Hey guys and girls and welcome back to Graceville where God's love is everywhere.
It's me, Pastor Anastasia and I'm so super duper excited that you've joined me today
as we learn more about our best friend Jesus.
Today's special feature comes to us all the way from the Bahamas
where my little friend Taraj has prepared a beautiful song just for us.
Let's listen in.
He's able, He's able
I know He
He heals the brokenhearted
He sets the captives free
He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see
He's able, He's able
I know He is able
To carry me through
Thanks Taraj, that was amazing!
Boys and girls, remember if you want to share the cool things that you're doing at home
while we're staying in, please ask your parents or guardians to inbox me
and I'd be happy to share it with our friends.
Wait a minute, what's that moving behind the bushes?
Right over there!
I don't know what it is, but I know we're going to find out
who or what that little guy may be
from our friend Ryan in Canada at Nature Time.
Let's check it out!
Hello boys and girls and welcome again to Nature Time at Graceville.
Today, I'm going to be talking to you guys about lizards.
Let's tune in.
Lizards are reptiles.
Sources say there are over 5,000 species of lizards.
Some are very big like the Komodo dragon
and some are very small like the gecko.
Some have four legs, two, or none at all.
I found this little fella in Florida when I was seven.
He looks like a skink, but I'm not too sure.
But skinks spend most of their lives on the ground
around leaves and dead logs.
But they will climb up surfaces to find food
or even enter your house.
But don't kill them.
Catch them and return them to their habitat.
In Revelation 7 verse 9 it says,
After these things I looked, and behold,
a great multitude which no one could number,
all of its nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues
standing before the throne and before the Lamb,
clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands.
Let's try not to be like everyone else,
but pray to be like Jesus.
Let's celebrate true diversity.
It's a gift from our Creator.
Bye, boys and girls. Thanks for tuning in.
See you next time.
So glad to have you back.
Just in time to peek in on our little friend, Nico.
I wonder what he's up to today.
Let's go.
Hey, Pastor Anastasia.
Cool instrument, Nico. What are you practicing for?
Well, my music teacher just gave me a band solo.
But I don't think I can do it.
I just don't think I'm the best person for the job.
There are a lot of other people
who are a lot better at their instruments.
Even though you feel as if your classmates may be better,
your teacher chose you for a reason in spite of your doubts.
Sometimes we may feel as if we're not the right person for the task,
but God chooses us because through Him we can do all things.
Wait a minute.
That reminds me of our theme for this week,
which simply says, God chose you.
Let me hear my friend Hannah say it.
I chose you.
And our memory verse is found in 1 Peter 2 verse 9.
And it simply says, you are a chosen generation.
Let me hear my little friend in Jamaica say it.
Our memory verse for this week,
you are a chosen generation, 1 Peter 2 verse 9.
Great job, everyone!
I'm so glad that God is willing to choose us
even when we're not brave enough to believe in ourselves.
Me too.
With God, it's not about who we are, how old we are,
or what grade we're in.
It's all about surrendering to Him.
That's why today's story is about a special boy
who God called to be king
when no one else saw a king in him.
Can you guess who today's story is about?
That is right, Anna and Abel.
Today's story is about David.
David spent most of his time caring for his father's sheep.
Like a good shepherd, he did his best to keep them safe.
As the youngest son of his father, Jesse,
he was not old enough to go to war like his brothers.
He was happy being a shepherd until one day
his life changed completely.
The little town of Bethlehem buzzed with excitement
when the prophet Samuel arrived to make a special sacrifice
and visit David's family.
He explained to David's father, Jesse,
that he came to anoint the next king of Israel.
Imagine his surprise!
The next king of Israel would be one of his sons.
One by one, he called his sons out to meet the prophet.
Each of them looked like a king, but God warned Samuel
that he does not look at what's on the outside
but what's in our hearts.
Finally, it was David's turn.
Even though he was smaller and younger than his brothers,
God chose him.
God didn't have to wait for David to be older
to choose him like his brothers.
From shepherd to king, that's so amazing.
Yes, it is.
Just like he chose David,
God has chosen and called each of us for a special purpose.
We don't have to be the biggest or best at anything.
We simply need to be willing to be used by him.
And remember, when God chooses, he makes no mistakes.
