Hey everyone, welcome back to the food forest. It's been a while. I've been super busy making a pickleball facility and
You know, we're just coming back into the growing season now
So one interesting thing that I've kind of been doing in the last while is teaching my son a lot about permaculture
So you might know the YouTube channels permaculture legacy Canadian permaculture legacy
So part of that is, you know the handoff to the next generation
My son and his friend are actually getting really into this the landscaping side of it, especially
So what I'm gonna do this season is
Allow them to make a bunch of videos
Practicing things that they've learned from me that they've picked up through their own
Investigations and I think it should be a really interesting segue
For this channel because you know, I've done a lot of
topic based videos in the first couple years of the channel
Moved into more of site tours in the last couple years and now to be able to do videos where
You can kind of hand off and see somebody else work with the system
I think it's gonna be really really high value
so you might see a lot of videos this season from my son and his friend Dustin and
Who knows what other guests he brings on but it'll be kind of an interesting thing
So with that being said
I think I'll hand this over to my son and he can he can figure out what he wants to do for his first video
So hope you guys enjoy let me know in the comments below if you think this is a fun experiment and let's get to it
Welcome to the 2026 season of Canadian permaculture legacy
We've got a lot planned for you guys this summer and we're gonna try to post this regularly as we can
I know the channels being a little slow lately
But I promise within the next week or so once we're up and going it'll be a lot more consistent
I'm well and
Dusty's the one holding the camera. Hello a little bit about us
I'm going for engineering right now. I'm taking a nuclear engineering degree and I've just finished my second year
So I'm off on summer now and I've gotten a full-time job at a garden center nearby
So I'm working with plants learning a little more there. Hopefully as well
But then I'm also gonna be
Doing the YouTube so it's gonna be a busy summer
But I think it's gonna be a fun summer and hopefully we can get a lot of nice weather out here
We've had a pretty slow start to the warm weather we've had a couple of days where it gets up to 20
But then it's right back down and it's frosting again, which it is expected
But to be honest, I'm a little done with the frost myself
We're also probably last another just under a month
So we're gonna start out with a couple videos just prepping the area for a planting season
So with that we have a little project planned. There's a company just in town here
They manufacture wood pallets like skids
so
The rejects the ones that have defects that they can't sell
They normally just throw out so what we're gonna do is we're actually gonna go and
grab some of their what they call garbage and
We're gonna put it towards building a nice little project
We should be done that building project and ready to upload tomorrow night. If not, it'll be Sunday night
And then following that we're gonna be uploading in the mornings every couple of days to give you guys that consistency
We have a lot of ideas for what we want to bring you guys for the 2026 season
But if you guys have anything that you want to see just let us know down in the comments whether it be
How we do things around here if you want to see a portion of the land or some recipes that you want to see us
Make just comment them down below so we can include as many of your guys ideas as possible
We're really gonna try to make this 2026 season what you guys want to see as well as what we want to show you guys
Before we go I am gonna show you a quick clip from the dink den pickleball club what we've been doing down there
We've got eight courts
We went with a nice green color and in my opinion is one of the nicest facilities that I've seen
I think we really outdid ourselves. It's a nice little winter escape, but you know what we're coming up on the summer
So it's time for permaculture. See you next time on the 2026 season of Canadian permaculture legacy
