#canon#canonCINESERVO401200mm#CINESERVO401200mm The CINE SERVO 40–1200mm T5.0–10.8 is a remarkable achievement in optics, offering a lightweight and compact design while delivering unprecedented focal length. The built-in 1.5x extender allows the lens to reach an 1800mm equivalent focal length on Super 35mm sensors!
The lens natively covers Super 35mm sensors, with the integrated 1.5x extender further expanding its versatility to support full-frame sensor cameras.
The drive unit has been redesigned with Focus Breathing Compensation and a newly-added USB-C terminal. When paired with USB‑PD, it increases the speed of the zoom and focus servo motor.
In the demanding world of professional productions such as sports, live events, cinema, and houses of worship, the CINE-SERVO 40–1200mm keeps up and helps to elevate every shot.
Hi, I'm Ryan Snyder with Canon USA and I'm here to tell you about an exciting
new introduction to our award-winning cinema lens line.
When Canon introduced the CineServo 50-1000mm lens in 2014,
it was a landmark achievement for long zoom cinema lenses.
Its incredible zoom range was unprecedented at the time for a super 35mm lens,
and it quickly became popular with wildlife cinematographers and live event productions.
Building on that success and the feedback that we've gathered from users,
we're going both longer and wider with our latest introduction,
the CineServo 40-1200mm T5-10.8 lens.
This lens, which will be available in both PL and RF mount versions,
carries on Canon's legacy of optical excellence,
capable of delivering stunning 8K imagery and beautiful bokeh.
Like our other CineServo lenses, it's got super 35mm sensor coverage,
and when the built-in 1.5x extender is engaged,
it offers you added versatility with an extended focal range of up to 1800mm.
It's also compatible with full-frame sensors with the use of the extender.
The range on this lens makes it ideal for sports,
live events, cinema, and houses of worship,
not to mention letting you capture nature and wildlife scenes.
Amazingly, we've been able to extend the focal range
while keeping the lens the same length and weight
as the CineServo 50-1000mm lens.
This compact, portable footprint will allow the 40-1200mm
to fit into aerial and car mount solutions for even more versatility.
Like every other piece of Canon glass,
this lens is equipped with optical elements
that are engineered with meticulous precision
to reduce distortions and aberrations,
helping to ensure your shots look the best in all kinds of lighting conditions.
The newly developed drive unit is equipped with a USB-C port,
just like the drive unit on the CineServo 11-55mm lens.
This allows users to save and load individual user preferences.
What sets it apart from that lens is that the newer drive unit
also supports USB power delivery.
By supplying power to the drive unit via USB PD,
the zoom servo speed from full wide to full tele
can be increased from approximately 1.5 seconds to around 1 second.
The new drive unit is also equipped with focus breathing compensation
to help ensure smooth, natural focus transitions.
With RF mount communication,
the lens supports dual-pixel CMOS AF2 and FocusGuide,
helping you keep up with fast-moving live events.
The RF mount also empowers compensation
for peripheral illumination and chromatic aberration,
as well as distortion correction.
When paired with this EOS C400 cinema camera,
it delivers auto exposure ramping compensation
for light loss during zooming at the tele end of the focal range.
The PL mount version will offer support
for both Cookeye technology and Zeiss Extended Data
to deliver external output of lens metadata.
All versions of the lens will feature a 12-pin serial connection
for lens camera communication.
The CineServo 40-1200 lens is scheduled to be available in September
in both RF and PL mount.
