Hi boys and girls, welcome back to Graceville where God's love is everywhere. It's me,
Pastor Anastasia and I'm so excited that you join me today as we learn more about our best
friend Jesus. Today's special feature comes to us all the way from the beautiful islands of the
where my friend Jada has prepared a beautiful song just for us. Let's listen in.
Everywhere I go, I'm gonna let it shine. Everywhere I go, I'm gonna let it shine.
Everywhere I go, I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Wow! That was amazing! Boys and girls, remember, if you want to share the cool things that
you're doing at home while we're staying in, please ask your parents or guardians to inbox
me, and I'd be happy to share it with our friends.
Uh-oh! I think I see something moving right over there. I wonder what it could be. Well,
we'll find out more at Nature Time with our friend Ryan from Canada. Let's check it out!
Hey, boys and girls, and welcome again to Nature Time at Graysville. Today, our friend
Sophia is going to be talking to us about something I'm not sure we're all fond of.
Let's tune in.
Yes, they are slimy, and many people don't like them, but slugs are very important for
the environment. They are scavengers, and they provide food for mammals. As scavengers,
they eat decaying leaves and other compost, which help make rich soil. If we got rid of
all the slugs, it would upset our environment.
Even though the slug doesn't have a shell to protect it like the snail, God will still
protect it like He protects us.
Wow, Sophia. Thanks for that amazing feature. And it's true. God is always with us because
we are weak, but He is strong. Bye, boys and girls. See you next time.
There you are. Just in time to check in on Nico. Let's see what he's up to today. Let's
go.
Hey, Pastor Anastasia. Today is the day I've been dreading.
Dreading? What? Why?
Well, my pal from your club is working on the spider man today, and my teacher said
that she's going to bring a tarantula in, but I'm afraid of spiders. I think I'll just
hide in my room today.
We all have things that frighten us, and it's easy to avoid facing our fears. But when we
make the decision to put our trust in God, He gives us the courage to conquer our fears.
Wait a minute. That reminds me of our theme for this week, which simply says, Choose Faith
Over Fear. Let me hear my friend from Papua New Guinea say it.
Choosing faith over fear.
And our memory verse is found in 2 Timothy 2 verse 7, and it simply says, God has not
given us the spirit of fear. Let me hear my friend Joelle say it.
God has not given us the spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1 verse 7.
Great job, everyone!
Wait, so if I choose faith over fear, God can make me brave? Even brave enough to get
over my fear of spiders?
Of course! That's why today's story is about a fearful young man who discovered how brave
he really was after putting out his fleece. Can you guess who today's story is about?
Oh yes! This one's so easy. It's about the man who asked God for his sign. It is about
Gideon.
That's right, Nicanor. Today's story is about Gideon.
Many years ago, Gideon served as a judge in Israel. It was not easy to lead God's people
during that time because the wicked Midianite army threatened them. The frightened Israelites
lived in constant fear of their attacks. But all of that was about to change when God called
Gideon to defeat them. Naturally, Gideon was afraid. After all, their army was bigger
and stronger. So he asked God for a sign. Two times he put out his fleece, asking God
to wet it with dew one day and leave it dry the other. On both days, God answered his
prayer. With complete faith that God was with Gideon, he and his tiny army of 300 men overcame
their fear of their enemies. They were victorious with the Lord on their side.
Whoa! Gideon was really brave to go into battle even though he was outnumbered.
He sure was, Nico. God doesn't want any of us to be afraid. Like Gideon, Jesus has already
given us the power to overcome our fears. So go ahead and choose faith over fear.
