I focus a great deal on food and historic sites, as you probably have seen! I love to experience the different flavors that each destination has to offer, whether it’s casual Street food or gourmet restaurant dining. I’m also passionate about learning the local history and culture.
Hello everyone. So here day, I don't know, nine. We're here in Tongole wilderness lodge and right
now we're going on a guided walking tour right next to the river and we're gonna see hopefully
we see some animals and we're gonna walk about three four miles to some waterfalls. Christopher
is our guide. Christopher say hello. Hello. And so what do you think we're gonna see right now?
Crocodiles, lots of big species, the hammer corpse, the kingfishers,
yeah the water bugs, the bush bugs, maybe elephants too. Elephants. Can't wait. Let's go.
It's gone.
All right so what we have behind me is the fever tree. This tree is full of thorns and elephants
love this tree. The reason why they call it the fever tree is because what the locals do is they
take the thorns, they boil them in water and then they drink the water if they're sick and they get
cured from a fever.
All right so right here we spotted some fresh elephant doo-doo.
So elephants should be around here we just heard them.
So it's taken us about three hours and in three minutes we'll be at the falls
and Zane is already there and we're gonna have coffee and tea.
I think he's gonna have coffee and tea for us. So we're a little unlucky we didn't see any
elephants or crocodiles but I'm sure we'll see some later. All right so we're gonna have
some muffins, some coffee, just relax.
All right so right now we're getting close to the waterfall so it's a little bit of a mission
walking on these rocks but Christopher my guide is helping me get there.
Christopher it's beautiful.
We're going to go out in the river. Chris is going to take the lead with a weapon just in
case we come across any elephants or anything. We're going to head about a kilometer upstream
to the rapids. We'll get out there, sit on the bank, have a drink,
look at the view and then drift back down to the lodge. Awesome. Chris protect us. Yes.
Four. Four riverside rooms. We're in Enkotakote Game Reserve. It's one of the oldest
and largest protected areas in Malawi. 1,802 square kilometers.
