Now, a clip has gone viral of Mariah Carey struggling to hit those high notes while
practicing for her performance.
Kinsey, at least she's singing.
It's not just a backing track.
She doesn't seem to be using autotune or it's not working there.
She's at least trying to put in a performance.
Has the voice gone, though?
Let's be honest, we don't know the circumstances here.
I mean, I truly haven't heard her sing live in such a long time.
But like to your point, I do appreciate and I celebrate the fact that she's given it her
all. But, you know, if I were her, I'd sit back.
I'd look at all the trophies on my shelf.
I'd look at the list of all the successful songs I'd contributed to writing.
And I just say I'm going to let Sabrina Carpenter or whoever and enjoy the limelight.
And I'm just going to enjoy all of my my piles of money that I've accumulated over the
years. I don't know if we need if this is what we're getting.
I don't know if that needs to be on tour.
Well, the same thing happened with Whitney right at the end.
The voice went and she was getting booed at some concerts.
And yeah, you don't want the legends to be remembered that way.
Go out on top.
Now, the king of pop talking about legends, Michael Jackson, is the latest musical star
to be remembered in a musical motion picture.
But the reviews have not been good.
The film, which stars his nephew Jafar, sits at a measly 34 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
And Kinsey, one of the criticisms of the film has been the decision not to include the
child abuse allegations that rock the latter part of Jackson's career.
Yeah, I mean, I even heard Paris Jackson kind of hinting at this in a video online
suggesting like, look, I am really not associated with it.
I understand that someone else has painted a very, you know, a very different picture
from the reality, kind of hinting at the scandals of the past.
But you can't tell the story of Michael Jackson without addressing addressing the most
controversial chapters.
We expect transparency, not selective storytelling.
There's no happily ever after here.
And when you omit something that's significant and undermines the credibility of the
entire project, I ask myself constantly if I believe those claims, you know, like that's
something that I still, you know, am frustrated and worried about.
You cannot leave that out of a movie about this man's life.
Absolutely. I agree.
I'm with you.
I don't have a definitive position on what I believe happened.
I've heard both sides and both sides have got some compelling points, but you can't make
a motion picture like that and not include it, even if you take his family's approach,
that these allegations weren't true and show that side of it or stay somewhere in the
middle. You can't just ignore a massive part of history that we're all aware of already.
Kinsey Schofield, always a pleasure.
Thanks for your time tonight.
