This year I completed 25 years in the film industry and I cannot remember how many times I've practiced a speech for this award. This has been a dream and I'm just so touched and humbled by this and to receive it in front of my family is even more special. There's a host of people I need to thank, so please Karthik, hold on for now. Be careful till then. Karthik has got very emotional and has made me speak thinking I'm not going to be emotional. I'm not going to forget you. Dada, this is all because of you. Thank you so much for believing in me and having the vision and the faith that I could play Arjun. To my beautiful producer Ronnie, Ritesh, Pushar for writing just a wonderful, wonderful script. Abhigda for shooting it so beautifully. To the two most audacious and beautiful actors that we had on the film, Perli and Ahilya. Ahilya, I know you're here somewhere. Thank you for making me such a wonderful father in the film. To all the directors and producers that have worked with me and believed in me and given me a chance over the last 25 years. It's not been easy, but it's definitely been worth it. To all the younger actors sitting here today, this is what 25 years of hard work and belief gets you. So never stop believing. You have a dream. Believe in it. Believe in yourself and chase it. This is my first ever Filmfare Best Actor Award. Kartik, congratulations. You are the future. And it is so wonderful to share this with you. Not only as an actor, but as a person. I've always loved you and admired you. Congratulations. More importantly to your parents, because they're here to witness you win this. To all my fellow colleagues who are nominated with me, thank you so much for your inspiration. To this lady sitting there, who's never been very demonstrative of her desires and prayers, but she's quietly prayed that her son one day gets to stand up here and give this speech. I love you, mom. Thank you for your love, for your talent, and your what? Your belief. Let's hope this is the start of good things. I was waiting in the wings at the start of the evening, and I was wondering what gift I should bring for dad on his birthday. So thank you, Filmfare. You've just provided me with a fantastic present for my father. He's going to be so happy. I need to thank my team, Vivek and Reshma, for always pushing me and for pushing me to do this film when I doubted myself. To my manager, the amazing Basuri and Prashant, who have stood by me through thick and thin. To my team, especially Vinod Yadav, Vinod Upadhyay, Ganesh, who wake me up every day and make sure I'm able to give my best. To my entire family, who are here. I'm a handful at times, but I hope this makes it worth it, and I become a bit more bearable. To Aishwarya and to Aradhya, thank you for... I thought this was going to be a lot easier. How have you done this so many times, Shah? To Aishwarya and Aradhya for allowing me to go out and follow my dreams and hopefully, by winning this, they see that their sacrifices have been one of the main reasons why I stand here today. I want to dedicate this award to two very special people. This film is about a father and a daughter. I want to dedicate this to my hero, my father, and to my other hero, my daughter. So, thank you so much. I cannot tell you what this means to me. And like I said, keep believing, stick to your convictions, fight the good fight. 25 years might be long, but it'll pay off. Thank you. Thank you so much. Well done, Abhishek and Adha. 25, 50, 60 years of your great acting. You have been, I don't want to sound patronizing, one of the most wonderful actors this country has ever seen. Well done and truly deserved. Bless you, ma'am. The award goes to Aishwarya Roy. One will day to kill him for me. Thank you very much. Thank you, God. I thank my family. I thank my audience, most of all, and this industry for having given me this opportunity to recognize the actress in me. Thank you, Sanjay, for a brilliant script. I thank the whole unit of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam because without your support, without your love, without your encouragement, I would not have been able to deliver. Thank you, Salman, Ajay, Anil, Mehta, Ismail, Nitin, just everybody, the whole unit. I'm sorry I'm making you hold this award. Thank you very much. The truth is, I had a bit of a fall, an accident about a week ago. I slipped and fell down the staircase right outside my house. I thank God and my parents. I didn't have a big accident. I mean, no bones broken. People said, why are you taking this form today? Why do you want to go looking like this to a function? To that, I'd like to say this is the one opportunity I get to thank my audience and this industry because of whom I'm here on this stage and because of whom I've received this award. I wouldn't let this opportunity go by. So, thank you very much. It's heartfelt and this award is for the art form of acting, for talent which goes beyond what you see. So that's what I've come to acknowledge. Thank you very, very much.
