Warm welcome from Münster. Münster is a university city in western Germany.
I will now ask a few questions here in Münster to people about their city.
For example, what particularly appeals to them or what might not appeal to them quite as much.
With this video, you can therefore learn authentic German as native German speakers actually speak it.
And to all the new faces, a warm welcome.
My name is Jule. I am a certified German teacher, a certified examiner, and a native speaker.
Now let's get started. Here we go.
What do you particularly like about Münster?
Everything. So now I really have to say, Münster is, so to speak, the perfect city.
The people here are really nice and have a progressive mindset.
I find that, purely from an architectural standpoint, we're on the Principal Market, absolutely beautiful here.
But one is simultaneously somehow incredibly fast in nature.
There's water where you can swim. So, a canal, as I said, absolutely fantastic in summer.
The people here are super kind and very warm-hearted.
They don't say it for nothing that Münster is kind of a bubble, because here you're just, well, kind of among yourselves. It's really cool.
What do you particularly like about Münster?
The size. It is large enough to have much, to experience much.
But you can also get out of town and into nature within five minutes.
If you don't want to miss any of my videos in the future, please subscribe to my channel.
And if you like this video, please feel free to leave a like.
What do you particularly like about Münster?
I find the city center extremely beautiful, and I have the feeling that everyone here is very, very friendly.
I really like that you can ride around a lot by bike and that there are good connections somewhere.
What do you particularly like about Münster?
The culture, the openness of the people, and the equality of all human beings.
Also, that people from various countries and backgrounds are here, and that this is also tolerated here.
Also, that rainbow colors are tolerated, that people can live as they wish.
We think this is good here in Münster.
And how do you like Münster as a university town?
I must say, Münster is the most beautiful city I have ever seen in Germany.
I find it so wonderful. I am so happy here.
Also, I find that Münster is so compact as well.
You can get to pretty much anywhere on foot or, otherwise, by bike.
Here we have the Asee, which is beautiful. We have the city center, which is beautiful.
We have the canal. We have the Botanical Garden and the castle.
Also, somehow everything is beautiful, everything is green, everything is so natural.
And I also think it's particularly nice that we don't just have a single central university,
but that we have various campuses.
I think that somehow clarifies everything.
Also, I find that nowhere else can one live and study better than in Münster.
What do you particularly like about Münster?
A Münster? I think people like that all smile the same way and speak the same way.
Everyone here is so friendly and also community-oriented.
Because when I actually drive here on the first day of school, everyone just comes to me like that
Hi, how are you? Hi, what's your name? And so on.
They're all like that, so nice.
And also, for example, that.
It's a magnificent church, Lammwälder Church.
This is my favorite church in Münster.
There are so many churches. So, just churches.
How do you like Münster as a university town?
Beautiful.
The weather is good now, so, it's great weather now too, but the Asian is cool.
Somehow the possibility of being able to get out very quickly and again have a bit of countryside.
but also, in and of themselves, many cafes, restaurants, clubs, bars.
One can simply live well.
What do you particularly like about Münster?
I believe it's the castle and the castle park.
I think I'll find it somehow, you know, he's just very close to mathematics.
And then one can always go for a walk there when it becomes too strenuous.
Then you can just wander around the Botanical Garden for half an hour, and afterwards you'll be fine again.
I often just switch off for a moment in nature too.
If you really want to speak German better,
Unfortunately, it's not enough just to watch YouTube videos.
Therefore, I create various exercises for each of my videos,
a detailed vocabulary list, the transcript, and sometimes additional materials.
You'll find all of that in my members' area. Feel free to stop by anytime.
And if you come to Münster now as a tourist,
What should one definitely see or experience in Münster?
Also definitely the city center with the Hauptmarkt and the cathedral,
that one simply walks around the area and also around the reed fields outside.
If you'd like to take a closer look at the Münsterland region, that is also recommended.
If you come to Münster now as a tourist,
What should one definitely take a look at here, or perhaps try out or eat?
You should definitely take the city tour at some point.
There is a city tour here.
I also think these city tours starting from the Lambert Church with the three cages up there are great.
I also think it's great to do all those city tours.
and make use of all the opportunities available here.
And above all, I'd also give one on the way,
Give them a tip to just take a look at everything.
Imprint these impressions and don't say later that it was Münster.
And then I'd say she should go check out that Kassel museum.
Up there on Salzstraße, we also have a free museum that anyone can enter.
For example, there's the monastery story, which I also find very interesting.
If you're arriving in Münster now as a tourist and perhaps have a day to spare,
What would you recommend? What should one definitely check out or perhaps try?
I think it depends.
If you're at all interested in history, you should probably book a city tour.
Münster is indeed a city with a very rich history.
Here at the back is the town hall, where the Peace of Westphalia was signed,
One of the most important peace treaties in the world was concluded.
This is definitely worth visiting if you're interested in history.
Otherwise, here the Lambertikirche with the history of the Anabaptists, also very interesting.
If you're not particularly interested in history, it's difficult.
Also, if you're here in summer, I'd definitely recommend a visit to the Botanical Garden.
He's really beautiful. You can really go there and enjoy it.
Otherwise, just go to the pool via the canal.
Which city do you actually live in, and what do you particularly like about your city?
I'm very happy to write a comment.
I always really look forward to the exchanges with you in the comments.
So not only can you learn something from my videos,
but I also learn more about you, about your cultures, your home countries, and so on.
Is there anything about Münster that you don't particularly like, or anything that might be missing?
Münster is missing. Perhaps occasionally the feeling of a big city.
Also, if you're out and about here in the evenings, it's already fairly empty at times.
Unless you're now some David Bach or Hansa.
But as I said, Münster is almost perfect.
It's just maybe a little bit of this,
that one feels as if one is actually in a metropolis.
It sometimes bothers a bit, but otherwise.
Is there anything about Münster that you don't particularly like?
or where you say, what else could be improved or what might be missing in Münster?
No, well, honestly not.
I think Münster has everything one actually needs.
That is indeed a very nice answer.
Is there perhaps something about Münster that you don't particularly like, or something that might be missing?
Crime behind the train station.
Okay, I think it's good that people don't have a home.
But in the evenings, it is very, very dangerous in Münster.
Wandering around alone, crime, drugs.
But I think it's fine; the people can't help it.
They got caught up in it innocently.
But this crime behind the train station, where people are attacked,
so they can pay off their drugs.
That's the kind of thing where one could still work on it.
That is the one negative thing I find now.
Otherwise, I simply think everything is good, that one is working on it.
that people who need help actually receive the help they need
so that crime will decrease a bit behind the train station.
By the way, on my channel you'll also find street interviews like this one
also various other videos for learning German.
For example, vlogs, videos where I explain vocabulary to you
or also videos with general study tips
or, for example, tips for exam preparation.
Is there anything about Münster that you don't particularly like, or is there something that might be missing here?
Honestly, nothing comes to mind in principle.
Is there anything about Münster that you might not like so much?
The bus lines within Münster, because they're sometimes a bit illogical in their layout,
because they all drive into the city center.
Therefore, if you want to go from outside to outside, you usually still have to pass through the main train station.
There is nothing that directly connects Kinderhaus and Handorf, for example.
Is there anything about Münster that you don't particularly like, or perhaps something that's missing here?
I think almost nothing is missing, but otherwise food, so traditional food.
You just have to order a lot of things from my country, for example sweets.
I really like these candy drops, but unfortunately, you can't buy them here.
Is there anything about Münster that you don't particularly like?
or what else might still be improved or is missing?
Münster is a bicycle city at many places, even spelled out like that.
but I think it can still be implemented even more and even better.
Although it is already considered a cycling city in Germany, there is still more potential there.
Yes, if you're not from Münster, you really have to be careful when walking on the bike paths here.
See you here on YouTube next Sunday as always,
occasionally in one of my German courses or also on Instagram.
See you then!
