Will Planet Earth Be Destroyed? With A Full Verse by Verse Discussion of 2 Peter 3.
Hello and welcome to the All Things Refuel channel. I'm William Bell and in this video we're going to
talk about the kingdom of God has come. This is a short so it's going to be very quick for people
who don't have a lot of time to listen to videos but they'd like to get just a few basic points.
Now I'm going to demonstrate from the scriptures that the kingdom of God has come. There are a lot
of people who deny that the kingdom has come. I'm going to show from the testimony of John
the Immersive, from Christ, from Paul and also from John the Apostle. So be sure to click the
subscribe button and also click on the bell so that every time we upload a new video you will
receive a copy and or at least a notification in your inbox that we have done so. So let's go ahead
and get started. Now the first point is that the law and the prophets were until John. This is
Matthew 11 verse 13 also Luke chapter 16 and verse 16. The scripture says the law and the prophets
were until John but since that time the kingdom of God is preached and every man is pressing into
it. Now when John the Baptist came on the scene he came announcing something that was in addition to
what the prophets had said. They said the kingdom was coming. John said that the kingdom is at hand
and therefore they were to repent as a result. So that shows us that the kingdom of God was near
in the first century when John the Immersive came on the scene. Point number two, Jesus said that
the time was fulfilled. There was a certain or an appointed time for the kingdom of God to come.
Jesus says this time had come and that it was fulfilled. He used the perfect tense for the word
peplerao meaning that the time had come, that appointed time had come, that it stood fulfilled
and therefore we shouldn't be looking for a time past the first century for the coming of the
kingdom of God. In Mark chapter 1 verses 14 and 15 the text says after John had been cast into prison
Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God and saying the time is fulfilled,
repent and believe the gospel. And thus that appointed time for the kingdom that had been
spoken of in Daniel chapter 2, chapter 7, chapter 9, chapter 12, that appointed time had come and
thus the kingdom was at hand in the first century. Thirdly Jesus said the kingdom of God does not
come with observation. When the Pharisees and others were demanding of him
when the kingdom of God would come he says the kingdom of God does not come with observation.
So it's not a physical kingdom, it's not a kingdom that you're going to see, it's not
located in any geographical place, but he says the kingdom of God does not come with observation
but the kingdom of God is within you or is in your midst. And so we should be looking
not for a physical kingdom but a spiritual one and the only way to understand that would be
through the testimony of scripture. Number four, Paul wrote that believers were in the kingdom.
Now how people deny this text it's beyond me but the text says who has delivered us
from the power of darkness out of the power of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear son.
Now there are only two spheres that a person can be in. It's either the sphere of darkness,
the spiritual dimension of darkness or in the kingdom of God because he says he's delivered
us from the power of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear son and therefore you're either in
the darkness or in the kingdom. There are no other opposing or contrasting states in which one can be.
Number five, John said that he was in the kingdom. This is the apostle John in Revelation chapter one
and the verse is nine and of course we know in the mouth of two or three witnesses. So we've
had Paul say that he was in the kingdom and now we have John saying that he also was in the kingdom.
He says, I John who am also your brother and companion in tribulation and in the patience
and the kingdom of Jesus Christ for the word of God and for the testimony which he saw. And so
Revelation one nine so it doesn't matter what date you assign to the book of Revelation whether it
was the early date in the reign of Nero or the later date in the reign of Domitian which date
cannot be supported and we do have supporting evidence for the early date but nevertheless
whichever one you choose John said he was in the kingdom at that very time and therefore how can
we deny that the kingdom of God has come. Then we have Matthew chapter 16 this is point number
seven that the kingdom of God came in power during the time that some disciples of Christ
were standing on earth. The text says in Matthew 16 27 and 28 for the son of man is about to come
in the glory of his father with his holy angels and then he will reward each one according to
his work. Surely I say to you there are some who are standing here who will not die till they see
the son of man coming in his kingdom. So Jesus' disciples along with the apostles were standing
there with him in the first century and he said some of them would not die till they see the
kingdom of God come. When you look at Mark's gospel Mark says the same thing but he uses the
present or the perfect tense and he says there are some standing here who will not
taste of death till they see the kingdom of God having come with power meaning they would stand
and be able to look at it as a past event and from that perspective it was fulfilled in the
lifetime of those disciples and number eight the kingdom of God would come before that generation
passed away. Now in Luke chapter 21 the verses 20 through 22 in the events surrounding the
destruction of the temple Jesus said when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies then know that its
desolation is near then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains let those who in the midst
of her depart and let not those who are in the country enter her why for these are the days of
vengeance that all things which are written may be fulfilled. Now what that's telling us is that
those were the days of vengeance that all things that were written that would be the prophecies in
the Old Testament all things that are written would be fulfilled when when Rome was destroying
Jerusalem and that would be in 70 AD during that time frame from 66 to 70 AD but that would be the
consummation of it and in the same chapter in verse 31 Jesus told his disciples and those who were
present at the time were Peter James John and Andrew he said so likewise you when you see all
these things come to pass know that the kingdom of God is near and assuredly I say to you this
generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. We've had so many people
try to jump through hoops they try to do all kind of somersaults to get around the word this
generation referring to the generation living in the time of Christ but he said that generation
would not pass and all those things would take place. So to summarize very quickly we've seen
the testimony of John the Baptist who announced that the kingdom of God was at hand when he came
on earth we also saw where Christ after John was cast in the prison said the time was fulfilled
and that the kingdom of God had drawn near and then Paul said that they had been delivered from
the power of darkness into the kingdom of his son and John said he was in the patience the
tribulation and in the kingdom and according to the book of Revelation verse one verse nine and
so we see there are only two places a person can be that was in the darkness or translated into
the kingdom that happened in the 60s and or and earlier and therefore the kingdom of God had come
you can enter the kingdom by being born again according to John 3 3 through 5 Jesus said except
a man is born again he cannot enter into the kingdom of God unless he's born of water in the
spirit he could not see the kingdom of God and so we encourage you to do that be sure and subscribe
