Nick Jonas – What I Did Today ~ Vancouver, NYC, and a Solo Tour Announcement

All right, I'm here on set of White Elephant,
the movie I'm shooting up in Vancouver.
I've got my script.
Just doing a little reviewing
before I jump into the scene here in a sec.
But I'm so excited because I tell the world
tomorrow I'm doing A Night With Nick,
this tour on the East Coast.
I'm so excited.
I want this show to feel like you're in my living room
and I'm telling stories
and sharing kind of these experiences with you.
Lines, vines, and trying times,
a little bit longer,
all the way to my solo stuff, Nick Jonas' solo album.
Last year was complicated.
Sunday Best, Spaceman, all of it interwoven together.
But I'm gonna call Chase, musical director,
and get into it with him.
Yo!
Yo, dog.
What's up?
So let's talk about the show.
A Night With Nick.
I want this to feel like,
not so suited up and that kind of thing,
but like a more casual feel.
What does it look like if it's literally just me
with an acoustic guitar and or electric and keys up there
and we do some like sound design-y stuff?
Yeah, you and two others.
You hold down the rhythm
and let those people create the space around you.
It could be really tight.
I do think your idea about the video component
in some way could be interesting.
The story about how I wrote Love Bug, for instance,
and where I was and the descriptive nature of that.
And then behind me,
it's like you hear the sounds of New York City
and there's a video of the city
and when Joe was sneaking beers at 19 down the hall.
We could do a whole cool component
to go along with whatever I'm saying.
It's gonna be great.
Let's talk about it again tomorrow.
Let's get it.
Putting a show together is a crazy experience.
You have to think about the intention first.
You know, what you want the audience to feel.
I want them to feel like they're coming
to a dinner party at my house
and like we're ending it by sitting around
and just playing music, telling stories,
but with an artistic expression
and a way to do it that feels like really fresh.
I'm so excited about the prospect of it.
I get to go to a bunch of different
sort of chapters in my journey.
Come on tour again.
What?
Dude, come on tour again.
Let's get it.
I gotta go shoot, but I'll send it to you now
and then we'll get into details.
Love you, bye.
I love you, buddy.
Frank, what's coming on tour?
So I wrapped on set in Vancouver a little while ago.
I'm here at the airport.
I'm flying to New York on a red-eyed overnight
performance tomorrow, which will be fun.
And at this point in time, at 10 p.m.,
nobody knows that I'm about to announce
A Night with Nick, the tour.
I couldn't be more excited.
Definitely gonna be a whirlwind trip to New York
and I'll be right back up here to Vancouver
to finish this movie out.
But I love these moments
where I know something nobody else does.

Google's a 7% stakeholder in Vivo.
So, in lieu of a fireside chat,
I just figured, because Google's a stakeholder,
why not just use Gemini
and just do a quick fireside chat here.
Hey, Gemini, I'm here with some great folks from Vivo.
It's Nick Jonas, and I just want to do a quick fireside chat with you.
Wait, seriously? Nick Jonas is right there?
That's awesome!
So, for Nick's individual Vivo channel,
I didn't know she was so funny.
Wait, seriously?
Wait, seriously, you know her?
I really like her.
Thank you so much!
What a journey it's been.
It's so good to be here tonight in New York City.
How are you all feeling?
Cheers.
Now, the brothers and I are about to kick off
on the South American leg of our
Greetings from Your Hometown tour.
We're going to Buenos Aires,
Santiago, Chile,
Sao Paulo, Brazil,
and Mexico City.
And then I just announced today
that I'm doing a little solo run at home.
This performance,
the idea of just this conversation,
this dialogue, mixed in with some of the music
is kind of the creative for my solo show,
so I'm very excited to bring that to life.
Woo!
Success.
Nice job.
Hey, that was great.
I don't know who those people are,
but that was really great.
I had fun.
Me too.
It was very good.
I enjoyed it.
I knew after the fact.
I felt like it was going to sound great.
That's going to be so fun on these shows.
Absolutely.
This room, amazing.
It sounds so good.
Yeah.
Again, real piano,
the organ you have tonight,
and one pad thing that feels nice.
Mm-hmm.
I don't really think I need to tell Conor
because I know the lyrics.
Joe Johnson.
All right, more to come.
