Episode 8 documents the process of transforming a bedroom into a minimalist style on a budget. From cleaning and removing unnecessary items to rearranging furniture and adding subtle details, the space becomes tidier, airier, and more relaxing. This is an ideal choice for those who want to refresh their bedroom while effectively controlling costs.
This room desperately needed a makeover. This is Jimmy and Autumn's bedroom.
They have been living in their apartment for two years and this is one of their
least favorite rooms to hang out in. It definitely does not give serene, calm,
restful vibes. So we're doing a clean sweep on the space. We took everything out so that we could
deep clean the room and we bagged up, boxed up all the items, took it out into the living room
so that we could do our decluttering and organizing and sorting from there. One of
the problems is definitely they have too much stuff for the size space that they have.
And they also have a lack of storage in the apartment overall. So I did a run to IKEA and
I picked up these large storage bins that will fit perfectly underneath their bed frame. In an
ideal world, you don't store things under the bed, but when you're living in a small space that
doesn't offer any storage solutions, you have to create your own. So we're doing what we can
with what we got. That's our goal for today, to make this room into a minimalist, clean,
serene haven. Let's get started.
IKEA run complete.
Good to see you again, beautiful goddess.
Yeah, so let's bring it that way a little.
We gotta let John do it.
I was Albert in Bye Bye Birdie in high school.
No way.
Yeah, so I got to sing that song.
Did you go to a musical performing arts school?
No.
They just did a yearly production?
I was in a theater program.
In high school?
Yeah.
Oh, how fun.
Yeah, we did. So I was the lead in that one. I was in Bye Bye Birdie. I was in
South Pacific, Godspell.
How fun. I would have loved that.
That was so fun.
I love musicals.
It's so fun.
That's so cool.
I always wanted to be an actor.
Oh my gosh. You could totally do like musical theater.
Oh yeah. Well, I do films and stuff, which is fun.
Yeah.
All independent.
Okay.
A lot of this is medication.
Okay, we can use this box.
Whoa. It just keeps unfolding.
This is my box. My very important box.
Oh yeah. There's your other box. Your very important box.
I don't have a problem.
We are finding homes for items that have been without a home.
A lot of the stuff that was in the bedroom was loose and uncontained.
And some of the stuff that was under the bed also loose and uncontained.
So I got these large under the bed storage bins.
Please model, Jimmy.
And they have some structure so that they can have a place to store things.
Oh, thank you.
John is currently banished to the bedroom.
He's working. He's working.
He's allowed to come out.
He's building a curtain rod.
Only when we tell him.
We're going to use these for storage for the items that basically that you don't always need.
Right?
Correct.
Well, we kind of acquired like little piles of things too.
Nice.
Lovely.
Yeah, this is great.
You get some structure and it fits under the bed and it will be two on each side.
I did the measurement of it. So it should be about 40.
Yeah, it's perfect.
Because we have the soft ones and the soft ones are hard because they just like push into each other.
No, this is perfect.
Okay, so what you got?
These are my climbing shoes.
Okay, and you climb how often?
I spend some years.
Okay, but you want to keep them because you aspire to climb.
It is my goal to bring that back into my life.
Okay.
Hiking slash water shoes.
They can come out when I use them.
Nicer shoes.
Pretty cool.
Dress shoes that you don't necessarily wear all the time.
Same with these.
Don't wear these a lot, but I like them for the right occasion.
Climbing harness.
And those sleeping bags.
Sleeping bag.
Oh, a backpack and a bowtie.
And a bowtie.
You use them together?
You use your bowties a lot though.
Backpack and a bowtie.
Who doesn't wear them?
The new album by Jaders.
Backpack and a bowtie, that's a great album.
Because I'm a bit of a wanderer, but a classy one, you know?
Exactly.
Wander, but keep it classy.
That'll go like in your closet.
This is a foam football that my mother sent me.
But we do use that when we go to the park or camping.
If we do toss it around.
Okay, so that's smushed.
It definitely got a little damaged somewhere along the way.
Yeah, we can keep that.
I'm gonna put that in there.
Oh, that's a good idea.
Football.
These are those mini napkins.
Oh, camping.
Oh, that's a camping item.
Yeah, and sleeping bag is also a camping item.
Sleeping bag, though, could go on that top, top shelf that you have,
either in your closet or...
You just have to put it in a bag.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, so that's...
We can fold it.
Elsewhere.
That's one way to do it.
Don't have to tell you twice.
We need to fold it up and put it in a bag, Gabe.
These speakers belonged to Justin and were gifted to me.
Uh-huh.
Do you want to keep them?
Yeah, do you want those?
I don't need these.
Why are those being stored away?
And I texted him and did he want them back and I let him back them.
So...
He gave them to you to keep or to borrow?
That's what I was trying to figure out.
Okay.
Maybe we should hold on to them until you get that answer.
I think that's where I was headed with that.
But let's keep it out.
Let's not store it because if he doesn't want it...
Yeah, he'll either take them back or you don't sound like you're going to use them.
Or I didn't need them.
You don't need them.
Let's just put them there to be determined.
Oh.
What's that?
The record player?
Mm-hmm.
Oh, you found it!
Yeah, but I fried the record player.
You fried the record player by using a plug that didn't belong to the record player.
That's where it went, okay.
So this is the right plug.
I could put this in the plug pile.
You could try.
I have a plug pile.
No, I already threw out the record player.
I'll put this in the plug pile.
I already know that that record player won't work.
At least we found the plug.
You did find it.
Another bow tie.
Here's these two rings.
Do you want these?
Are they mine?
No.
They're not mine?
They're mine.
Then why did...
I'm just...
Don't.
Is this real ring?
No, I don't know.
This is a fake ring.
I think they're all fake rings.
This...
Trash.
Do we have the trash?
Here, let's throw the trash.
Voila!
This guy, we should hold on to that and put it with the switch stuff.
This can go into miscellaneous electronics.
Are you gonna use that?
I was trying to because I think the one that we've been using isn't working.
Didn't you want to switch it out?
And I was trying to switch it out, but I was having problems.
Okay.
So I was gonna hold on to this until I figured out how to switch that over.
Okay.
Okay, so that could go in like your electronic spots of project-based stuff.
Okay.
Yes.
Anything else in there?
A bow tie again.
With a bow tie pile.
Is that it, Jimmy?
Okay, what else stuff do you have?
You've got to have...
Oh yeah, what is this again?
That was an empty box for some eargasm plugs.
Okay.
What else do I have?
I don't know.
Beach shelter going into the box.
Get this one.
It's also...
Nice.
I have a frisbee that I feel like...
That's for beach.
Yeah.
I found this frisbee.
I mean, she said she'd find more stuff, but...
So that's really it for your camping, beachy, visiting the park.
Can you grab the goggle box?
What about that TENS unit that keeps floating around?
Yeah.
That could probably be under the bed, right?
Probably.
Look.
That's a good place for my goggles as well.
It's a great place for your goggles.
It's a great place for all the goggles.
Gaggle of goggles in there.
Gaggle of goggles.
I feel like if you were going to describe a group of goggles hanging out,
it would for sure be a gaggle of goggles.
A gaggle of goggles.
So those...
Ah, that didn't hurt me.
You hit that.
Are you okay?
Did you say ow for her?
Yeah, I did.
Anything else?
I mean, should I put my shoes in with the shoes?
No, just the water shoes.
Yeah, because this is like camping, water stuff, sports.
Yeah, no, that wouldn't make sense in there.
Then that's it for this box because the rest is...
What else would go in here?
I don't really wear these yellow ones a lot.
How about we put these tennis balls in here?
Put the tennis balls in the box.
Sometimes I forget where it is.
Those tennis shoes?
Yeah, I just don't wear them a lot.
They can go in here.
Okay.
Tennis shoes and some tennis balls.
I mean, these are the things that are just kind of laying around, so it's good to...
What about these headphones?
You can if you want to put them in there,
unless you want to put them in your suitcase,
but will you remember that they're in here?
Yeah, I think so.
And you'll know to take them on a trip?
It's like travel, yeah.
Travel?
Is that weird?
No, it's not weird.
You'll know, will you know to look for it there?
That's the main thing.
This is where that goes.
Yeah.
We could also get little labels for each that says, you know, what basically what's in them.
We can just tape.
Small little sticker label.
Sticker label, yeah.
Or even just...
I have blue tape too we can write on.
Yeah, exactly.
Okay, this bin is...
Yeah, will you meet me in the middle?
Great.
These decluttering makeovers are completely free for Jimmy and Autumn.
And the way I'm able to do that is thanks to
the awesome sponsors that we have for the channel.
And thanks to you guys for checking them out.
Today's amazing sponsor is IVRX.
If you haven't heard of them, they are a telehealth platform
that makes modern weight loss care feel more accessible,
responsible, and medically supported.
I kept hearing about NAD as this supplement
that was just being touted as the most amazing thing.
And I've been wanting to try it for over a year,
but I felt very overwhelmed and confused at all of the information out there.
What I like about IVRX is that they really made the process feel a lot more approachable.
Everything is online.
You fill out an intake form.
A licensed medical provider reviews everything.
And if it's a fit, your treatment gets shipped right to your door.
From what I've learned, NAD can help support cellular energy,
mental clarity, focus, and healthy aging.
I'm a couple weeks into my treatment,
and my own personal experience is that I can feel my brain fog has really improved.
I also have more energy throughout the day,
and my sleep is actually greatly improved.
So this is like giving my body an energy boost
and helping me stick to healthier habits.
They have great online support, so you're not going it alone.
To get started with IVRX, you can scan the QR code on screen,
or you can click my link in the description box underneath the video
and use my code CARLA at checkout.
That will get you up to an additional $100 off your first order
on one, three, and six-month plans.
Let's get back to it.
Have a seat.
Will you build this one for me, Jimmy?
Hey, yeah.
Thank you.
There's a ruler on that.
Yes.
It's blended into the box.
A lot of this expired anyways, so I don't take it anywhere.
Okay, we're going to go through another box.
This is a lot of stuff that was in your nightstand that was...
Mostly medication and then the kind of junk drawer stuff.
Yeah, so let's see.
Like, I didn't know.
I didn't have any drawers anywhere, so what I didn't know what to do
kind of just ended up there.
This is a keep.
I still don't know.
Keep.
This is a keep.
I can't find a date on it.
Oh, but it has my name on it.
We can recycle the medications.
Oh, okay.
We can just take them to CVS and...
Yeah?
Yeah.
This will be recycled then.
There you go.
This is 2022.
This is 2020.
What's going on, John?
Maybe I'll get rid of this one and keep this one.
Keep this one.
Yeah.
Oh, that's actually...
That's a good one.
Keep this one.
Oh, Icy Hot.
That's a good keep.
You did it, John?
No, you're still doing it.
You did it.
That's like a good bedside.
I like it.
Yeah, okay.
So this is bedside.
For glasses.
I don't need that.
Trash.
Oh, you can go with a lot of your stuffies or something.
I keep finding these everywhere.
Do we need these?
I don't even understand what they're for.
They're like...
These are USBs.
You know, they transition you from USB to USB-C, I think.
Yeah, all right.
So keep one so that we have one.
We need one handy somewhere.
I think we got rid of the other one, so keep that one.
I don't think we need this.
This one.
You have these.
Yep, I don't need the open one, right?
Don't squeeze it out.
I like these.
I use them for my rehab.
Yeah, because I actually do use that one.
This is for a safe.
Yeah?
Are you chilling with this or are you going to ask me something?
There's a piece in the middle.
Uh-huh.
Oh.
Yeah.
Oh, really?
Oh, okay.
I didn't know you had an out time, John.
It's got a life.
Did you already finish the curtain part?
Yeah.
Oh, you did?
Thank you.
Yeah, yeah, just the rod.
I can do the curtain later this week.
Stickers.
Cool.
Sticker pile.
I'd like to put my photo back up.
That was bedside table.
It's like my current book.
Yeah, bedside.
I have so many of these and these are really, really old.
These are all pens.
Do you need all of those?
I can put them in the studio.
Curtains in cage.
Thank you so much.
Thank you, John.
No, I think we're good.
Okay.
Thank you, John Bond.
Thank you so, so much.
Say bye to the camera.
See you all next time.
Hey, if you made it this far, like and subscribe for John right now.
That's right.
Like and subscribe for John.
Good idea.
Good promo.
I'm going to keep using that one.
My subscriber's going up.
John does the most work out of everyone.
Yeah, John's the MVP over here.
He is, truly.
Eventually, we're going to go through your essential oils.
Do you need seven tea trees?
No.
I think that's the same one that's been floating around.
Oh, it just...
Yeah, this one does just keep floating.
Because I didn't have a home.
Bathroom.
Oh, sticker.
Very important.
Sticker pile right there.
I don't think I need this old mouse.
I know, I don't think you do.
Bye-bye.
Have that forever.
Oh, this goes to that little Bluetooth speaker.
That's the one.
Where is it?
Wherever.
Oh, we don't know the answer to that right now.
Don't ask questions we don't know the answer to.
This is your mask.
That's your bedside.
Was it a sleep mask?
Yes.
So you'll wear it at night.
Oh, it's two masks in here.
Two, but they're yours.
Yeah.
Bedside.
Sleep body lotion, which is nice at night.
Our remote.
For the TV?
Yeah.
That could be by your bedside, right?
This is the other remote that goes with the other battery stick.
I still have all these pens in my hand.
Oh, what'd you decide?
You want to keep all these pens?
Um, I guess not.
I know I definitely want this one and this one.
What?
No, I'm just laughing.
I'm like, I was thinking that you're just going to grab all of them.
I know, that's what I'm waiting for.
I'm like, and this three and these two.
Okay, the rest, I don't.
Bye-bye.
More hair ties.
Last birthday card I ever got from my grandma.
So I've got to keep that.
Sentimental box.
Sentimental.
Yeah.
Travel.
Travel, which we have.
This is a travel pouch right there.
That is a travel pouch.
Put it.
Oh, yeah.
Travel pouch.
Boom.
Get rid of that.
Goodbye.
This is for like the camera.
It just kind of keeps flying around.
Just give it.
I know.
I just fell out of the bag.
Okay, we'll get it.
Um.
Donate?
Yeah.
I do like having a poster, but I don't.
Oh, but you can use one of your other posters.
This is from when I went to school to become an insurance salesman.
Wow.
That's the entire course.
It's terrible.
No.
I did that too.
Should I keep it?
Are you going to do it?
Why?
No, I guess not.
No, don't do that.
I know.
It's not like that's a fun memory to have.
It's a terrible process.
No, it's not.
If I decide to sell insurance ever again, it might be useful.
I don't think you're going to decide to do that.
Personally.
I could be wrong, but I have a feeling you will not.
No insurance saleswoman in your future.
Yeah.
More creative stuff.
You might play one on TV.
Yeah, exactly.
That's true.
In which case.
Yeah, that's great.
You can research online.
I don't know if these batteries are good or bad.
Bad.
Bad batteries.
This, oh, this is first aid.
We should put that out somewhere.
Yeah.
I don't know why I have that, but I probably was like, this is too cool to throw away.
What do we think of this thing?
Jimmy, I gave that to you.
I don't know what it is.
I think we should just get rid of it.
If I knew what it was, I'd want it.
And if I need it, if I find something that I feel like I'll get one or that already.
It's empty.
The way you guys do stuff now compared to when we first started, this is markedly.
It's crazy.
I actually noticed that in the last session.
Yeah, well, especially from looking at the upload last night.
Oh, wow.
She used to ask for every item.
I don't need this, right?
I don't need this.
Now you're like, there you go.
There you go.
Yep, I want this.
Nope, I don't.
You started to find the rhythm and make things click with what you do and don't need and do
want and don't want.
And you still have moments to think about something, but you just, I see your approach
differently now than when we started.
Yeah, you have a lot more confidence in it.
Oh, that's good.
It is.
It's really helpful because it helps in general with decision making.
Yeah.
In life.
Not like my strategy.
Which it can be hard for all of us.
And this was like, I like Jimmy.
Well, we need to start you an electronic box, probably.
Yeah, I have this.
Oh, this is for the watch.
Do we need this watch charger thing?
Well, I have.
What about my is it for my watch?
I don't know what watch this is for.
The Apple charger?
No, it's this little thing.
Oh, no.
I don't know what that's for.
You can keep the blocks and I'll put them with the other blocks.
Box are good.
Do we need I don't think we need this cord.
Let's just get rid of it again.
If we need it, I'll buy another one.
We'll figure it out.
I'm not stressing on that.
Yeah, exactly.
If I can't figure it out, I can't think of what it is right now that I probably don't
need it.
Say it louder for the people in the back.
If I said the other day when you said, yeah, it really sucks.
And I was like, it does suck.
Is that card over there?
I can put that with my momentum.
Yes.
Thank you.
Sentimental.
OK.
If I roll a six, we're going to win a million dollars.
Me too, me too, me too.
What's this here?
Oh, that's for my ice.
My cold first aid.
First aid.
OK, so it's what you put the ice in the cold pocket and wrap it around.
Awesome.
OK, we cleared that bin.
Cool.
We're done.
That's pretty empty.
So far, this is just empty on my lap.
I know.
Thank you for your support, Jimmy.
You got it.
Oh, my gosh.
You got it, dude.
End of career.
Yeah, a lot of that.
I feel like it has served its purpose.
Donate.
You're done with it.
It is such a mess.
It leaves tinsel everywhere.
Or is that just laundry?
Laundry.
I don't know that there actually need to be laundry.
Laundry.
I'll put those socks in them.
Thank you.
Donate.
Laundry.
2008 in Italy, but I just don't wear it anymore.
No sweater?
Yeah, but I kept it.
I kept it because.
Italy?
Because Italy, but like, what am I going to do with it?
Oh, I still wear that.
Oh, costume.
Here's my costumes.
Remember, I told you I had like two more.
That's these are them.
And that white shirt that I said that goes with this.
Yeah, I wore this on set once for Halloween.
I wear this and let's make a deal to actually wear it again.
OK, this is.
Looks like the ones, though, that are, you said, vintage.
I mean, it's vintage.
I still wear it.
You still wear it?
But you can hang it in your closet eventually, right?
Yeah, a lot of this stuff is special occasion.
Let's use the plastic one or something because I'm switching you to the velvet ones.
It's been nice to go with costume because it's like rave.
Costume.
OK, rave slash costume.
I mean, I say rave, but it's really music.
I feel like we're going out to warehouse raves at 5 a.m.
Oh, no, we're going to the desert.
We're not going out to downtown LA.
Oh, that kind of rave.
Oh, yeah, I used to do a lot of those.
We always just called them like camp festivals, even though we were different.
These are clothes that had been sitting in boxes
in their home studio office for a few weeks at this point.
And we really were just looking for certain items
that she needed for her upcoming job that week.
But once we got started,
we did find several things that she was ready and willing to let go of.
And every time we meet,
it's getting easier for her to really decide for what she wants,
what she doesn't want, what she likes, what she doesn't like
and what's no longer a fit for her life.
So decluttering, it really is a process.
And every time it does get a little bit easier,
you know, there's going to be ups and downs and setbacks.
But overall, look at all this stuff that's leaving.
One, two, three, four, five bags out the door.
Amazing.
That smile.
Senior portraits.
Oh, Hocus Pocus.
What is it?
Hocus Pocus.
I need wine to focus.
Was that a gift?
It was definitely a gift.
And do you want that in holiday?
I think it would be fun to actually use them.
Oh, in the kitchen then?
Yeah.
You can use them year round.
I mean, why not?
You know?
They were gifted to me to use.
I should use them.
So it's my grandmother's sweatshirt and...
But that stuff can be shrunk down though, right?
Oh, that's right.
Where did those bags go?
That was a Jimmy.
Oh, yeah.
Jimmy.
That was his job.
Right. He said it was with the suitcase maybe?
Is it in the suitcase?
Is it?
That's the suitcase right there.
Let's see.
No, that's not how you open this thing.
What the hell?
It's like mission impossible.
Wait, how do you open this?
Oh my God.
Let's see.
I'm still not doing it right, am I?
Oh, it's like this?
Like a hole?
Okay, no, it's not in there.
Jimmy.
Which suitcase?
The blue one?
No.
Oh, this is my grandma's favorite jacket.
What's in here?
Oh, this is like a keepsake thing.
Can it go on the wall?
Yeah, if we can figure out how to hold it.
Is it something you'd want on the wall?
Oh, I'd love that on the wall.
Yeah, this is keepsake.
Oh, keepsake, not holiday.
Something you would use at the holidays?
No.
Is it an ornament?
I would. It's an ornament.
This was something...
Yeah, this was the Chanel sweater,
but now I'm thinking maybe I should just get rid of this.
Is that a...
What is that?
Like a donate?
Is it a knockoff?
Is it legit-sies?
Like...
Well, I don't know.
I never knew.
But it's a little stained.
This is not...
Knockoff?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, I would just donate that.
The donate's in there.
Okay.
Oh, look it!
Oh, there they are.
So how does this thing work?
I've never used these.
Open it up.
These are vacuum seal bags,
but you don't need a vacuum for it.
Yes.
So it's great for stuff like this.
Because it'll smush it smaller.
Grandma loved her sweaters.
Oh.
And I have a few things,
but I just can't get rid of them.
Was this hers?
Or is this yours?
Yeah, she made it.
Oh, that's nice.
So that's all.
Oh.
Let's see if I can get one more.
Probably a little full.
I was hoping I'd get everything in one bag.
So it's...
This is what it looks like now,
and it's going to look smaller?
Yeah, so you seal it with this little guy here.
Yeah.
And then you just roll the air out.
Oh.
And now you can like go smaller if you want,
but I normally just do this.
And if you really, really want,
you can like sit on it.
Oh.
Or do it thinner and roll it.
It really does.
Wow.
Bring it down a bunch.
That's amazing.
And I could probably get even a little bit more air out of it
if I sat on it.
Oh my gosh.
That's amazing.
Yeah, I mean.
Wow.
It really does.
So for packing, it's awesome.
Oh my gosh.
You have to be careful of the weight.
Right.
Because it's easy to fit all this stuff in,
and then you're over like 70 pounds.
Right.
Getting charged $110.
Speaking from experience.
Oh my gosh, that's a nightmare.
Happened to us last year.
Really?
Both of you?
I was not over, but I was right at the limit.
Jimmy was over because he had a bunch of musical equipment.
Oh.
On top of the clothes.
But we ended up having to move all the clothes,
and it was a nightmare.
And then paying like 110 euros.
They actually are very nice for packing too,
because I can put all my dirty clothes in one.
And then all my clean clothes stay fresh.
Yeah.
Farewell to both of those.
That part.
Yeah.
I think that's the one I should consign.
Oh, the consignment shops you can?
Yeah.
Okay, consignment, bag, donate, store.
Let me try it.
Okay, so you roll like this.
Am I doing it right?
And then just kind of.
And push too.
It takes a little like rhythm.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
I'll fold very full.
This is a very full bag.
This is hard.
It is.
Hard work.
Whoa.
Oh my lord.
Mostly you wouldn't fill them this full.
You might do flatter.
Like half, half?
So that you can roll it.
Oh, oh, oh.
You know, if you fold everything really flat,
and then roll it, it works really well.
But we're doing really.
Probably wasn't the best one for you to get your teeth wet on here.
It really is.
Did this have double the stuff as the other one?
This one is feeling not as.
It's also thicker, like.
Oh my gosh, you're a pro.
There you go.
Oh, it's a learning curve.
Damn.
That is.
The one that has the vacuum attachment, I think is probably.
Way easier, because you just.
Yeah.
But they're also a lot more expensive, so.
I went the budget route.
The DIY.
Yeah, but I mean, it still works.
It does.
It really, really does.
It's not like.
Crazy.
If I had the vacuum still, it probably would like.
Right.
But it.
Feels pretty good.
Amazing little worker.
He's like.
You are welcome.
To pass.
You shall pass.
Okay.
What was this?
Oh, sentimental.
More teens.
Yes, they were in the bottom of this.
I am heading to the thrift store to see if I can find a few.
Organizing items for Autumn and Jimmy's place.
Boxes, containers, all of that stuff.
It adds up so quickly.
We need so many.
Let's see if I have any luck at a thrift shop.
You can always use baskets.
Baskets, baskets, baskets.
What do you think, Carla?
I think it's better for the contrast to have like a little bit of the floor showing.
That's so nice.
It's looking good in here.
Come on, yeah.
It's just startling.
This is a really nice rug, Carla.
Originally, we were going to wallpaper this wall and that proved too difficult.
So now we're able to do this floral rug in here.
And it's very nice.
Yeah, exactly.
So blue, you guys?
Yeah.
Okay, and then just if you grab me the four pillows and the comforter.
Well, this is actually a pillowcase.
These are the ones from your trailer.
I'll use one of these from the trailer and one from the bamboo.
This is the duvet hat.
You turn it inside out like this.
You turn it inside out, you put your hands on the inside
and then you just grab one corner and another corner like that.
And then you kind of just drop it over like so.
And it makes it so much easier.
It's like a weird little thing that's like so hard.
I would be for sure.
What is he doing?
He's fighting with the duvet.
I'm trying to show him how to do this.
Is that going to have a...
Oh, and then it snaps.
Oh, yeah, and then it snaps at the bottom.
Can someone grab him a pen?
You don't want both?
Jimmy Lee's defeated.
This broken smaller basket we're replacing with this basket here on this wall.
We're trying to still find solutions and we're using these
bins to go under the bed to store items in this bedroom.
And we're going to use one of them for excess linens.
And these other ones are pretty full already.
But we're just trying to create storage.
In your closet?
Because maybe I mean, but...
Do you want to declutter any of these?
And do you need to have Autumn here to do decluttering stuff for the sheets?
Because you guys might have too many sheets if you have...
You just got new ones.
Got new ones.
These she'll want to keep.
Yeah, I think we did these last time and it's really nice.
Yeah, that counts.
And we don't need all those.
I'm asking Jimmy to find some extra linen for me and he's
coming up with how many different pillowcases?
Lots.
Colors.
We have a number of those.
So many.
I don't know what that is.
These are all pillowcases.
That's a lot of pillowcases.
What do I do with all this?
Okay, that's fine.
We should keep some of this.
All right, doesn't match anything.
Doesn't match anything but I guess she'll want to keep that because
that was on her stuff for a while.
This is something to ask her about.
Oh, see, she's got a matching one.
See, I knew it.
These together.
Oh, migration.
Okay, and then there's this.
Does that have a matching?
It has a matching comforter and here's the other...
My god, there's more?
That's a lot of pillowcases I'm counting here.
Correct.
So we don't...
A pair, another pair, another pair, another pair, another pair, another pair are not paired.
What's the decision on these?
I'm saying these should go.
I'm saying that should go.
I don't know.
She probably should make a decision on that.
Okay.
These match the comforter that we have.
Okay.
Goes like that.
The rest of this is sheets.
So I'm gonna let her tell me if she wants to keep any of these.
Okay.
But I'm saying that all that should go.
This sheet sucks.
Okay.
This sheet might as well be sandpaper.
This sheet feels like something that somebody would have hidden it in the 90s.
It's like fake and ghostly.
So you would vote goodbye on that one, it sounds like.
Yeah, I don't...
It doesn't sound like it's comfortable.
Also, what does it go to?
Hasn't been used for a while.
I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you we have this.
Yeah.
Ah, this may not be mine.
I'm gonna put this in the pile of autumn.
To decide?
Okay.
Tell me that you can go because I think you should go.
So that goes all in for her to double check.
I want to make sure none of this is important to her, you know?
Okay.
So that goes for her.
And then what about...
There's one more on the floor there.
And one more there.
What is this?
Curtain?
Curtains.
Oh, wait.
Those might work.
What's wrong with those?
Not blackout, which is why...
Oh, old.
Those are also goodbye.
So that'll clear up some space.
And then there's one more I see on the floor there.
Is that another pillowcase?
Okay.
So at least these ones are matching here.
Booked at this very cute shelf.
Add some decor to the room.
And a little drawer for organizing.
Super cute.
Does it just hang on this little restroom?
Yep.
Slowly bringing things back into the bedroom and organizing,
finding homes for items.
A lot of things that didn't have a place that they were living
or shoved under the bed or on the floor
are now going to be stored in these bins underneath the bed.
Easy access, but things that they don't need every single day.
Her plushies that she does use are going to go into this basket.
So now they have a home.
This is also a great basket just for blankets
or throwing throw pillows from the bed.
Any of that kind of stuff can go in here.
One, two, three, four.
Ready?
All four of them.
Okay.
So four of these bins are going under the bed as their storage.
Their new storage.
This is blankets, linens, extra curtains, things like that.
This is Jimmy's bin filled with a sleeping bag, camping gear, etc.
This one here is Autumn's.
This has her costumes.
I think mostly costumes.
Oh, and some mementos also from her grandparents
that are clothing.
And then this one is kind of a hodgepodge of just miscellaneous clothing items.
Yeah.
Clothing items that are not everyday wear type things.
So that's what we're that's what we're doing.
Your closet.
Oh my God.
What happened?
I forgot those toads were stacked up there.
My God.
It's a good little storage.
But yeah, it looks like there's more.
So ridiculous.
So it's just been up there and you've never gotten it.
I just, I forgot.
I didn't even realize.
I can't see that high.
Do you see me?
They're gonna be like, wow, look at this messy, trashy human.
No.
Well, yes.
Let's be real.
No, but I tried to like, because there's nowhere to put anything.
So I tried to stack my things the other day and it all just fell on me.
And I knew Carla was coming back.
So I was just like, and left it here.
And that's kind of just what it's been.
So now you can explain myself.
I'm going to add this little hook here to the back of the door
for robes and things like that.
Cute little double hook.
We'll give her some.
We have a screw for that.
Can I just live in my fantasy world?
Where we have everything that we need.
If we have the screws, we're going to screw this into the wall right here.
We'll make it a lot neater than the one that she had hanging over the door.
But if it's not done today, then next time.
Autumn loves this artwork here.
And we're going to put it in this little nook.
How pretty is that?
Looks so cool.
By we, I mean you.
It looks so cool.
It's so cool.
John's going to hook it up.
Literally.
And it's centered in between the thing.
But like, yeah, like up and up into that.
Yeah, like, yeah, like that.
I'm going to do some math.
I'm going to do math.
Probably end up getting something taller here.
Yeah, that's right, right?
This is a snapshot of what the bedroom looked like when we first started.
And this is what it looks like now.
I think it looks absolutely beautiful.
We put about three days of work into clearing the room,
decluttering, organizing, sorting through so many different items and creating homes.
So there's a new dresser, two new nightstands.
We removed the bookshelf, moved that to the office, also removed the clothing rack,
got rid of this old dirty rug, replaced it with this beautiful new one,
added in new curtains that go all the way to the floor, added in a new curtain rod.
Everything all together just looks really great.
We also mounted the television, and I just think the room looks fantastic.
Jimmy and Autumn are happy with it.
They're spending so much more time in this room,
and it's a space where they can actually relax.
One other thing we added to the room that you don't see here is a headboard,
a really low profile headboard.
It just didn't arrive in time for us to film it.
But that way they have a little bit more stability
since we had to move the bed to be in front of the window.
Such a transformation.
Definitely let us know what you think in the comments, and see you next time.
Bye!
