It's a Graceville where God's love is everywhere. It's me, Pastor Anastasia and I'm so super duper
excited that you've joined me today as we learn more about our best friend Jesus. Today's special
feature comes to us from right here in the United States where my friends the Elliotts have prepared
a beautiful instrumental to remind us of how powerful our God is. Let's listen in.
That was awesome! Boys and girls remember if you want to share the cool things that you're doing
please ask your parents or guardians to inbox me and I'd be happy to share it with our friends.
It's just about time for us to mosey on down to nature time with our friend Ryan from Canada. I
can't wait to see who or what we're learning about today. Let's go! Hello boys and girls and welcome
again to nature time at Graceville. Today we're going to be talking about why God made us. In
other words what's our purpose in life. What do I mean by that? Well God made us all for a reason.
Even little creatures have a purpose like the ones you'll see here. But before we go on remember to
check with your parents or guardian before touching any animal or insect. Look at these spiders I found
on my trampoline. What's their purpose? Spiders help control bugs that can harm the food we grow
to eat. Here's another little friend that's important. Caterpillars. They provide food for
other animals and some turn into butterflies. And here's one more I found last year in our backyard.
A baby bunny. These cute creatures help to keep weeds away. They even make great pets because
they help us humans with our physical and mental health. What about us? Do we have important roles
to play in our community? Matthew chapter 28 verse 19 it says, go therefore and make disciples of all
the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. We might
not be the ones to baptize but we can find many other ways to share the gospel. Like saying kind
words, helping each other out, and even a simple smile can prepare someone else to accept Jesus
into their hearts. And that's a very important purpose boys and girls. Thanks for tuning in. See
you next time. Now that nature time is done, it's just about around the time that we always check in
on our friend Nico. So come along with me. Hey Pastor Anastasia, I have a dilemma. A dilemma?
My pastor just asked me if I could preach for Children's Sabbath. That doesn't sound like a
problem to me. But it really is. I want to do it but I just don't know what to say
or how to say it. The worst part is what if the girls don't think I'm old enough?
Plus I'm not always the best behaved kid in the bunch. I'm sure your pastor will help you to
prepare. Remember we're never too young or old to be used by God. Children can share Jesus too.
He has called and chosen us to serve him uniquely in our own way. Wait a minute. That reminds me of
our theme for this week which simply says we are all called by God. Let me hear my little friend
Joanna in the Turks and Caicos Island say it. We are all called by God. And our memory verse is
found in 2nd Timothy 1.9 and it simply says he has saved us and called us to a holy life.
Let me hear my little friend Lais in Brazil say it. God has saved us and called us to a
holy life 2nd Timothy 2.10. Great job everyone.
Oh I get it. Instead of being worried about what others may think,
I should be focused on God's call to serve. Exactly. Accepting God's call is not always easy
especially when we've made mistakes. But if we allow Jesus to take control he changes our lives
for the better. That's why today's story is about a tax collector who accepted God's call even
though he was not liked very much by his community. Can you guess what today's story is about?
I know this one. But I wonder how Jesus could call somebody so naughty. It's Matthew the tax
collector. That's right Sam. Today's story is about Matthew the tax collector.
One day while visiting the town of Capernaum, Jesus met a tax collector named Matthew. Tax
collectors were some of the most hated people in the community because they worked for the Romans.
But Jesus didn't look down on Matthew because of his job like everyone else. Instead he invited him
to be his disciple. Matthew almost could not believe his ears. Jesus of Nazareth chose him,
a tax collector, to be one of his followers. Joyfully he left everything behind and obedient
accepted the call to follow Jesus and be one of his disciples. From that day on his life was
completely transformed. Whoa! It is so cool to know that Jesus never looked down on Matthew
even though he wasn't the most popular. Most definitely. I'm so happy that God loves us no
matter what we've done and that we're all called to be a part of God's kingdom.
