A few weeks ago, Chad and I moved into our nearly 200-year-old Tudor Gothic Revival townhouse in London, and we've begun the process of restoring it slowly, focusing on reviving its original character.
In this video, we begin restoring the original front door, carefully repairing and preparing the wood before repainting—a small but crucial step in bringing the exterior back to a more fitting state for the house.
Inside, we're also starting the renovation of the master bedroom, beginning to shape a softer and more refined space.
And outside, we've started refurbishing the patio, transforming it into a space more in keeping with the age and style of the house.
It's all still in progress, but we feel like things are finally taking shape.
If you love British interiors, historic homes, antiques, and thoughtful, sophisticated renovations, then you're in the right place.

Good morning everyone, happy Sunday. I hope you're having a lovely weekend so far.
You are joining me today back in the house. I did say last week that we'd be going to the
Cotswolds in this video but I've actually managed to squeeze an extra video in this
week and then next week we're going to be going to the Cotswolds so we actually leave tomorrow
morning but you'll be seeing that next week. So we've got one more week of house updates,
what we've been doing this week and I thought I'd catch you up really quickly because quite
a lot was going on in the past few weeks and now we've come to a point where it's nice and
relaxing. We get to enjoy the house a little bit before more works take place and in last week's
video I think I showed you things happening like the front door, like the kitchen worktops but
everything is now complete. So let me give you an update as to what everything's looking like
at this point in time. If I start with our front door, this is what we were having done last week
whilst everything else was going on in the house. So our countertops were being done, our kitchen
cupboards were being painted and then whilst they were drying Kyle was actually working on the front
door. Now this front door is most likely original, it looks to be original which probably means it
dates back to the 1830s so we can only assume it's been there for a very long time but when we bought
this house it was looking a bit weathered, it had lots of cracks in the paint, lots of chips, lots
of scuff marks from where people have been opening it with their feet and it just needed to be sort
of stripped back and then treated and painted which is what we've done to it. So when we started this
was a really ugly red colour, kind of like a, I don't want to say like an orangey red but it wasn't
a deep dark maroon which is what probably would have looked nicer but we decided to sand it all
the way back, Kyle did this and then he basically fixed all of the crevices, the cracks, instead of
using a filler he used an epoxy which expands and contracts with the weather whereas filler just
cracks and it won't take very well. So it was all treated with the epoxy, Kyle then applied a primer
and an undercoat and this was his secret to getting the really high gloss finish which is what
we wanted because traditionally these doors would have been a really really high gloss and we wanted
to sort of emulate that from this sort of time period and the colour we chose was actually Studio
Green by Farrow and Ball. If you know of the colour it's a really dark green, kind of black but when
the sun hits it it shows a really deep green colour which is really beautiful. I love colours that sort
of dual aspect where they sort of change in the lights and the Studio Green was meant to be the
perfect option however we discovered during the process that Farrow and Ball actually no longer do
or they no longer create oil-based glosses, they're all water-based glosses and Kyle just informed us
that it will probably not look as shiny and it won't have the full gloss effect that we were
looking for so we actually went to Little Green who do oil-based glosses and we found a colour
called Obsidian Green which is virtually the exact same colour, it's a very very dark green, it looks
more black than it does green but we decided to go with that instead because we chose the oil-based
gloss, put it on the door and we absolutely love it. It does look quite dark uh which is probably
not what we were going for however traditionally these houses would have had dark reds, dark green
front door, dark blues uh so it is very much in keeping with the house and I think once we get
some plants out the front it will really soften it so I'm loving how it looks. The gloss effect
on it is incredible, you can literally see your your full reflection in it, you'll be able to tell
the time on your watch, it's brilliant. Kyle did an incredible job on it so very very happy with
the front door and I'd say outside the front that's pretty much all we can do at the moment
without getting permissions. Eventually we'd love to replace all of the tiles at the front, we have
a step up and it's kind of like a meter, two meters sort of porch way outside and then you
have the inside porch way as well. Ideally we'd like to get all those tiles replaced with like
bullnose um yorkstone steps that would look really pretty and then obviously we'd want some
planters. Last week we spoke about evergreen sort of shrubs with maybe some floral planting behind
just to soften the outside of the space because outside the front there's no plants at all,
no one on these squares has a front garden, it's all paved. Some people have trees, some people have
bushes but I think we could do a really really beautiful landscaping job outside there and
eventually I would also love to have a wisteria. No one else has a wisteria on this square so I'd be
need to do a bit of research to see whether it's possible um there might be a reason as to why no
one has them but again plants is something we're not doing at the moment it will be in a few months
time maybe next year I'm not too sure. And then whilst the front door was being painted Chad has
actually touched up all of the exterior brickwork it's all covered in a render I think it's called
stucco I'm not too sure but it's a white render that goes around all of our railings inside the
front of our door and the doorway there's a massive arch over our door that also is painted
in it's just a brilliant white so Chad touched up all of that it looks really really pristine
and then he also painted the entire front patio and if you see him out of this window in a minute
it's because he's also painting the back patio yesterday we jet washed it got all the sort of
algae and the moss off it and we're going to paint it and then eventually we'll take out the floor
the concrete flooring in there we'll put some new tiles in at the moment we're just tidying them up
painting them making them look a bit fresher which is very exciting whilst we're in the living
room I quickly wanted to show you the tv so this is the Samsung it's not the frame it's the Neo QLED
something but it basically has the same features as the frame tv it's just better quality so
top tip if you're looking to get a frame don't get the actual frame because it's really blurry
and it's not as high quality I will link it down below but I think this is the Neo QLED 2025
we got this from John Lewis in the sale I think it was around it was meant to be 2000 pounds and it
was down to 1300 I think the sale is still on so if it's still on I will link it down below but this
is the art setting on the tv which hopefully will show you what we're aiming for it to look like
obviously we will be getting a gold frame to go around it I then want some chains and a sort of
old vintage picture rail above it so it blends into the wall and looks like a piece of art
ideally I would like to get some art above it I just need to configure the spacing and see
a I need to find the artwork I don't have any artwork for this but I'll need to configure it
to make it look sort of fitting to the space and then the radiator if you can see down there is
here at the moment because we took it off for all the works around the shutters so our plumber is
going to come in the next few days to lift this this is so heavy it's solid cast iron and when
they took it off it took three men to move it I wasn't one of those men so when we put it back on
I'm sure it will just take two me included but this will then be going back under the window
and then I would ideally like a big I want to say Georgian but I'm not too sure at the moment but
I'd like a very similar to the dresser we just bought a nice wooden console table because I do
want to sort of hide this tv maybe have a lamp some decorative objects maybe some florals just
to sort of make this more of a styled space than just an empty vacuous area with nothing there and
I think that could look really lovely and this sitting room is big enough to sort of handle it
so very excited to see this come along but this will not look the same it will look blended in
and it won't look like a tv so hopefully I'm sharing the vision and you're seeing it I'll
try and put up some inspiration pictures now maybe I'll do an AI image of what it will look like
but yeah trust the process it's all hidden I do need to just touch this up
this paintwork up here but I'm loving how it looks so far and I hope you do too
welcome to the kitchen I still haven't found the best angle to showcase this room yet
so bear with me on the angles but this room is coming together really nicely and I'm loving
how it's looking at the moment it feels like we have our dream kitchen
of our old house that we wanted with the improvements that we wanted to make but
basically this is our dream kitchen all the cabinets have been painted by Kyle
they look incredible he's done all of the insides we then have the wood sort of sides but he's
painted everything really really well so very happy with that and then I changed all of the
cupboard hardware to the DeVol air loom collection they're a bit different so we've got some pulls
here we then have if you can see over here the latch which is probably my favorite
and then at the end we have the boho I think DeVol pull handles as well so again the mix and
match of the cupboard hardware I'm in love with someone actually did ask me today what's my opinion
on mixed metals and I personally will always choose an unlacquered brass or a brass that
will sort of change over time with a patterner however I do think mixed metals can look really
beautiful in our old bathroom albeit it wasn't a choice that I made consciously we had a mixture
of sort of metal they were kind of like champagne looking taps and then we had oil rubbed bronze
shower fixtures and I think if you do it well the mixture of metals can look really beautiful
but in this kitchen I have chosen to do all brass the brass is treated to a degree it's oiled with
something but again as we touch it over time it will darken it will develop a really lovely
patterner so that's what I prefer when I'm choosing bits for the kitchen but these taps again
the same thing they are from DeVol in collaboration with Perrin & Rowe so everything has been changed
out for newer versions if you can see the chandelier is looking beautiful I don't even
know if you can see that in this shot it does need a few more chains to lower it just to make
it look perfect but the wiring for the actual light is too short so I'll have to get my trusty
dad to extend the cable at some point sorry dad if you're watching I did not tell you about this but
that would be lovely to have it hanging a little bit lower because it does look a bit too high
but the piece de resistance for this kitchen is these worktops this was something we didn't
realize we wanted so badly but these worktops the Iroko worktops were very very badly damaged
I did kind of think they looked quite cool when we bought the kitchen but now seeing these in place
all restored all oiled up they look so beautiful I hope it comes across on camera but it does look
like a show kitchen they're so soft so shiny and this I think it took six or seven coats of wax to
get them looking like this the inspo picture that we kept putting up for the past few weeks we
weren't able to achieve that amount of gloss I don't even know how the DeVol team were able to
achieve that but this has had around six coats of a full gloss wax finish to seal it all in
hopefully all the bits we drop on it so oil wine won't soak into it because it's had all that
protection but it's a really deep sort of chocolatey nutty color and it's so beautiful
it goes really well with the red and then when we get our table to go in the middle of this our
island slash dining table we'll have a Carrara marble top so it'll be a nice sort of mixture of
materials and touch points in this kitchen so very excited and then the next steps for this kitchen
so all of that sort of stuff is done we then painted the pantry cars painted it all made it
look pretty and then the plans for the kitchen over the next few weeks will be to sort of demolish
this as it looks now and then add tiling add two lights either side we haven't decided yet what we
want we're going to go antique shopping when we're in the Cotswolds to try and find some lights
but ideally some form of wall lighting maybe with some milk glass or some form of ceramic the DeVol
lights are our go-to at the moment so we're trying to source something antique first but if we can't
find anything we will just be getting these lights in the next few weeks so that's on our list to
find this weekend two lights for here these shelves will be coming out the reason they're not
at the moment is because there is electric led lighting plumbed into this wooden shelf and it
does go behind this tile here so we haven't touched this just yet but all of that will be coming out
and then we are going to have our DeVol cream subway tile going all the way across quite a few
of you have commented saying you're new to the channel and you haven't actually seen our previous
kitchen i think i showed a snippet of it last week but if i show you these are the tiles
that we have chosen hopefully you can see but they're a cream off white color they're all
handmade so they have a slight variation in color some of them are more milky some of them are more
pale and that across here is going to look so pretty so i think we're going to go up to around
a meter in height and then add a border all the way along this middle section is going to have
the brass rail going across to hang our pots and pans and then these two areas either side will be
break between all the pots and pans and then lastly this oven we have ordered the new oven
from le conch it's a three month lead time i believe so end of july is when we have the date
for i think it's july 22nd 27th or something like that that we have the delivery date booked in for
so this will be coming out and then the le conch oven will be coming in i'll try and send out the
way now so i can do an ai image of what this will look like in the next few weeks but hopefully you
see the vision hopefully you like it this is very much our dream kitchen we love the red we love the
wood with a mixture of the marble and the tiles it's just what we like it was the same in our old
house but if you if you like it why would you change it that's my dream kitchen that's chad's
dream kitchen so and it goes with this house so we're very very happy with how it's coming along
and over the next few weeks we'll be able to share with you the space coming together so very very
exciting so let me take you downstairs into the main bedroom where we're going to be starting the
transformation it's not going to be finished in this video i've got a lot more to do i've got a
so this will not be finished in this video this is very much the start but we're sharing this
renovation with you how it happens in real time things don't happen all at once things happen
gradually so let's going to get started by showing you the paint color i actually picked it up a few
weeks ago when i went into the edward balmer store on pimlico road i walked in and this color was on
the wall it's part of their new chatsworth collection and i just fell in love with it so
hopefully you guys like it but let me take you downstairs now and i'll show you the current state
and let's start the transformation
welcome to the next room in the house that i'm going to be tackling i don't really think i've
spent much time in here with you all since i revealed the house i think we did a quick tour
and then since then this room has sort of been off limits and that's because it looks like this
we have odd artwork on the walls that will not be staying there let me just address this
we also have curtains that i had to order online that aren't custom to the floor
so there's lots of things i need to tackle some of the things i'm going to do today
like uh shortening these curtains sew them off and make them prettier than what they look like
currently but the reason i brought you into this room today is because i'm actually going to start
decorating this room if you've just joined for this video then you would have missed in the past
few videos we've talked about how we've just recently purchased a grade two star listed house
what that means is anything that we're wanting to change in this house we realistically have to get
permission for because it's such an old house they treat it like everything has to be overseen
by the council by the planning authorities and they don't want any of the original fabric taken
out of the house so in terms of adding cornice adding ceiling roses in terms of skirting boards
paneling if you wanted to do that things like that will possibly need to go through a planning
planning consent so we're currently in talks with the people for that at the moment to see
what we can and can't get away with doing relatively sooner rather than waiting a few
years to get it done so at this point in time instead of me rambling on all i can really do
in this room is paint change fabrics add furniture and i'm very very excited to get started with this
if the color is coming across correctly on the camera then you will notice it's a light airy
really bright pink which is really beautiful but it's not really the color that i
i gravitate towards so what i'm going to be doing is keeping the pink but taking it to something a
bit more characterful a bit deeper with a bit more complexity so i tested a few samples as you can see
on the wall you will also see the sun coming through this room because it's a south facing
room so this room gets so much light despite it being in the basement but it can really affect
the color as you'll see the color will shift quite a lot as i'm speaking but some of the colors i've
tested are up here you can see i've got different shades of sort of reddy pinks uh we then tested
i think this was french gray was it french gray by fire and ball that is a no-go i don't even know
why i tested that in here but then i also toyed with the idea of trying a really deep and dark
moody brown red in here which i very quickly did not like the idea of because it's such a bright
room i really want to keep the brightness but add a bit more complexity with the color so i've been
steered away from this color this is etruscan red by far and ball and this color here is called
etruscan brown which is another color by edward volmer that i actually came across on pinterest
and it's why i sort of ordered some samples from edward bomber and i've fallen in love with quite
a few of their colors but this one it sort of shifts from a pink to a salmon to a brown
it's a bit too not what i was thinking the color i fell in love with when i went into the edward
bomber store is called freudian and this is it right here it's a kind of an earthy pink a bit
brown a bit pink but it's quite muted and it's so so beautiful it's such a beautiful color so
what i'm going to do today is take this on all of the walls i'm going to avoid the windows the
skirting and just do the walls because i actually purchased an emulsion which doesn't show up as
nicely on woodwork is a bit too chalky so i am going to tackle that today i'm going to also take
these curtains up so they look a bit more presentable so i'm going to go grab my paint
brushes grab my rollers try and cover these floors with something and then get to painting
i'm very excited to get this paint on the walls because at the moment this room doesn't really
feel like a me room or a chad room it just feels like we're living in someone else's house once we
transform this space it's quite a big room to transform so i think it's really going to sort
make us feel a bit more at home
we are on day two of painting the main bedroom i think it's coming across quite patchy in some
areas and i think it's because the previous paint was a modern emulsion of some form so this paint
is not sticking to it as easily this is only my second time using the edward bomber natural paints
and i do i've been told and i have sort of seen that it does need quite a few coats
this has had two coats now so this is the best part of the whole room at the moment it's very
full and this is sort of giving the correct color whereas everywhere else is very patchy and it's a
bit deeper bit darker in certain areas but this is what the color is going to look like hopefully
hopefully you guys like it but i was just going to pause and show you these sort of plans for the
room so decoration wise i'm imagining lots of sort of dark colors in here so in my opinion the wood
goes really well with the color it's a nice contrast and i was thinking to add some new
bedside tables in so i'm going to look for some really dark wood possibly marble topped chest of
drawers for either side of the bed something with a bit more storage because in this room
controversially i don't really want cupboards and i don't want any storage so we're going to try and
do two bedside tables where we can keep our daily clothing items that we need and then we're going
to use one of the guest bedrooms and possibly make a part of the hallway into some cupboards
because again a bedroom to me should be quite relaxing i don't really want clothes everywhere
and i know inevitably we're just going to be chucking clothes on the bed on the floor
and it's just going to get messy which is what i don't want for this room so i think some nice
dark picture frames on the wall could look really beautiful i do think the gold frames work well as
well but i think it would be nice to have something a bit different to this room so i need to do a bit
more art shopping which is not a bad thing but then i also i'm going to spin you around and show
you the windows because i'd love to get your opinion on what i should do with them the current
dilemma i've got the windows now and i'm debating whether i should paint them the same color as the
wall whether i should keep them in this really beautiful soft pink shade or whether i should
take them to more traditional and paint them white the outside of this space is the front patio so
everything is painted in white the outside of these windows it's a dual tone window so these
are white on the outside and then pink on the inside so my thought process is either but it
could either be quite traditional to make them white but then would it sort of not flow with
the room very well because i might have to paint the window ledge white as well if it was this
color on the wall the freudian color it could look a bit too dark but i think it would frame the
outside quite beautifully and we're also eventually going to be having plants and everything growing
of the wall so i think having the sort of reddish pink window panes and frames could look quite nice
looking out into a white and green background but i also equally really like this color so i'm i'm
stuck in i'm stuck in my decision process at the moment so any help would be very grateful
hopefully this isn't going to be as split as the windows because it was literally 50 50 upstairs
on keeping the pine shutters or painting them so let me know your thoughts down below another thing
i need to ask you is also whether i should color drench the ceiling in here i know quite a few of
you like color drenching and a few of you really dislike it and i think it's because most people
think it's a modern trend but it really isn't it dates back to quite a long time ago color drenching
has gone on for a very very long time so it would be traditional in that sense but typically georgian
ceilings would be of the same color as the skirting or it would be a different color from the wall
color so you'd keep a ceiling white and then a paint color would be different on the walls i
don't think it really matters down here because again it's a basement no one would have really
lived down here it would have been the cooking area and the place for the staff so we're not
really in keeping with those times if you think about it that way so i think i am going to color
drench the ceiling it probably will be painted by the end of this video but let me know your thoughts
again on whether you think it should be color drenched or not another thing i wanted to address
really quickly was the bed i'm debating whether to go full-on traditional and get a wooden four
poster bed i think they're so pretty and i've always wanted a four poster bed i think they are
a bit trendy at the moment so i'm not sure whether i'm being fed into the trend but i would love a
four poster bed in this room i don't know whether the ceilings are a bit too short for it i'd have
to sort of configure measure and see whether it would fit and look nice in here but if it wasn't
a full-on four poster bed i love the idea of having a canopy bed where you sort of attach a pediment to
the back of the wall and then drape fabric behind and around the bed just on the wall side so that
could look really beautiful but i'm debating on whether to sort of go full-on fabric or whether
i mix up having the four poster bed with two wooden posts at the bottom whether just do fabric
on all of them i'm not too sure but i did walk past this shop the other day in pimlico road when
i was going to pick up some edward volmer paint uh the i think it's called so on it might be called
but they had a four poster bed with all the canopies draped with this fabric and it was so
beautiful and i ordered this fabric it's very expensive so i am going to be really planning on
what i'm going to do because i don't want to spend that much money and for it to not really go with
the room so i am ordering lots of fabric samples at the moment but this is probably my most favorite
it's a linen fabric with a printed uh floral floral pattern on top of it and i think the
work really well with this room so whether i do curtains not too sure i don't really want the
curtains to match the canopy if i do a canopy on the bed i think that would be a bit too
matchy-matchy so let me know your thoughts down below whether you like these fabrics
there are some other ones i've ordered uh there's this sort of red quadrant looking one
i think that's the same in a different color way so that's just a green color
and then you've got some more green options they were just really beautiful so i ordered those
and i'm going to add those to my fabric samples and sit down here when it's fully painted and
see which colors and which patterns work really well uh but yeah i'm really excited to get some
fabric in this house because in our old house as well i didn't do any fabric things i didn't want
to spend that much money on a house that wasn't going to be our forever home whereas i feel like
this house it makes a bit more sense because we are going to be living here for the foreseeable
so fabric choices really will play a key part of this room otherwise it's just going to feel
like a terracotta red box which is not the vibe i was going for so i'm going to stop talking now
and continue painting i'm going to give this one a second coat possibly start on the ceiling so
let's get painting also please excuse my eyes for the past week i've been suffering with the worst
hay fever so if i look like i've been dragged through a bush with my eyes and i'm crying
that'd be why uh but as you can tell this room has had three coats of paint on the walls now
i'm not going to lie it is quite patchy as you apply it i would assume because it's a natural
paint it needs a few more coats than a normal paint um it's kind of annoying but i do love
the color and i do love the finish that it gives so i'm just going to live through it you can see
the ceiling has only had one coat and this is how patchy it comes across on the first coat
bear in mind as well the color underneath the ceiling was white so that's what it looks like
but i am loving the color it's adding a really nice charm and moodiness to this room so
i'm going to continue painting this i probably won't get it finished uh for the end of this
video but i just wanted to give you a really quick update to show you what it's looking like
but i'm loving it so far and then i don't think i've shown you but this is the curtain that i
took up the other day i just added a really simple like seam at the bottom it's nothing
professional um i do think it looks quite good so quite happy with that i measured them to drop
on the floor slightly so they sort of elegantly drop on the floor they do need to be steamed so
please do ignore what they look like at the moment but very happy with how they're looking
i then just need to finish off the other one it's quite difficult in this house at the moment
because we have no table space obviously we don't have a dining table or anything so i'm laying them
out on the floor um and measuring them on the floor which is kind of inconvenient so it was
taking me it probably took me around an hour and a half yesterday to do it uh but this one i'll need
to do um in a few i probably will try and finish that today but i'm loving how they look these
curtains are actually quite pretty they are just off the shelf ready made um obviously they were
too long but they're from the cotswold company they're a really pretty sage green pinstripe and
they are blackout so don't any light three in the mornings and it has actually really helped
my sleeping i normally wake up quite early because of the lights but these have been a
godsend so very happy with them they are probably the nicest off-the-shelf curtains i have come
across in a long time i did have the other ones in our old house from john lewis they were velvet
and this house i didn't really want to get velvet curtains so very happy that i came across these
but i will leave the link down below if you guys are interested but yes i am loving how this room
is coming across at the moment it's kind of giving me italian vibes the pink that you see on the wall
is very much what you see like a rendered tuscan villa um color color wise and i think it looks
really pretty i obviously need to scrape that off made a bit of a booboo there but loving how
the pink window is looking against the dark pink wall i thought i'd really quickly give you a tour
of the outdoor patio at the front of the house this is a tap south facing patio so you'll be
able to tell it gets full sun all day long but it's kind of shaded so these hydrangeas are doing
really well so we've got two hydrangea annabelle's here these annabelle's they are annabelle's yeah
um you can sort of see how quickly they're growing but in a few weeks time they'll have
their flower heads on them we've then got some rambling roses these are david austin
i'm not sure what they are the lady of the lake they're a pink rose which i think will look really
against this backdrop pink against the white they as you can tell are really growing quite quickly
so we have one on this side and then one on this side so in a few weeks time again
they should be climbing the walls we might need to put some supports in here to help them
um then down here we've got some salvia caradonna but i've not opted for the purple these are the
pink ones and salvia and roses go really well together because you'll be able to see on these
roses here are lots of aphids and these aphids suck all of the sap out of the rose buds and it
will make the roses not as like full and bloom they actually probably won't bloom because they
suck all the life out of them so what i need to do at the moment is go and grab some pesticides i know
that's not the best thing to do but once the salvia starts to flower it should negate all of the aphids
and it should i don't know whether it's the scent of the flowers whether it's the scent of the leaves
but it does deter the aphids from landing and ruining the roses so that's a good little tip if
you're a gardener this is really gross but you can just pinch all of the aphids off
and they will fall off so if you have some roses that you need to
treat then just do this for the time being but you can see the tiny little flower buds underneath
are already starting to come through so i mean i'm gonna do this for now it's very disgusting
the other thing you can do is order some ladybirds ladybugs and they are the natural predator for
aphids so really gross but you can try and introduce some ladybugs and they will eat all
the aphids so i might try that i might just get some aphid killer who knows but they are under
planted with i want to call this wire vine i've got some old ones that they're sort of trying to
grow they're potted in this pot i've then got some ilex cronata this is a really good alternative
to buxus which is this here but in the uk you get something called box blight or the moth
caterpillars will eat all of it and it will just die really quickly this does have cobwebs in it
so i'm not sure if this is already starting to succumb to the moth but ilex cronata is a really
good alternative because this is moth resistant so they don't eat the leaves it doesn't ruin them
and they are pretty much the exact same thing and they're also shade tolerant so they actually
really enjoy being in full shade so i've got two balls i might replace these cones in a few weeks
time if they don't survive but they're doing well at the moment there's another hydrangea annabelle
here and then at the bottom i've potted some really tiny chocolate cosmos plants these are
really beautiful flower that actually smell like chocolate and they love full sun so i'm not sure
but i've got i think two in there three in this one and then one in here again some more salvia
carried on another pink version another buxus pyramid and then you'll notice on the windowsill
in my planters i've got some tiny erygeron plants this is erygeron carpenskinus if i'm saying that
correctly these are mexican fleabane they're really pretty dual-toned flowers so they start
off white and then eventually they'll turn pink and you get these sort of alternate flowering
colors at the same time which is really beautiful but these are going to spill this one's doing a
really good job this is a bit more mature as you can see but they're going to spill over and create
a sort of a little cottage vibe in here so i put three in there three in there three in there
and they should grow really really fast so in the next few weeks again by probably late may to early
june they'll be blooming non-stop and then in these tiny little pots i have planted some actual
cosmos cosmos don't know how you pronounce it but i've got some seed packets that i've started
sowing i don't know if they're going to survive out here because it is quite hot and i will need
to keep on top of the watering but i've put some in these four um two here two here and then two
here but they are some double click snow puffs i think sounds very flamboyant but they're really
tall white uh cut and come again plants which should be really pretty in here as well and my
plan was to plant them sort of between the areas at the backs of this sort of border which i think
would look really lovely so yeah this is how the garden at the front is coming along and obviously
it looks really good because chad has repainted everything so in the next few weeks this is going
to be green so remember what it looks like right now i'm not sure if i have any footage from what
this patio looked like when we bought the house but chad has just given it a jet wash he did it
actually jet washed it yesterday and then today he's given it a fresh coat of sort of all brilliant
white paint uh and it has made it look a million times better so eventually this will be the
concrete will come out the bottom it'll be tiled we are looking to try and get some doors put in
these instead of these two windows uh but yeah we have to speak to an architect about that but it's
already looking a million times better obviously eventually we will need to take all these bricks
back to the brick as well they need to be all chipped off like in our old house um and then
hopefully the original brick under there is quite pretty i doubt it though because at the top you can
kind of see that it's red brick i'm currently filming from inside the bathroom which again
this window needs to be desperately replaced as well so there's lots of things we need to do
these windows are very very old critter windows but again this patio already is looking a million
times better this is completely north facing though so i need to do some research on the
best type of plant to put in pots a to grow up the walls to give it some greenery and b
just to flower i don't really like ferns and ivy sort of growing up the ball so i need to do a bit
more research to find out the best plants so that should be quite interesting to do over the next
few weeks but this is already looking a million times better hello everyone i'm currently editing
this video and i've realized there is no outro so i just wanted to really quickly jump on and say
thank you so much for watching i hope you've enjoyed this week's video obviously we started
the bedroom transformation i have yet to finish it so i still need to add another coat to some of
the walls and the ceiling but it's looking really beautiful so i will show you the update next week

bringing you with us we've done some little touring of some antique shops already but we're going to
some really pretty villages we've brought our tape measure with us so we can try and measure up for
some pieces for our new house yeah really excited to take you with us because we're exploring an
area we've not been to before so it should be really lovely so thank you again for watching
