Lights out of a racing in the sprint here in Guyana. Massive wheel spin by Fermin Aldeguer there from 7th place.
Joan Zarco did really well to avoid the spanner.
He was sideways on the grid in Ducati on the long run down to the first corner.
It's the Gianantonio from pole position who will lead from Marc Marquez.
Betsegui's dropped back to 4th place.
The Gianantonio though in position A from pole position.
He's already starting to gap the field behind him, isn't he?
It's Fabio versus Fabio at the front.
First time sprint winner here in Brazil for Fabio the Gianantonio.
The first MotoGP race lap in the box in Brazil for 22 years is now in the box.
It's the Gianantonio that leads it by over half a second from Quattroaro.
Fabio Quattroaro's factory Yamaha.
Turn 6 is where we have lost Mia early on in this sprint.
Look how late Quattroaro is braking on that Yamaha.
He is riding above the limit of that bike to keep it in 2nd place.
But is he going to have any defence here on the 1km main straight?
Yeah, it's no contest, is it, between the top speed of the Yamaha, that new V4-powered Yamaha.
No contest whatsoever.
Marc Marquez gobbles him up before he even hit the brakes for the first corner.
But if you have a big moment now in the front there for Quattroaro,
goes wide into 4.
Betzecchi almost followed him in there and went wide himself,
but he does take that 3rd place away from Fabio.
How hard is he pushing?
Well, we just saw how hard there from the onboard.
Fabio Quattroaro is still doing really well to be sunny side up in this sprint.
He's got Jorge Martín for company directly behind him.
Jorge Martín now on the inside of Fabio Quattroaro.
He made that move over the line.
So Jorge Martín then now up into P4.
We are seeing the relative strengths and weaknesses of the bikes come through here,
as good as Fabio Quattroaro is onboard that Yamaha.
If he can get out of this sprint with any points, I think he's done a very, very good job.
He's now 5th with a queue of hungry, fast riders on fast machines up behind him.
But that gap at the front just keeps building and building and building for Digia.
And the fastest Aprilia rider at the moment is Jorge Martín.
Marco Betzecchi, here he is.
This is the battle for 3rd place,
and it might change hands here soon between the two Aprilia riders.
Jorge Martín has passed Marco Betzecchi out of picture.
You'll see them coming into view now.
Look at the gap, too, between Martín and Betzecchi.
Has Bez made a mistake somewhere on this lap?
So Martín hasn't just passed him, he's gapped him.
Martín at the moment is really, really starting to come into his own on that factory Aprilia.
Without any question, he's starting to really get in his groove.
Jorge Martín, he was always going to take that once Betzecchi had made that mistake.
Betzecchi did a 19.4 on that lap, so it cost him a second.
It's going to take something mighty special from a mighty special rider in Marc Marquez to pass him.
Remember, three weeks ago, round one of the season,
Marc Marquez ended the Tito Springs in a rather miffed 2nd place.
He doesn't want to take silver again here.
The gap coming between Acosta and Morera in the battle for 9th and 10th is starting to come down.
Acosta not guaranteed here of a point-scoring finish.
The gap between him and Morera is down to just over 3 tenths of a second.
The gap between the Gennantonio and Marc.
Well, they go side by side here now.
There was a small mistake there, wasn't there, from the Gennantonio on the exit of Turn 12.
It cost him all of his drive, all of his exit speed, and he has surrendered the lead for the first time.
Fabio, the Gennantonio, what have you got then left now in the locker?
Because Marc Marquez leads this sprint with two to go.
That was the first blink from Fabio Gennantonio.
Surely he's got to counter-attack straight away here on Marc Marquez.
But look how late Marquez is braking as he tries to fend off the 49.
Is Marc Marquez going to get it stopped? He does get it stopped.
Is that Didier's one chance gone?
Gennantonio to try and wrestle this back.
Yeah, and it's one thing to get close to Marc Marquez.
It's a completely different ballgame to try and attack him.
Where does Fabio, the Gennantonio, think he is going to try and make the key move?
Marc Marquez going ultra defensive here, isn't he, on this last lap.
Can he keep the 49 at bay?
Well, this is Turn 9 and into 10.
The best opportunity from here is surely into Turn 13.
But Marc Marquez, too good, just parks it in the middle of that chicane.
There's nowhere for Didier to go.
Who's going to get the best drive?
Coming out of 12, which is where Didier lost the lead a couple of laps ago.
He's running out of time here.
Two corners remaining and he's too far back.
Marc Marquez has just got to make this nice, clean and tidy through the final couple of corners.
And he's going to be nailed on.
Big moment on big wheelspin on the rear tyre.
Gennantonio shakes his head.
He knows he blew it.
It was a golden chance to take his first gold medal.
But a late gift coming their way.
Marc Marquez, who was rewarded for piling the pressure on late on.
Brazilian football legend.
Cafu waves the chequered flag.
Marc Marquez then wins the first MotoGP race action in Brazil for 22 years.
In some style, he denies Fabio Gennantonio a pole and sprint Super Saturday double.
Fabio Gennantonio just coming up short.
What about this?
Marc Marquez and Fabio Gennantonio.
Their last lap, they set the exact same lap time.
But the golden talented MotoGP takes another gold medal.
The first sprint win of 2026 as Marc Marquez returns to winning ways once again.
