This ia a video detailing the procedure for updating the NAVAREA or METAREA on your SAT - C TERMINAL.
The area has to be selected from the ALRS NP 283(1/2) and added to your terminal. Only then will be your SAT - C be able to receive the necessary information as per your voyage route requirements.
Hope this helps you in your future.
Good evening, this is a sat-c terminal of the Furuno type. So earlier I had posted a video
detailing how to select the nav area or met area from the ALRS volume 3. So once you found out
which nav area or met area you are going to be selecting on the sat-c for your intended voyage,
the next thing you have to do is enter it into the sat-c terminal. This is the basic options
on a sat-c display. File, transmit, enhance group calling, report, logs, options, setup,
position and stop alarm. So all these can be accessed by just pressing the functions key.
So if I want to select file, I'll just be pressing F1. Once I press F1, it comes. Same way I want to
go and select setup, I'll be pressing just the F8 key. Once I select F8, the setup menu opens up
and the fifth option is EGC setup. I'll just press enter button, it comes up. Then I'll
go down and select nav area. Again I'll have to press the enter button. I press the enter button,
the nav area opens. The EGC terminal is already on nav area 11. So for example you want to
select nav area 12, you just have to type 12 and press enter. It is selected.
Now just have to press escape. Once you press escape, the option comes update.
So if I need to update it, I'll just press enter again. That means the nav area is
selected to 11 and 12. I'll just show you the result. I'll just press enter again
and it comes. You can see the fixed nav area is 11 and 12. So the sat-c terminal is programmed
to receive all the updates of materia nav area warnings from area 11 and area 12.
This is how you do an EGC setup. Thank you.
