Huskies vs. Squirrel Highway: The Craziest Jump Ever!

Good, wonderful, beautiful morning Pawdience! Are we ready? Are we ready to 3, 2, 1? 2...1... Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go! Ah! Would you believe me if I told you it was going to be 60°F today, after it was 32°F yesterday? Because it's going to be 60°F today. It... Look! Bugs! It is beautiful out here! Jamie actually just loaded up his snow machine, which was in the garage, to take it back out to the farm. To put it up for storage for the rest of the year. Then, I think we might work in the yard a little bit today. Probably, because it's so nice and warm. Maybe we should fill in Eleanor's hole, so she can dig yet another massive trench. Are you digging these trenches girl? She says, yeah! Yeah, I totally am! Look! Fallen sticks from the ice storm. It's one way to get rid of them. Memphis is like, I don't want to get near that. It's not too wet. Jamie's over here cutting sticks. Kira's like, dad! Give me a stick! Look at this! Look! Pile! Pile! We're going to have lots of fires this summer. I think we got lots of... Lots of... We'll put somewhere and it will be dry next year. That's the plan, right? Is that the plan? Kira's like, the plan is... What you have sticking out of your nose? Can I have that? It's a grass. It was just a grass. What you want Memphis? You want your bed? Let me grab it for you. Is that what you wanted? Did you want your comfy bed back down there? She's like, yeah! This is my bed guys! I wanted a bed down here, so I could sit on it. Yeah! This one has been a pretty good one. This outdoor bed sure. Pet bed. She does seem to like this one. You're gonna lay down? You sure looked like you were gonna... She's like, I'm thinking about it. Maybe we'll move it in the sun. I can move it in the sun, if that's where you'd rather be. You have dirt on your face, cause you were peeking in the hole back there. Going down? Yep! She's like, oh! That is what I needed! I needed a comfy spot! Is that your comfy spot? Yeah? Now you'll hang out here with us? Instead of begging to go inside? Alright! You do that! Are you helping? The fire is over here Kira! I think I'm gonna get this one over here. Do you want one as well? She's like, oh! You're passing them out? Let's see which one I would like. I think I would like this one. That's the one you want? This is the one. Where you gonna take it? Where you taking it? Right there? Okay, break it up for me. Kira's breaking this one up for me. I can throw it in the fire pit. She got it broken in half. You don't need to be chewing on sticks. But I guess, since I'm supervising. I know you're not eating them. Oh, you're already done with yours? You didn't even break it in half for me. You left it all in one piece. Oh, another one? Let me inspect that one dad. She's like, oh no! The smoke got in the face. Maybe I'll take that one. She's like, hmm... I don't know... Maybe not this one. Kira's still having fun with this one. Don't hit your sister with it. Look how happy Memphis is. She's like, mom gave me my bed. I'm the happiest dog on the planet right now. You look extra comfy. She's like, I'm pretty dang comfy. Don't steal her bed from her. You can lay over there. You can get up on the swing with me. Don't steal her bed from her. You're gonna try. Eleanor's like, I could probably fit on here with you. Maybe we could share it. Yeah, maybe not. Oh, the smoke came this way. It'll move in a second. I don't have to worry about it too much. Kind of keeps making circles around the yard. In this corner we have Eleanor. Holding perfectly still. And in that corner... We have... Squirrel friend. Who thankfully has not moved. Oh, he just left. Eleanor has decided to sit. And still has not moved. Are you watching for him to go down his normal path? She's like, I'm watching. For him to do... What are you doing? Oh, and she lost her focus. She's like, oh, what was I doing? Oh, hi! How you doing? Hello! I know it's so nice how easy it is to stay out here all day. I mean, we have stayed out here most of the day. We got lots of sticks cleaned up. And lots of things burned in the burn pit. And apparently this one is going to dig a trench. Or maybe not. There he is. He's back. Where did you go, Eleanor? Oh, you're right here. He's back. He's on the tree now. He's up there, Eleanor. He's right up there in the tree. Now he went up the tree. Eleanor took off running for him. There he goes. He's taking squirrel highway. And... He's on the roof. Yep, and they know exactly where he's going to go. He's going to come around this way. And there he is on the roof. But is he going to make it back? Inside the overhang of the garage. With the dogs being here. Think you can make it, buddy? Oh, they're down there. They're... Creeping to the other tree. He's like, wait a minute. Changed my mind. Where are you going to go from there? Okay, he's up there now. Where... Are you going to make that jump? Are you... Are you thinking about jumping from there? You are. Are we going to catch this? Oh my goodness! That was crazy! That was wild! Okay, so squirrel highway apparently goes up there now. I don't think I've ever seen one jump from there to the cedar trees. I saw that! Caught that sucker mid-air. Now, if you're wondering, he's in the trees there. So this must not be one of the ones that lives in the little overhang here. He must live in the neighbor's shed over here. Cause he's going to make his way... I don't know where he went. I lost him. He'll make his way down squirrel highway on that side and then he'll end up just like we had. Did you see him, Kira? I lost him. I'm not sure where he went. She's like, he's back here, ma. I could snap... I don't know where he went. I'm looking up in the tree while you guys are looking at Kira. I think he squirrel highwayed himself right out of here. That was... Oh! There's a bird. I was going to say, something fell out of the tree. Nope! It was a bird. Are you out here digging? Oh my gosh! Jamie and I dealt with so many sticks today. We were going to W-A-L-K the dogs but they were all hanging out out here for quite a while so we figured maybe, yep, that's what I thought. We figured, since we hung out outside all day today, we probably don't actually have to go. Maybe we'll take him tomorrow instead. We did a lot. I mean, it doesn't look like much but the pile got smaller. I don't know if you guys can tell. I'll walk over there in a second. Two paws! Oh my goodness! Look at you go! Doing it again? Two paw digging? Two paws! Two paws! Two paws! Get in there! I think, honey, I'm pretty sure that Kira was the one that technically started digging this hole. Oh, what did you find? Something good? Oh, there's a root. Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! Happiest dog ever! Yes, you are! See? I told you the pile was smaller. We actually burned quite a bit of this and then Jamie took the bigger limbs that were in there and he cut them up into what will eventually be firewood. But he put them inside there because we have the cool little place over there for firewood but it's full. I've been throwing these sticks into our little burn thingy here. Are you eating the helicopters? Are you eating them? We try to throw a big log in there once in a while. This is warm. You can't really see any fire in here but holy cow this is warm. That big log that's in there now is a little too wet so it's kind of taking forever to burn down but holy cow! Holy moly! Oh my goodness! Are you having a good time? Having the best time? Digging? I want to go show you guys the bird's nest but I have to make sure that they're not there. We have a new bird's nest and it's not back here so I'm going to go peek out front and see if they're there. If not, I'll at least show you the nest. Quit eating the helicopters! Ok, I'm going to open the door really slow. I don't know if they're there. I don't think they're there. I do have a picture of the birds from the other day which we can insert here. And let me... Yeah, she's not up here. Check this out. See our Christmas wreath that never got taken down? If you go up here, can you guys see it? I'm not tall enough. Hold on. Please don't come dive by me. There's eggs in it! Oh my goodness! I didn't know that. I've got to tell Jamie that there's eggs in it. Ok, I am going to leave this alone now but we have eggs in the bird nest in our Christmas wreath. I had no idea that there was eggs in there. We checked it the other day and there was not. So now there is. Which means I'm not going to bother them. I did set up the bird feeder out front that has a camera on it but they haven't come to it yet. So if I catch them there, I'll put some clips maybe in this vlog if I catch them before this vlog goes up. But like I said, I did get the pictures of them. They're a... I think it was a house finch. They're a red house finch. They're really, really cute and they sing a lot when they're out there. That's how we knew they were there. But I'm not going to bother her anymore and I'm actually going to close our front door. The glass where you can see outside, I'm going to close that so they don't get bothered by us. Are you just eating all the helicopters? Come on! Let's go inside! You're eating the helicopters and the tops of trees. Oh my goodness! So yeah, we have some birds to watch for some baby birds to be born. As you guys know, I'm not the biggest fan of birds so I probably won't get close to them very often. That's why I went out there to check to see if they were there. But they are very pretty and apparently we can't take our Christmas wreath down because it's their home now. Kira! Did you come put yourself to bed? I was just taking a shower. I wasn't going to bed yet. You can stay in here if you want. Are you ready for bed? It's only like 11 o'clock! We were still watching hockey! You done? Okay! I'll leave the door open. You can stay in here and sleep. Get your beauty sleep before Eleanor ruins it. She's so tired! Are you all comfy right here? Yeah? Are you all comfy right there? Yeah? We couldn't get the Alexa to turn our lights on and then Kira's all comfy over there. I'm watching for the cat and the squirrel.
