Welcome back to grow from cuttings.
Can you believe that a small rose cutting like this can turn into a healthy new plant with
beautiful blooms? Stay until the end, because a small tip later in this video could be the
secret to helping your rose cutting stay healthy and root much faster.
First, trim the cutting neatly so the plant can focus its energy on developing roots.

It's amazing that we can connect and talk with each other from all around the world.
After trimming it neatly,
take one clove of garlic and gently apply it to the cut end of the cutting.
Now we're going to prepare the rooting solution, and the next ingredient is one shallot.
Shallots are a very common natural ingredient,
but they can support cuttings in several very helpful ways.
After chopping the shallot into small pieces,
place it in a cup so its natural compounds can infuse into the water more easily.
Add two tablespoons of honey to the cup with the shallot.
Honey may help create a natural protective layer and support the cutting in the early stage.
Next, I'm going to use sand as the rooting medium for the cutting.
Ian, after about 15 minutes, the natural compounds from the shallot and honey have
blended into the water well, and now it's time to use a small strainer to filter out the liquid.
Next, I gently cover the cutting with a plastic bag
to help lock in moisture during the rooting stage.
After about 8-10 days, it's a good time to check how the cutting is doing.
This is the exciting part, the cutting has already started to grow new shoots.
It's incredible, not only have new shoots appeared, but bright white roots have formed too.
After the rooting stage, I move the young cutting into pre-moistened coconut coir
so it has a light, moisture-attentive environment
that helps it adjust more easily as it continues to grow.
Thank you for being here and staying with me until the end of the video.
