This video is brought to you in part by Tour Galicia. Good morning everyone so it's day two
of our trip here in Galicia, Spain and right now it's 10 a.m and it's raining here in Orense but
hopefully hopefully it clears up you know through the rest of the day. The good thing is that the
sun is leaving uh it's setting very late about 7 30 every day you know and it gets later it goes
it sets later and later and later as the days get closer to summer and about at around noon
one o'clock we're gonna go to a restaurant called Galileo about 10 minutes outside of town
supposedly it's one of the best restaurants here in the city or in the surrounding area of the
city and right now we're gonna go check out the historical center let's go. All right so I don't
know if you knew this but Orense is the thermal hot spring capital of Galicia and we have behind
which is a hot spring come here look at the steam oh it's like it's on fire
I'm gonna burn my hands and another fun fact is that there's a few different um
places where you can actually go into the hot springs they have like spa
sections there's a one right here and then there's three along the river
all right so be careful don't burn your hands like I just did
hello everyone so I'm here at the restaurant Galileo it's about a 10 minute drive outside
of Orense and everybody told me that I had to check it out it's one of the best restaurants
in the area and the chef is from Italy his name is Flavio now let's go inside check it out
all right so what we have right here is a little vegetable shot so you take it like a shot
basically wow it's delicious asparagus it's hot
and right next to it we have a little what is this
is it shrimp
yeah like that
is
all right so right now I'm standing inside the Plaza Mayor the main
Square in Orense and down here to the left we have the Fontana de Burgas up here in front
of us.
Right behind here we have the main cathedral, alright?
And then this is the historical center, this whole area right here, okay?
And this building right here, this is the city hall and it was erected in 1888, which
you can see right there.
The difference between this plaza mayor and many other plaza mayors that I've seen in
Spain is this one's like a hill, so you can see right now we're going down and if you
go up there, you're going up.
Very nice, very northern architecture, this is very similar to northern Portugal and Asturias,
very similar.
So you get the glass and the balconies, they're all indoor, so you can see that right there.
Indoor balconies, very cool.
