Good morning and welcome back to Ireland Live!
It's been really hot here lately, so we're actually quite happy to wake up to a bit of rain.
Which makes for a slow morning at home and a good cup of coffee,
before taking you along for the next couple of days here on the island.
Shall we grind some coffee?
All right, time for a little coffee chat.
Feels like just yesterday that I sat here,
already more than six months ago, pregnant, doing a little coffee chat or life update.
And yeah, now Ami is here.
She's actually just behind me on the play mat, playing.
She's four months old now and she just learned to roll over a few days ago.
And so that's all she's been wanting to do.
So that's why I left her on the play mat,
because she's more happy there lately than sitting.
Sitting still is not her favorite thing to do.
Yeah, she just rolled over trying to catch the little bugs.
So yeah, a little update on how we are, how Ireland Live is.
So we're good. Ami is good.
I feel like she really loves just being here.
It's so nice to see her out in nature.
Like there's always something to see for her out here.
And yeah, it's just beautiful.
It just really reminds me of, yeah, why we live here and why we chose this lifestyle.
It's definitely not always easy.
But yeah, seeing her so happy definitely makes it worth it.
Something that I do find difficult, but I already found it difficult before.
Having a child is sometimes like not being able to just like jump on my bike
or get in the car and go see friends and get a coffee
or go for a walk together or something like that.
Like we do have friends and family here, but they all live on different islands.
So we have to go with the boat and then Anne has to bring me.
And you know, he also has stuff he wants to get done.
So yeah, that's a little bit difficult sometimes, especially now with the baby.
She's just laying there looking at something.
I don't know what.
So yeah, Anne is doing good.
Anne also doing good.
When we first arrived to the island, he had some like he didn't feel great,
but he's feeling better now.
He just had some like stomach issues.
I think he ate too many sweets in Europe.
He's also very happy to be able to go to the garden again, go fishing,
cooking, cooking, do little things, bits and bobs around the house.
So he's been busy with that.
And then I'm also doing good, though.
The last two weeks or so, I've had like a lot of headaches.
And I think, yeah, it's just, you know, like it comes from my shoulders and my neck.
Like I think it's from carrying her a lot, from sleeping in like
not the most comfortable positions, from lack of sleep.
Of course, I always like already always I have a headache if I don't sleep long enough.
So yeah, that has been a bit less good.
But now since yesterday, it's better.
But yeah, like I don't know, when you have a headache, it's just like
it's like you just don't want to do anything.
And then on top of that, it's been so hot, as I was saying earlier.
When you have a headache and it's like super hot, that just makes it worse.
So I'm very happy with these little clouds today.
I'm trying to do stretches like daily.
Anne has also been helping to sometimes massage my neck and my shoulders.
So yeah, I hope it doesn't stay like that.
Right, I think that's it for a little short update.
I think Ami is getting ready to go to sleep.
I'm going to just quickly enjoy my coffee
and then I'm going to put Ami to sleep for her first nap of the day.
Sleep.
How is it going?
Good.
Ami is sleeping.
Are you good?
yes
you have a good day
look who is home
papa is home
good morning, I am speaking quietly because
Ami is already sleeping, she is taking her first
nap of the day, and whilst she is napping
I am trying to get everything ready
because we are planning today
to go surf together for the first time
since a long time
since I was pregnant with Ami
I had a little longboard session
well, I wouldn't even call it a session
I paddled out with a longboard and caught
2-3 waves just out here
about 2 weeks ago, but I haven't
properly surfed with a shortboard
in 6 months
over 6 months
so yeah, let's try
let's see how we go
we want to try and film a little bit, but obviously it is a bit difficult
because as it is with a baby
we don't have much hands free
let's see how it goes
we are going to try and bring you along
hello
look who is awake
are we going to go surfing?
well mama is going to go surfing
we made it, we are at a spot called
pit stops
we actually used to work here
but it is really nice because the wave is super close
to the beach
so one of us can be on the beach with Ami
and the other one can surf and take turns like that
now it is my turn
we ended up only getting 2 waves each
before the wind changed and we had to take shelter from a tropical squall
but I am really happy we went anyway
I almost didn't want to go at first
because it felt like such a mission with a 4 month old
and it was
but I am really glad we made it happen
I definitely felt a little sore
and out of rhythm
but it was so good to be back in the water again
and with that, another few days of island life
come to an end
