Don't it feel like heaven right now?
Don't it feel like something from a dream?
Yeah, I've never known nothing quite like this
Don't it feel like tonight might never be again?
Baby, we know better than to try and pretend
No one could have ever told me about this
I said, yeah, yeah
Yeah, the waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more car
Take it all with faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part
Oh, don't let it kill you, baby
Don't let it get to you
Don't let it kill you, baby
Don't let it get to you
I'll be your bleeding heart
I'll be your crying fool
Don't let this go too far
Don't let it get to you
The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you get one more yard
Take it all with faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part
Well, look at that. An 11th hour surprise.
No, no, it wasn't. We've been talking about it.
That was not like a sneaky move or anything like that?
I'm cool with it. I'm cool with it.
No, he was like, why are we not turning around?
That seemed like sneaky as hell.
It wasn't.
What's your name, man?
My name is Bay Simpson from Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
Muscle Shoals!
I need to know about growing up in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
People don't know it's a legendary musical place.
So tell us about what the music was like for you growing up.
My mom's a singer. Stepfather's a hit songwriter.
My dad's a drummer.
So I was always in Fame Studios as a kid.
It's in your bones, you know, rock and roll is in your bones.
I'm so glad you think that.
I've never really heard anyone do a Petty song.
I mean, like a couple of them, the big ones.
But that one said something about you, which I really took to.
So I'm really happy that it happened the way that it did.
A, because I don't have to fight against them.
But B, because the tone and the way you delivered certain parts of that vocal
really showed me an understanding of, you know, rock and roll music.
That's right.
And so knowing that you know it is enough for me to be like,
you know what, this dude is going to be awesome.
He's going to be different than everybody on the show.
I'm super happy I snuck in and got you at the last second
and didn't behave like an idiot.
I'm pretty sure we're going to have a lot of taste in common
and I'm just really excited to find out more.
I hope so, man. Thank you.
Welcome to the show.
Thank y'all so much.
Since childhood, Tyler James and his best friend
thought they'd be singing together forever.
But last year, all that came to an end.
My name is Tyler James.
I am 30 years old and I'm a singer-songwriter.
When I was a teenager, my best friend was Amy Winehouse.
We became friends when we were like 12, 13.
We both went to the same school.
We've been best friends ever since then.
We were like two peas in a pod.
We were like two halves of the same person.
Unfortunately, last summer, worst day of my life, Amy died.
And my whole life changed.
Now, I mean, she's here. She's here with me. I know that.
But it's about me finding my own feet.
And the only way for me that I'm ever really going to find that
is through music, is through singing.
This competition is about me building up my confidence
for myself.
He's very important to me.
There's a lot riding on this.
And I watch them throw away again
So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooh yeah
Sitting on the dock of the bay
Wasting time, yeah
Looks like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what
Some people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yeah
Sitting here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
3,000 miles I roam
Just to make this dock my home
So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooh, sitting on the dock of the bay
Wasting time
What's your name?
My name is Tyler James.
First off, I wanna say thanks for hitting that,
topping it off on that high note, that falsetto at the end.
Through your whole performance, you sounded really good.
And that last falsetto thing that you did
showed your range and how smooth you can be at the same time.
And you're awesome.
Thanks, man.
Hey.
You alright?
Yeah, just nervous.
You shouldn't be nervous.
I really enjoyed it.
And I'm really happy that you and Danny
go to the same hairdressers.
As old as the case may be.
How do you do that?
I don't know, hairspray, I guess.
Remember when I had hair like that?
Look what you've got to look forward to.
Oh, thanks.
No, I really enjoyed it.
I know that song very well, though.
And maybe I'm so used to the Otis Redding version.
And I knew Otis Redding.
He was a great guy, by the way.
I know a lot of people.
But I know the song so well,
it's hard for me to judge you singing that song.
But I liked it.
So, you're on my team.
Cool, man. Thank you.
Well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man
Who wakes up next to you
When I grow up
Yeah, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man
Who goes alone with you
But I would walk 500 miles
I would walk 500 miles
I would be the man
Who walks up at your door
When I'm working
Yeah, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man
Who's working hard for you
When the money comes in for the work
Come on, Tom.
Come on, Tom. Turn right.
Come on.
But I would walk 500 miles
I would walk 500 miles
I would be the man
They can't not turn.
Who walks up at your door
So, what's your name?
My name's Daniel Duke.
I thought you did a great job
with it because, you know,
when the record came out,
it was like a novelty record.
Yeah.
But what you did with it
was something completely different.
You made more out of the song.
You made the song more credible
than what I thought of it anyway.
Wow.
You know, I...
Thank you.
It was a unique thing that you did.
I liked that.
You did a great job with it
and I really enjoyed it.
Thank you, thank you.
You're that captivating thing
that everybody looks for
to want to kind of feel good
and comfortable.
Does that make any sense?
It sounds amazing.
Thank you.
Yeah, it's almost like,
it's almost, you know,
you captivated me
and you made me feel like
I was the only person
in the whole room
that you were singing to
and that's why I turned around.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
I felt the same way.
Yeah, you seem like a very nice guy
and I'm happy that you're on the show
and you sung that song
ever so gently
and demonstrated
people that love music
and they do it
not because they want to get rich,
not because they want to be famous,
but because I play this guitar
and I sing from my heart
and I sing for my family
and my friends
and I just want to make
the world wonderful
for however long you're singing
and thank you for being
one of those angels.
Thank you.
That means an awful lot.
Thanks so much.
Thanks for turning around.
Yeah, it's a tough choice.
If you were on my team,
I wouldn't want to go
and change you.
I wouldn't want to try
and make you into something
that you would feel
uncomfortable with,
but if I thought
that you could do something
and maybe you wouldn't think,
you know, that you could do it,
I would like to hear you try it.
Yeah, you'd push me.
Yes, so if you were with me,
you'd have an interesting
musical experience.
Wow, okay.
Well, that's a hell of a sell,
but I haven't got anybody
like you on my team.
Thank you.
I got a feeling that
you already know
who you're going to pick.
You're just being
very, very nice.
Then I'm going to go up
to the person you're going
to pick and I'm like,
wow, that was special.
Then he's going to say,
oh, you know,
like that, right?
So you and Tom
are going to be so awesome.
Yes, I'm going to pick
Sir Tom Jones.
It's great what you did
with that song.
That song is a whole new
thing for me now.
How old are you?
I'm 24.
Oh.
I have a little tip.
My twin is coming up
in the competition.
You have a twin?
You got twins?
We'll have a lot of fun,
believe me,
and it'll be great.
Make some noise.
So cute.
She's a twin.
Twins are coming.
It's going to be interesting.
Bring a coffee
in the morning
She brings me
inner peace
I'll take her out
to fancy restaurants
She takes the sadness
out of me
I love you
when her mind wanders
And she loves you
when I stay at home
I know when she's lost
and she knows
when I feel alone
From all my years
and graces
I'm chasing
There's only one I choose
And it's pointless
without you
From all my years
and graces
To the little things
I do
I'm looking for
There's only one I choose
And it's pointless
When your legs don't work
like they used to before
Can't sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember
the taste of my love
Swing, that's good,
that's good, swing.
Will your eyes still smile
from your cheek
Cause darling I
will be loving you
Till we're 17
And baby my
heart can still fall out
Hard at 23
I've been mysterious ways
And maybe just a touch
of her hand
Tell me I'm falling in love
with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you
Who I am
Honey now
I'm in love
Kiss me under the light
of a thousand stars
Thinking out loud
Baby we found love
Around where we are
Thank you so much
Hi mate
Hello
How are you?
I'm really good thanks
That was really good
Thank you very much
And I didn't turn
What's your name again?
My name's Jake Shake Shaft
Jake Shake Shaft
Yeah
That's a tongue twister
It is
Jake Shake Shaft
You've got a rockstar name already
so that's half way there
And yeah it was great
It's all there
I haven't got a good reason
for not turning
cause I thought it was really good
I overthought it
but I thought it was really good
You're through to the next round
with one of these three
With one of these three
fantastic people
And also we do a thing
where we give constructive criticism
but I ain't got any
so it was really good
Thank you very much
So you sound a lot older
You have this maturity
I thought you were going to be like
my age which is still kind of young
It's ironic cause I look 12
Yeah you look about 13
That's a push
But you have a great tone
Thank you
And I think you on team Will
would be pretty awesome
Breathe
Just breathe
I was going to say
I still haven't got over this
Yeah
Hi
Hello
I do find a similarity to your voice
with Ed Sheeran
so that it's a bad thing
because he is amazing
and a good friend of mine
And that performance
you should be really proud of
but I just really want to work with you
to see what you could sound like
if you did something
that was out of your comfort zone
You do sound really mature
and I think that
you'd probably murder it
Well I know Ed Sheeran
and I just did a couple of shows with him
and he's a great songwriter
but I heard something different
in what you did
You have a distinctive sound
to your voice
You're not only a unique singer
you put a feeling in there
that I felt
and that's very important
but you don't have to sing
in a certain way
to please me
You just have to sing great
and you did
Thank you so very much
Did you have an idea
on who you would like
to be your coach
before you came?
I did, it was you
It's a bromance
Oh well then
really let's
let's leave you go then
Alright, see you later
Thank you very much
for turning around
I really, really do appreciate it
Thank you very much
Thank you
People are going to love you
Thank you so much
for turning around
Don't worry
You're in the group
Yeah, it's great
Really
Well done
Have fun
See you soon
Have fun
Good
He did sound honest, didn't he?
Yes
You see the muscles
Yeah
I was looking at his muscles
though
What do you think?
There's a lot going on here
Here it is
Yes, okay
Oh, f**k yes
Awesome
It's really good
God
I love it
Awesome
It's how we do
What John Wayne do
If you want it
Take it
I should have said it before
Try to hide it
Fake it
I can't pretend anymore
I only want
Come on, let's go
Come on, push the button
Come on
What's your name?
I'm Alicia
I'm 17
I'm from Michigan
and I'm a student from Birmingham
How did you end up on here?
I'm not too sure
I'm glad I came here though
I am
I'm sorry
That was really lovely
and we all looked at each other
and went
Let's turn
Yes
And then you see your hair
and it's dazzling
Thank you
I didn't turn around
but I think you are fabulous
When there's a live animated Pocahontas
you know who's getting the role
Really beautiful, crisp performance
It was almost too perfect
but that's a really good place to start
in the sense that
you know, we're all striving for that anyway
and you're kind of like there
How are you doing?
I'm great, yeah
You're nervous
Yeah, it's a bit of a shock
It didn't come across in your singing at all
I mean, which is really strange
to see you kind of like
ball of nerves
Now, I however
I'm really nervous
that I might not get you on my team
and hence I've been waffling
for the last 20 seconds
and I can tell that George
really wants to say something
I'm just going to keep talking
I just want to warn you
that they've got
both of them have got
similar singers to you
so, you know, you've got to
weigh that up when you
It's true, you know
What have I got that's similar?
You've got some big voices
Yeah, but very different stylistically
No
She's lying
I've done this for a couple of years
and these two are new
and I'm starting to recognize
their pitches already
and they're really good
What about yours?
Oh, I can do Ricky's
Go on then
Hold on, can somebody give me
some fake eyelashes
so I can blink my eyes?
Thing is, they're really good
George has sold
hundreds of millions of records
Paloma's one of the most
successful female artists
in the world right now, right?
And that is a real draw
I just promise you
that if you repeat that
I can remove all the obstacles
in your way of going
further on in the competition
and not just that
finding your dreams
So there you go
I would like to work towards
finding who the real you is
and what your influences are
and showing your versatility
and that's where I'd go with it
Thank you
I think the job of a coach
is to find the right songs
that will take you out
of your comfort zone
and, you know, looking at
kind of the sort of career
that you want beyond this
Did you have in mind
a person that you wanted
to go with?
Kind of
Who was that?
I'm kind of torn
Alright, being torn is great
There's nothing wrong
with being torn
You just need to go
with your gut feeling
and that's what I've done
throughout my whole career
It's time for you to be
kind of brave, actually
I think, you know, rather than
sort of just going
Oh, I know what I want
and I'm going to stick to that
You know, be brave
Be brave
Choose wisely
Wolves in sheep's clothing
I'm going to go with Callum O'Kane
Good luck
I'm sorry, I'm sorry
No, don't be sorry
It's fine
It's wonderful
Come on, let's go
Put me in wolves in sheep's clothing
I'm going to take her down
Well done
Sorry, what are you sorry for?
That wasn't even running with that
Who's the wolf?
Me or Ricky?
Or both?
Me
Oh, you're the wolf
in sheep's clothing?
Apparently
But isn't that just like
a wolf with wool trousers?
Does it have to be like
sheep, sheep?
I don't know what she means
I think she's just being
metaphorical
Oh, okay
I'm sorry, I'm sorry
I didn't mean that
Wow
Oh my God
And I told myself
that I'd be strong
And dreaming
when they're gone
Babe
I'm standing
in an unknown place
A place
I feel safe
You show the light
So to stop me
you turn to stone
And shining
when I'm alone
And then I told myself
that I'd be strong
And dreaming
when they're gone
So to stop me
you turn to stone
And shining
when I'm alone
Hi, my name's Joe Woolford
I'm 19 years old
and I'm from North Wales
Is that blasphemy?
Not necessarily
Don't give up hope yet
Listen, you got three turns
These two have to duke it out
with the King of Wales
Because the conspiracy is
Mr. Jones here
is the ruler
of all singers of Wales
Everyone in Wales loves you, Tom
Everyone in Wales loves you
Good luck, guys
Hey, mate
Are you okay?
I'm more than okay
I had a little moment with Ricky
I was like, I love him
I like it
He said, I'm gonna turn
I said, no!
And then I turned
and then he turned straight away
Your lights didn't stop
because you got three lights right here
I can't thank you enough
Thank you all so much
That's a good thing
Thank you so much
You don't know how much it means
to me, everyone
Seriously
That song is one of my favourite songs
and I haven't heard a guy
singing it before
And you really did it justice
Thank you
And you really captivated
what it meant
to be the only person
on that stage
and you
I'm getting so nervous
because I now have to
fight against Tom
and I don't know
what else to say
apart from
please pick me
because I'm the only girl
and also
we make so much
beautiful music together
Hello, Rita
Hello
Yeah, but I can't compete with that
So, you know
Thank you for coming here today
Thanks for having me
Now, North Wales
Yes
What part of North Wales?
It's called
It's a county called Danbushire
Yeah, yeah
A little town called Rithyn
Alright
The thing that came through
to me
more than anything else
was
your determination
You know, you
You got a little shaky
towards the end there
but that's nerves
I understand that
But
but apart from that
I loved what I
what I was listening to
Thank you
I'm not pushing
the Welsh connection here
but
No, but I just love
what you do, so
Thank you so much
I really appreciate it
Hi, are you okay?
Hi, how are you doing?
I'm alright now
Relieved
I think everyone's kind of
discounted the fact that
I'm going to fight for this
And it's a tough fight
because obviously
Pretty Girl
King of Wales
Now, I'm not the most famous
person on this line-up
I'm not even the most famous
person in the audience
And I might not have
many interesting names
in my phone book
And
I'm not even that busy
And I can't offer you
a lot of things that they can
But what I can offer you
is
all of me
all of my time
Everything I know
to try and make you
a great
performer
It's literally
probably the best thing
I've ever done is
perform in front of
the likes of you lot
You're all amazing
and it's
literally going to be
such a hard choice for me
And also
you're what I've been
waiting for as well
Welcome to Be Welsh
What a choice man
Thank you all so much
I've made my decision
And like I said
thank you all so much
But
I'm going to go with Rita
Great choice by the way
She's lovely
She's a great girl
Thank you so much
Go and celebrate
You were incredible
Thank you very much
He was amazing
It was obvious
he was amazing
And
I'm getting pretty good
at pitching
Ricky it works on women
but you can't do that
to boys
You can't do that
What?
The whole vulnerable
I wanted it
That was the truth
He was good wasn't he?
I'm extremely
extremely happy
that you picked me
It's an advantage
when you come from
the same place
as the contestant
But it doesn't always work
