Are We Living In The Last Days? Many want to know about the times in which we live. Are we near the end times? The Bible pinpoints the last days rather accurately. It shows that the last days were fulfilled in the closing days of National Israel and the Old Covenant.
Are we living in the last days? The answer to that question is no. According to Genesis chapter 49
verses 1 and 2, the scripture says Jacob called together his sons to tell them what would befall
or happen to them in the last days. Part of the last day's prophecy was the coming of Christ,
Genesis 49 and verse 10, where the text says the scepter shall not depart from Judah nor a
lawgiver from between his feet until Shiloh comes. And in the New Testament, we see that Christ came
in the end of the age, according to Hebrews chapter 9 and verse 26, for he had appeared in
the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And hence God spoke to us by his son
in the last days. Jesus certainly died before the Christian age or before the church began,
and therefore in the last days of the old covenant age. Also attended of the last days coming was the
coming of the Holy Spirit, according to Joel 2, 28 through 32, where Joel says the spirit
will be poured out. Peter confirms this in Acts chapter 2, 17 through 20, when he says this is
that which was spoken by the prophet Joel. Malachi chapter 4 and verse 5 prophesied that Elijah would
come before the great and notable day of the Lord, therefore in the last days. And Peter confirmed
that or rather Luke confirmed that that occurred in Luke 1, 16 and 17, as well as Matthew chapter
17 and verse 13. In addition, the kingdom of God would come in the last days, according to Daniel
2, 44 and 45, in the days of these kings, referring to the Roman kings. But the kingdom would also
be taken from the Jews in those times, indicating that was the last days, according to Matthew 21,
41 through 43, Matthew 8, 11 and 12, and also Galatians chapter 4 and verse 30. And finally,
we have the regathering of Israel, according to Hosea chapter 1, verses 9 through 11, which Peter
says was fulfilled according to first Peter chapter 2, verses 9 through 10. And therefore,
the last days belong to the time of the first century.
