in Tahoe
that everybody raves about.
And I don't even like dumplings,
but I thought maybe this restaurant would change my mind.
So I took myself to this dumpling spot
and I got like eight dumplings and I did not like them.
They're just so squishy and ugh, I don't.
But then like clockwork, I don't know what happened
or what was wrong with me,
but almost immediately after I was unwell.
I'm trying to not say this in a gross way,
but I think you know what I'm saying.
How am I even gonna go on this date?
I even told Jake, babe, there's a possibility
I can't do this right now.
I'm really not feeling well.
So he rushes downstairs, grabs me meds
and he's asking me every two seconds,
are you feeling better?
Are you feeling better?
Are you okay?
Do you think you can make it?
So then I was thinking, oh my gosh,
this is happening today.
I need to feel better somehow.
So I just pulled it together.
So we made it to the beach
that we were gonna walk around at
and he was acting really weird.
And so I actually took this video
as a Snapchat to send to my friends.
He's in the bathroom.
He is just acting like he keeps checking his phone
as if we need to catch the sunset somewhere.
So I was on to him,
but I was just trying to be in the moment,
go with the flow.
We walk around.
He kept repeating himself.
He's very nervous.
For example, I saw a goose by himself
on the top of this parking garage earlier that day.
And then when we were walking around,
I saw this goose alone on a rock.
And I'm like, what is up with all these lone gooses?
Where are their friends?
So I was joking around about that,
took a picture and his response was,
a goose, a goose.
Yeah, a goose.
And I'm like, oh my gosh, this man is glitching.
So we get to the spot and there's,
I can't talk while I do this.
We get to the spot and there's this overlook of the beach
and there's a bench right behind us.
So I say, do you wanna sit down and enjoy the view?
And he goes, no, no, we can stand.
I'm content right here.
And I'm like, oh, oh, we're standing now.
Okay, okay.
Earlier, I saw a photographer
sitting down by himself with a camera.
So he says, this place is probably
a photographer's paradise, right?
This beach is so pretty.
I bet there's so many people taking pictures, huh?
And I'm like, aha, right.
Photographer's paradise.
Sure, honey.
But he starts to talk about how far God has taken us
in our story and the vibe started to switch.
He asked me to take my sunglasses off
so he can look me in the eyes.
So I turned to him and he said,
I'm gonna try to get this out without crying.
He looked at me so genuinely and said,
the consistency and the loyalty I've shown him
means so much more than he could express.
He wouldn't wanna be there with anyone else.
All the gooey things, we're both tearing up.
It was so peaceful and so beautiful.
He gets down on one knee, he asked me to marry him
and I said, I said, duh.
I mean, yes, yes.
It was seriously one of the most beautiful moments
I've ever experienced in my life.
From the second this ring went on my finger
and we looked at each other, the whole dynamic shifted.
The safety and comfort and security you feel
in a healthy relationship, it just was magnified
knowing that he's choosing me and I'm gonna choose him back.
And it's just the coolest thing.
It's just such a sure feeling.
So then we had a little photo shoot for 30, 45 minutes.
I'll pop some pictures around here
and it was just so stunning.
They did such a good job.
He took me to my favorite sushi restaurant
and surprised me with all of my friends,
his teammates, my sister, my parents who still live there.
So we all got to celebrate together
and it was just the coolest moment.
Despite me being a little sick earlier,
it all came together and that's just,
that's how it went down.
And I actually went down to the mailbox
and I got our Polaroids.
I have not even opened it, so this is my genuine reaction.
I'm gonna cry.
I'm so, I've been crying like every day.
I'm telling you guys, I'm a big baby right now.
Are you kidding me?
Those are so beautiful.
I think the reason why it makes me so emotional
is because I truly felt God's presence all day.
It was this unexplainable peace.
I still need to dry my hair,
but I will briefly talk about what's next.
When is the wedding?
I don't know.
This just happened, people.
I have no idea.
But I do know we have to work around his hockey schedule.
So most likely in the summer when he's off.
That could be the end of this summer.
That could be next summer.
Most likely next summer
because I can't plan in like three months.
Where would we want the wedding?
I'm also not sure.
My grandma is 93 and I would love for her to be there.
She's in Northern California.
So a part of me wants to plan this
around planning for her to be there.
Does this mean I'm done with YouTube?
No.
It just might look a little different.
