I just had this conversation with my 10 year old daughter about ghosting because there was like a
little boy that liked her and then she wasn't feeling the same. Scarlett Johansson is giving
her 10 year old daughter some dating advice. The Black Widow star has been guest co-hosting
today with Jenna and Friends this week. During the January 23rd episode she and Jenna Bush Hager
were talking about Sex and the City star actress Kristen Davis who recently opened up about a time
when she was ghosted. That's when Scarlett revealed she recently had a conversation
about the very topic with her 10 year old daughter Rose. It does bring up the ghosting thing because
I just had this conversation with my 10 year old daughter about ghosting because there was like
a little boy that liked her and then she wasn't feeling the same and then she just stopped talking
to him straight up and he felt terrible and I was like telling her you know I introduced the ghosting
um but it really makes the other person feel terrible about themselves and so it kind of
sets them on this like spiral. I can say this because I'm so that person that's the ghost.
I hate confrontation. Johansson revealed she's been ghosted in the past and explained
it was not a good feeling. You've probably never been dumped. I have been. I've been ghosted for
sure. No dumped dumped. I'm full on dumped. Which is the opposite of ghosting where you're like
standing there and somebody telling you this doesn't work. Yeah like it's over and you're like
whoa. Yeah but that's better to that's easier to process than being ghosted though don't you think?
I guess so. I was never. Ghosted wasn't the thing when I dated. Well it's I feel like it's always
have you been ghosted? 100 percent. Where somebody just stopped calling you back. Yeah and I think the
worst part about that is that it's just this at least when you're dumped you're like okay it's
over yeah it's over whatever they said they was face to face yeah even on a phone call like you're
like okay I get a process yeah am I right at home like what do you guys feel about this yes
honestly being ghosted is awful because you're just left with no answers at all I know that's
true and you're thinking oh my god did I do something like did I push this person away did
I was I weird yeah was I creepy yeah what what happened and it leaves it haunts you for years
it could haunt you for years. I know we do need to teach our kids not to be scared of confrontation.
How do we do that when we're scared? We need to go to serious therapy. That's what we need to do.
But it's been a while since Scarlett was dating. She and Colin Jost began dating in 2017 and got
married in 2020. Scarlett shares daughter Rose with ex-husband Romain Dariac and three-year-old
son Cosmo with Colin. Earlier in the week the Weekend Update anchor stopped by to play a game
with his wife where they debated each other. During one part they debated who was better
Who's the better children's book reader? I guess I would say me.
Here's the thing you know how actors can sometimes sort of do a whole acting thing you know and they
tend to sort of make it all about them. I'm not naming names but just actors in general.
I feel like I let the literature shine. I let the author speak through me. I'm a vessel.
Oh god Scarlett that's going to be hard to beat. That's a beautiful like yoga bell.
I can still hear it. Can you guys also hear it? Okay Scarlett go ahead.
Or the children go to sleep. What do they want? They want like they want the mama's touch. They
want to be soothed. They want to be brought into another land. I love to do all the voices for
them. They ask me do the voices. Do the voices mom and that shows me that I can do the voices.
Oh god this is hard but as somebody that likes to let the literature speak I have to give this
one to Colin. Scarlett please still do the show with me if we can somehow round up a lot of money.
Well I won't do the voices okay. I won't do them. Please do the voices.
