Hi guys, welcome back to my channel. I hope you're having a great day
so far and welcome to today's video which is going to be all about
Dior Spring and Summer as well as the Addict
Glass lipsticks which, let me tell you, when I saw these
I lost my marbles a little bit and I know so many of you as soon as you
saw the sneak peeks that this was coming
you thought of me because you will know if you've been here before that I
am a huge Dior addict. Unsurprisingly that's what they aimed for and that's
what they got. I'm a huge fan of the original, the OG
Dior Addict lipsticks. I have many, many, many of them in my
collection so a new, even glassier, shinier
take on those, of course I immediately had to have them.
So today I'm going to be sharing my picks of this stunning,
very, very tempting collection, what I think you should grab, what I think you
should pass on, as well as swatches, a demo and
comparisons to some similar and previous products from
Dior as well as some other brands. So without further ado, let's get started.
Okay, so let's take a look at this mahoosive
whooper of a collection from Dior. I feel like Dior are doing this more and more
frequently where they dropped like 29 products
all at once that are all extremely tempting
and it's very easy to get carried away and buy all of them,
isn't it? Because Dior have cracked the code, they're on to us,
they know what we're looking for and they're throwing all of it
right down our gizzards. So I'm here to help you separate the wheat from the
chaff because there is some chaff, as much as Dior would like to sprinkle
glitter on it. It's there, believe me. So as part of this
collection, we have the bronzes, we're going to circle
back round to those in a moment, the highlighter, which I did pick up
against my initial plan, but again we'll circle back to that in a
moment. We then have a couple of eyeshadow
palettes which I passed on, as you know if you've been here before,
I'm not an eyeshadow palette from Dior kind of girl,
I just am never really thrilled by them, they're expensive
and therefore it's an easy pass for me. As beautiful as they look,
I know for me they just won't tickle my pickle.
The eyeshadow sticks, now I did already demonstrate
and give all of my thoughts on the eyeshadow stick that I picked up. I
picked up one shade, Beige Mitzah. I'm not really an eyeshadow stick
kind of girl but I did want to try the formula for you guys,
and you can see and hear all of my thoughts on that one in my most recent
makeup and movies that went up Monday. And then we have some new shades of
their existing products, we've got new shades of their glosses and we also have
a new shade of their Forever Glow liquid highlighter. And out of
everything that I just spoke about, including,
interestingly, the eyeshadow sticks, everything there
appears to be limited edition as part of their spring
summer collection. I was surprised, not about the bronzers or the highlighters
or the lip glosses, because they all appear to be limited
edition when they do these sort of seasonal collections. They'll do limited
edition shades or limited edition highlighters or bronzers pretty much
every year. But I was expecting the eyeshadow sticks to be
permanent, but according to the Dior website they're currently listed as
limited edition. They may well be back but currently
that's what it says. Then we have, of course, these glass
lipsticks. Be Still, My Beating Heart. These were an
immediate yes. You know if you've been here before how
much of a fan I am of the Dior Addicts shiny lipsticks
and the reason I love them so much is because they're so shiny and I just
love a shiny lipstick. Not a big fan of a gloss.
I'm very discriminatory against a gloss but I love
a lipstick to be as shiny as humanly possible, so I know Dior can do these
kind of lipsticks incredibly well because I have loved and adored the
original Dior Addicts. So of course I had to go and grab some
of these as soon as they arrived. So these are
available in 16 shades currently. I hope we're going to see more and more and
these appear to be permanent. They do not say
limited on the website, so fingers crossed these are permanent. And knowing
Dior, what they did with the original Dior
Addicts shiny lipsticks, these should grow and grow in numbers
hopefully, as we see if they're success or
otherwise. And they are available in two finishes.
It's not, I'm not sure about other countries, but currently on the Dior UK
website, the finishes aren't separated out, so
you just kind of need to have a look at the swatches
to figure out which finish it is. It appears to me that we have
four of the glitter finish shades, which are
Gem Dior, Dioris Me and Coral Star and then Sparkly Dice. So those are the
four that, as far as I can tell, have the sparkly finish and the rest
have a shiny finish. So I picked up three shades, one of the
full component and then two of the refills, because just like
the, let's do this properly, because just like the
OG Dior Addicts shiny lipsticks, these come
with refills. They are refillable, they have interchangeable cases and Dior have
already launched one new limited special case as part of
this release. So I grabbed Coral Star, Rosy Dior and Dior
Sweet. So I've got two of the shiny finish and one of the
sparkly finish, so we can see both finishes in action today.
I just want to quickly circle back about the
bronzer versus highlighter decision. So if you watch my Will I Buy It? where I
spoke about this collection, my initial plan was to pick up the
bronzer and not the highlighter, because I have
a lot of Dior highlighters and much as I love them, there's only so much
that could be different about this new one. But I did
adore this Lady Bird floral design. It's absolutely stunning and it just reminds
me so much of like our spring and summer, because there are ladybirds in
the garden, there's daisies everywhere and it just really
feels like very, it just is stunning and it feels very
homely to me as well. It really feels like it's sort of, you know, part of our
spring and summer here. So I had to have one of those
components. I initially thought I would get the bronzer,
no question it looks outrageously beautiful, however as soon as I
discovered that these were the same bronzers that
we've had for the last few years that I hate,
I was out, okay. I know it's beautiful to look at
but they aren't stunning bronzers, that's my opinion. I've never got along with
them well. They've released this same Coral and Rosy, Rose and Peachy or Rose
and Coral, two shades of bronzer for the last
couple of years, the same formula. They're exceedingly orange,
they're exceedingly warm, they're not a particularly exciting
finish or formula. I far prefer Dior's permanent bronzers,
so once I saw that I already have this bronzer,
I decided to go with the highlighter instead, because although it is a Dior
highlighter that I do have, I don't have this specific shade, so I
decided I'd rather have that and get the ladybird packaging that way
than have the bronzer that I know I won't use and I don't like. So that's
what happened there, if you were wondering.
So all I grabbed from this collection was the highlighter
and then three of the lipsticks, which I guess aren't really part of the spring
summer collection, they're kind of a separate permanent launch
that just happened to occur at the same time.
Now I did get this stunning packaging when I ordered this
collection. The butterflies, absolutely glorious. Whether or not you
receive this will just be down to availability, you know, while stocks last
once it's gone, it's gone, but I was exceedingly happy
to receive this. Side note, but who do you think won the spring
summer packaging contest? Chanel with the gorgeous camellia flowers and the
little gem detail there, or Dior with the
butterflies? These luxury brands are really going in
for the packaging, aren't they? And I am here for it. People always ask me how I
get those special packagings, all you need to do is select
at checkout instead of, there's like an eco option
or you can select the couture, it's usually called the couture
packaging and it doesn't always show you what packaging it is,
but if you select that one and they have a special packaging like these
then you'll get it. The only reason you might not get it is if it's not available
in your country or if they are out of stock. So let's take
a close-up look at the products that I chose and do some swatches.
First of all let's take a look at this outrageously
stunning ladybird daisy combination, exactly the same packaging in the
bronzer and the highlighter, so whichever you prefer this will be
the same component. And here is the product
itself, now you may notice that this looks quite sparkly
in the pan, that did have me concerned, it does look
very glittery and sparkly, really really pretty, it has this sort of peachy shift
to it and it's a lot more subtle and luminous
than I expected based on the pan and how sparkly it looks. And next we have
the addict glass lipsticks, so this is the
standard component not the refill, this is the one that you will get
if you pay £39 and get the full bullet rather than a refill,
beautiful mirrored shine but very susceptible to fingerprints and
smudges. These are a click up just like the
hourglass phantom glossy balms but these do twist
back down thank goodness. So this shade is coral star which is the
one of the three shades that I picked up that has the
sparkly finish, absolutely outrageously beautiful. I'm so
excited to get these on my lips. They do twist back down which I'm very
happy about because it's so tricky with those hourglass ones, if you don't use
everything you've twisted up it could be a mess, so I appreciate that.
And then this is what the refills look like, so exactly the same as the
original Dior Addict refills but they have a black cap. This is the
OG Dior Addict shiny lipstick component in the black and then this is the
glass finish, so you can see they're really easy to tell apart.
And then this is the original Dior Addict shiny lipstick
refill with the white cap and this is the new glass with the
black cap. This is Dior Sweet, kind of the nude that I went for
in the collection, just perfect everyday nude shade and this is the shiny finish
and you can see that in comparison to the sparkly finish. And then finally we
have Rosy Dior and that is
kind of a mauve, a soft mauve rose, gorgeous. So I know a lot of you will
probably want to know whether or not these new glass lipsticks
will fit in the OG Dior Addict shiny lipstick components
and are they interchangeable and they are. So this is one of the OG Dior Addict
shiny lipstick holders and they do fit, you can
interchange them however you would like. You could put the
Addicts in the new components for the glass
and vice versa, they are the exact same component.
So you can mix and match however you'd like with the components, which I love
that they did that and didn't make us buy a load of new ones, which is ideal.
Now I'm just going to show you a swatch of one of the Dior Addicts. This is Nude
Mitzah to show you the difference in the
finish. So this is Nude Mitzah, this is one of
the OG Dior Addict shiny lipsticks and then
here we have the glass. So you can see there was a big
difference in the amount of shine in the finish, regardless of the
sparkly or the shiny finish. They're all much shinier than the Dior Addicts
which has me very excited. The other difference
with the OG Addicts versus the glass is that they twist up and down as
opposed to having that click mechanism. So those are all of the
swatches, let's jump into a demo and try these
products on this face and lips right here. I'm
just going to clip my hair a little out the way using my bougie
Dior hair clips because why the devil not?
And I'm going to use my Sonia G Alpine 4, my current favourite highlighter
brush and we're just going to start whacking this on the cheekbones and
everywhere else. We love to highlight wherever the light
hits. I'm loving this brush for highlighter, I love that you can use the
tip down the bridge of your nose and the side
of the brush to hug the cheekbone, really pretty. I like this
highlighter a lot more than I expected to. I think
when I saw how sparkly it was in the pan, I thought it's not going to
It really gives you that glass skin effect and it's so pretty
and really not too much. It doesn't hugely emphasise
texture despite having some shimmer to it. I find it super pretty
and it does really melt beautifully into my skin tone, it's perfect
for my skin tone. For reference, today I'm wearing the La Prairie
foundation in the shade Satin Nude. I'm not in my
summer skin tone yet but my skin has seen the sun
so I'm not in my starkest winter shade yet either. I'd say I'm sort of a medium
skin tone right now. Just gorgeous, really flattering, really
pretty, really effortless, like a perfect everyday
highlighter to be honest, which I love. This component, I never want to
put it in a drawer, I just want it to live
on my desk so I can stare at it all day long
and also name my ladybird. I haven't thought of a name yet but
she needs one. Now I'm just going to wipe off, all I've got on at the moment
is the... where is she? We've lost her. Here she is.
All I've got on at the moment is the Tatcha gold
kiss you lip mask, so I'm just going to wipe that off. So
let's start off with Dior Sweet. They feel very nice on the lips,
very buttery and smooth. I'm in heaven. I'll need 46 more of these.
They have the same fragrance as the original Dior Addicts.
Is it peach? Someone told me once that it was peach and I'm not sure that quite
just hits the exact note on the head but it's stunning whatever it is and I
live for it. I think I'm in love. It's love at first sight.
I knew I would love these and you guys knew that I would love these because
they're just right up my street. I feel like these are the
perfect sweet spot between the YSL candy glazes
that have this amount of pigment and this amount of shine but are quite
thick, so a lot of people don't like that.
They're kind of thicker, a little trickier to apply because they are that
sort of melting thicker formula and then you will feel
them on the lips because they are quite thick and heavier. I don't really mind
that. It's worth it for me to get the
stunning glassy shine. These are, they feel as light and thin on
the lips as the OG Dior Addicts shiny lipsticks
but they have way more shine to them and you can tell that they're not going to
disappear straight off your lips either because they have a bit more substance.
They're not as thin on the lips as the original Dior
Addicts. Let's do a hand test. I mean that's
nowhere near as much transfer as you might expect from such a
shiny lipstick. They feel delightful. She's perfect. I
already know these are not going to leave my lips,
I mean ever again, but certainly not throughout the spring and summer. They
feel light but super balmy. They feel like a
slightly heavier version of the Lisa Eldridge Bourne Embraces.
If you're looking for a comparison, they feel buttery
but not in a slippy way, if that makes sense.
Stunning. Rosie Dior now. So pretty. So flattering on lines as well.
You know, these aren't plumping in the way that they have that tingling burning
sensation. They do feel super hydrating though,
I will say that, but they give your lips the appearance of
more plumpness because they're so shiny. Very flattering on lip lines and texture
also. And now we're going to try the sparkly
finished Coral Star. This does feel different going on, not
that it feels grainy or anything like that, it doesn't
feel like, you know, sandpapery, but it doesn't feel as smooth as the
shiny finish. Not rough by any stretch of the imagination, just not as
completely smooth as the shiny. Wow, that's really clever because on
the lips it feels the same. There is not a single hint of grittiness
or graininess on the lips. It feels completely
smooth, exactly the same as the shiny finish, which is amazing.
And I think if you're wanting maximum shine
because of the shimmer that is in here, this is going to look shinier. So this is
the sparkly finish shades are the way to go if you just want the maximum
glassiness. It also, you can't see the shimmer or the sparkle on the lips, it
just looks glossy and glassy and feels amazing. I'm just going to add
some of the Toffee Blush with my Sonia Alpine 3
to finish everything off. Okay, so before I give you my final
thoughts on this collection, I thought I would share
some Dior highlighter swatches so you can see
where this new one sits if you do, like me, have
several sort of nude shades of highlighter from Dior. This is the shade
Sunkissed. Let's try it next to Nude Halo, which is
a hair lighter and you can see the difference in tone there.
Nude Halo is more gold and then this new shade Sunkissed does have that
sort of peachy tone to it. We'll do a close-up at
the end. Next I have Nude Riviera.
This is going to be a bit more pinky, yes, in fact a lot more pinky
and quite a lot more intense actually. And then finally we have
Nude Glow. I think that's the closest in shade.
So this is the new Sunkissed shade at the top and then we have the existing
shades which all look quite a bit more
intense in certain lights. I also thought it might be helpful
to show you comparisons to two other luxury highlighters that have arrived
around the same time as this new one in case you are choosing
between them or in case you are trying to decide
whether this one is different enough to the others that have launched recently
to justify having them all. So this is shade 2 Amalfi
in the new Tom Ford formula and then we have the new Sisley
highlighter. Breathtaking. So the Tom Ford is definitely the most
intense and Sisley I think is the most subtle.
The Dior is kind of in between the two potentially
and it is the only one of the three that has sort of more noticeable
sparkle. Okay, so the highlighter. Let's start off with that now. We all have
4062 highlighters at this point. Is this one
the formula alone? Forgetting the Lady Bird.
Is this different, special, unique as far as highlighters go? No, it's not.
If you own a lot of highlighters you certainly don't need
this one. It's not a Rev de Camellia. It's not a complete
unicorn of a highlighter that does something especially different.
Is it a pretty, beautiful, everyday highlighter with
the most precious, delightful packaging you've ever seen in your life?
Yes in my opinion and I will use and love it a lot
but as far as the product itself it's not something
wildly different or better than all of the other highlighters.
So if you just want this for the packaging like
I did then you won't be disappointed. If you're expecting the highlighter
itself to be different to those that you probably already own
it's not really. These new lipsticks. For me this is
the thing to be excited about from Dior lately.
I feel, you know, we've seen a lot of stunning packaging, a lot of stunning
embossing and presentation of products but at the end of
the day what we want is products that are
beautiful and different and special that we can use and love a lot
and these are that for me. I have had a very long
delightful, happy love affair with the Dior Addict shiny lipsticks
and I feel like this is the first time I'm using these and of course I've been
in a long-term relationship with the Dior Addicts but I think these have
gazumped them just because they're that little bit more shiny
and for me the shinier the better. They have everything else I love
about the original Dior Addicts. They're comfortable, they're light, they have that
stunning scent. They haven't got quite as extensive a
shade range but these have just launched and obviously the Dior Addicts have
added shades over time so hopefully we get
more and more shades because I want like 30 of these in every colour under the
rainbow. That's how much I love them and there
aren't that many shades, there's not very many nudes, typically Dior go very
heavy with reds and pinks in their offerings so I want more nudes and
corals and peachy tones please Dior but the lipsticks themselves
I'm really impressed by. They feel amazing,
they look gorgeous, they've got the perfect amount of pigment, they're very
easy going, they're very comfortable, they feel
hydrating, they feel like a lip mask, no tingling or burning or stinging or
cooling etc. They just feel hydrated like you've got a glorious lip mask on that's
completely weightless with gorgeous, gorgeous glass-like high
shine but without having to feel it on your lips
and I'm really pleasantly surprised by the sparkly finish that you don't feel
that. Doesn't feel grainy, doesn't feel
glittery. I'm in heaven. So there you have it, a
successful day. I've been enjoying the highlighter much
more than I expected to especially once I started seeing swatches
and started seeing the product I really thought it's going to be too glittery
and sparkly for me but I think on the cheeks it really works
and it's really pretty. The lipsticks, spectacular. Give me 14 of
them right now. So please let me know what did you pick up
from the spring summer collection? Was it nothing? Was it everything? Was it
a couple of pieces here and there? What do you think of these new glass
lipsticks? Are they for you? Are you more of a matte lipstick
kind of person? Let me know all of your thoughts in the comments section
down below but thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed this
video and found it helpful and I would love to see you in the next
one, otherwise take care for now, bye.
