I want to encourage you to pray God's word. Pray the scriptures. There's nothing more
powerful than taking the promises that God has already spoken, the very words from His mouth,
and bringing them back to Him in prayer. Today I want to share with you seven foundational
promises from scripture that I have prayed over my life, my family, my health, my purpose,
and my protection. These are not empty words. These are the very promises of God Himself.
And when we pray them, we're standing on ground that cannot be shaken. Let me show you how each
of these promises can become a living, breathing reality in your life today. When it comes to peace,
the scripture to focus on is Philippians 4 verse 7.
Now the promise here is that the peace that God gives is not like the peace the world offers.
The world offers peace when circumstances are calm, when problems have resolved,
when the storm has passed. But the peace of God, that peace is different. It's a peace that stands
guard over your heart even when the storm is raging. It protects your mind even when anxiety
tries to invade. And here's the beautiful truth. This peace transcends understanding. It does not
make sense by human standards, but it is real and it is yours. With this verse in mind,
we should pray and say, Lord, I receive your peace today. Not the peace that comes
from circumstances being perfect, but the peace that transcends all understanding.
Guard my heart, Lord. Guard my mind. When anxiety tries to flood in, when fear tries to take hold,
I thank you that your peace stands as a sentinel at the door of my heart.
I choose to fix my thoughts on you. I choose to receive what you're giving me right now,
a peace that the world cannot give and cannot take away. In Jesus' name, I receive it. Amen.
The second area to pray for is all to do with God blessing the works of your hands.
Psalm 90, verse 17. May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us. Establish the work of our
hands for us. Yes, establish the work of our hands. Now, this psalm was actually the prayer
of Moses, a man who knew that without God's blessing, human effort is empty. You can work
hard. You can give it your best. You can pour your energy into your career, your business,
your relationships, your calling. But without the favor of the Lord, your labors will be fruitless.
With his favor, everything you touch will be established. Everything you do will bear fruit
that remains. Now, concerning the request of God's favor over your life, we should pray and say,
Father, I ask for your favor to rest on me today. Not just success by human standards,
but your divine favor, the kind that opens doors no man can close, the kind that causes blessing
to pursue me. Establish the work of my hands. Whatever I set my hand to, let it be established
by your power. Take my effort, my education, my experience, my dreams, and multiply them.
Let the work of my hands not be in vain. Let it be established, protected, and fruitful. Lord,
let my labor count for eternity. Amen. The third area to pray about is God's favor.
Psalm 5 verse 12. For you bless the righteous, O Lord. You cover him with favor, as with a shield.
God's favor is not earned. It is bestowed. It's not something you work for. It's something you
receive. And when it comes, it surrounds you like a shield. Think about that image.
A shield protects from every direction. It deflects arrows. It blocks attacks. That's
how God's favor operates in your life. It does not just bless you occasionally. It surrounds you
constantly. And here's how we ought to pray. Lord, I thank you that your favor surrounds me
like a shield. I receive your blessing today. I receive your protection around me. Just as a
protects the warrior in battle, your favor protects me in every area of my life.
I declare that I am blessed in my home, blessed in my workplace, blessed in my relationships,
blessed in my going out and my coming in. The favor of the Lord is upon my life,
and nothing shall stop me. I am surrounded by your goodness. I am shielded by your love. Amen.
Number four, God's protection. Isaiah 41 verse 10. So do not fear, for I am with you.
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you
with my righteous right hand. God's promise of protection comes with his presence. He does not
simply say, I will protect you. He says, I am with you. That is the foundation of all protection.
When God is with you, you do not need to fear. When God is with you, you can be strong,
even when you feel weak. When God is with you, he upholds you. He holds you up when you cannot
stand on your own. And here's how we should pray concerning God's protection over our lives.
Father, I thank you that you're with me. In the moments when fear tries to grip my heart,
I remember that you're beside me. When I feel weak and overwhelmed, I thank you that you might
strengthen me. When I'm about to fall, I thank you that you uphold me with your righteous right hand.
I do not need to be afraid. I do not need to be dismayed. You are my God. You are my helper.
You are my strength. And because you are with me, I can face whatever comes my way today.
I am upheld. I'm secure. I am not alone. Amen.
The fifth area to pray for is all to do with having a refuge in times of trouble.
The scripture, Psalm 46 verse 1. God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble. Notice the words, ever-present help. God is not late.
God is not absent. God is not surprised by your trouble. He is an ever-present help,
present when the crisis comes, present in the middle of the storm,
and present when you do not know where to turn. He is your refuge, which means he's your safe
place. He's your strength, which means when your strength fails, his does not.
If you find yourself in need of refuge, pray this, Lord, you are my refuge. I run to you today.
In the middle of my troubles, in the middle of my challenges, I find safety in you.
You are my strength when I am weak. You're my help when I don't know where to turn.
Thank you that you're ever-present. You're with me right now as I pray.
You're with me at my workplace, in my home, in my heart. I don't need to carry this burden alone.
I give it to you. I find my refuge in you. I'm safe in your arms. Amen.
Number six, pray that you're always being led by God. Psalm 119 verse 105 says,
your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. To be led by the spirit is to be a child
of God. It's the evidence of your relationship with him. When you belong to God, his spirit
lives within you and guides you. This does not mean that you will never make mistakes.
It means you'll have an internal compass, the Holy Spirit, who will lead you into all truth
and guide your steps each day. With this in mind, we should pray and say,
Holy Spirit, I invite you to lead me today. Guide my thoughts, guide my words, guide my decisions.
I want to walk in step with you. I want to be sensitive to your voice.
When I'm confused, give me clarity. When I'm tempted the wrong way, redirect my steps.
When I'm about to make a decision, speak to my heart. I am a child of God and I am led by your
spirit. Lead me today. Lead me into all that God has for me. I follow you, Holy Spirit. I trust
your guidance. Amen. The seventh and final point I would like to make is to do with authority over
evil. Luke 10 verse 19. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome
all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you. Now, Jesus did not leave us defenseless.
He gave us authority, and this is not authority over people. This is rather an authority over
the enemy, over every scheme, every attack, every work of darkness. The enemy may prowl like a lion,
but you have been given power to trample on serpents. You do not need to live in fear of
spiritual attacks. You can stand in the authority that Jesus has already won for you at the cross.
And here's how we ought to pray. Lord Jesus, I thank you that you've given me authority.
I declare today that I trample on every scheme of the enemy. I trample on every plan to steal my joy,
to kill my purpose, to destroy my family. I trample on every spirit of fear, every spirit
of depression, every spirit of assignment against my life. You have given me authority,
and I use it in Jesus's name. I am not afraid of the enemy. I am not intimidated by darkness.
Greater is he who is in me than he who is in the world. I stand in my authority. I walk
in victory. I overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony.
In Jesus's name, I am free. I am protected. I am victorious. Amen.
Now, I want to encourage you to take these seven promises and make them your own. Open your Bible,
find these verses, and pray them over your life. Pray them over your family,
and pray them over your future. God has already spoken, and now it's your turn to believe
and declare. His peace is available. His favor is available. His protection is available.
His refuge is available. His guidance is available. His authority is available.
Declare it today. Live in it today. You are blessed. You are protected.
You are led, and you are victorious. In Jesus's name. Amen.
Romans 15 verse 13 says, May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I want to encourage you to begin speaking this verse over your life. Say this,
The God of hope fills me with all joy and peace because I trust in him, and I declare that my life
overflows with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 26 verse 3 says, You will keep
in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you. Saints, I encourage
you to make this verse yours and apply it to your life, saying, I am of a steadfast mind.
God keeps me in perfect peace because I trust in him. Psalm 103 verses 1 through 5 says,
Praise the Lord my soul, all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord my soul,
and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.
Now, I want you to repeat after me and speak this over yourself. I will praise the Lord with all my
soul. I will not forget the many benefits I experience because of his love. God forgives
all of my sins. He heals all diseases. He is my Redeemer. Jesus Christ has crowned me
with love and compassion. God Almighty, Jehovah Jireh, satisfies my desires with good things.
And saints, I encourage you to speak God's word each and every time you pray. Psalm 119 verse 147,
it says, I rise before dawn and cry for help. I have put my hope in your word.
And another version says, I hope in your words. When you speak the living word of God,
when you declare and confess it over your life, you are saying, Lord, I am placing my faith in you.
I'm trusting and believing in your precious word. And let me tell you this, a prayer that
is based in God's word, it is a powerful prayer. So with this understanding, let's pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your precious word, your word that comforts,
your word that brings hope and joy. I choose to meditate on your word day and night
so that my mind may be infiltrated and filled with thoughts that are true,
thoughts that are noble and just, thoughts that are pure, lovely, and of a good report.
I pray that your word would begin to change me from the inside out. May I grow in knowledge of
scripture. May I be strong spiritually as my relationship with you is strengthened.
Help me, Lord Jesus, so that my faith will not be choked out by the worries,
nor by the pleasures or the duties of this world. Help me to set my mind on things above.
Father, your word tells me that you are a stronghold in the day of trouble.
And even though the enemy has declared war against me, I know that the angels of the Lord,
they encamp around me. Even though the devil and his army may rise up against me,
the word of God says that the power of life and death are wielded by my tongue.
And I declare victory in the name of Jesus. I declare health, protection, and preservation
over my family in the name of Jesus. You, my God, you're a God of order.
And so I speak order over every area of my life. I confess that my life is balanced
and that the enemy cannot disrupt or disturb any area of my life in the mighty name of Jesus
Christ. Lord Jesus, your word is of great comfort and it's a source of peace for me
because it tells me in Psalm 34 verse 19, that many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all. That means that I may face troubles.
I may be placed in situations or scenarios that I cannot solve on my own, but you, my Lord,
you will have all the answers. You will have a solution for all of my troubles.
And so Lord, I claim Psalm 34 verse 19 over my life. And I say, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
will deliver me from all afflictions, all troubles, and all tough situations.
Father, it's because you are both so powerful and loving that I need your grace daily.
Lord, I pray that you perform a good work within me. Your word in Colossians 3 verse 15,
it says put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature, sexual immorality,
impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. I pray King Jesus that you purify me of
these things. Let me be peaceful with no anger. Give me more of you so that the sinful nature
within me is completely removed and I may walk in a way pleasing to you. I need your mercy daily.
I need your protection daily, Lord. I'm grateful that you're forever faithful.
You are everlasting in your love. You're divine in your nature. And above all, you are holy.
Revelation 4 verse 8 says, And they do not rest day or night, saying, Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. Father, may I have a heart of worship,
a heart so filled with thanksgiving and love for you that I will not be at ease during my day
if I don't find time to simply praise and worship you. The Bible says you are worthy, Lord,
to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and by your will they exist
and were created. No one else holds such power but you. You are my hiding place.
You are my safe dwelling. May I be found to be abiding in your shadow, in your presence.
And Lord, I ask that my family may be covered by your hand. I pray that your presence may be
rich in our lives. May it be abundant in our homes and found to dwell in our hearts.
For I know that all I could ever want can be found in you. Lord, I confess and I believe in
your word that says a thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand,
but it shall not come near me, meaning that no bad thing will come near me.
No weapon formed against me or my family will prosper. When the devil tries to attack,
then you, my God, will raise up a standard. I declare the word of the Lord that I will live
and not die, but instead I will declare the works of the Lord and I will speak of his goodness.
I will speak of the goodness of the Lord as I declare that he has been faithful to me.
He has been merciful to me. I declare today that brand new doors of opportunity
are opening in my life. The windows of heaven are open for me and my family. I declare that I am
blessed in the morning and I'm blessed in the evening. I'm blessed in my going out and in my
coming in. I decree and declare that surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the
days of my life. I thank you for making me a recipient of your unmerited favor.
May you be glorified forever and ever. I'm so thankful, God, that you've heard my prayer
and it's in the mighty name of Jesus Christ that I pray and I believe. Amen.
When the Bible says, be still and know that I am God, it's really telling you to stop everything
you're doing. Stop worrying. Stop fighting. Stop resisting and start yielding to God.
Start listening to God. There is something about stillness and I believe that this verse is calling
us to be still before the Lord because we need to direct all of our attention, all of our focus
on the Lord. You see, when you spend time getting to know the Lord, when you spend time in the
presence of Jesus Christ, you will truly be transformed and I encourage you to desire and
hunger for these types of rich encounters in the presence of God because it's only in those
one-to-one intimate encounters that each of us can get a personal revelation of who God truly is.
It's only in those one-to-one intimate encounters that each of us can be empowered and filled with
courage. The courage to face the world and stand up for Christ. The courage to stand up to the
devil and declare that Jesus Christ is Lord. The prophet Isaiah received a revelation that should
inspire all of us to recognize God for who he truly is. Listen carefully to what Isaiah 45
verse 2 to 7 says, I will go before you and make the crooked places straight. I will break in
pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness
and hidden riches of secret places that you may know that I the Lord who call you by your name
am the God of Israel for Jacob my servant's sake and Israel my elect. I have even called you by
your name. I have named you though you have not known me. I am the Lord and there is no other.
There is no God besides me. I will gird you though you have not known me that they may
know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is none besides me. I am the Lord
and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create calamity.
I the Lord do all these things. This is a wonderful revelation of just who God is.
God is firmly in control. God is all knowing. God is almighty. Isaiah 45 22 to 23 says look to me
and be saved all you ends of the earth for I am God and there is no other. I have sworn by myself
the word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not return that to me every knee shall
bow every tongue shall take an oath. In those moments where we are still before God we need
realize just how mighty God is. Just how powerful God is. The Bible tells us there is no one and
nothing that can be compared to God. We need to remember this. Nothing and no one is worthy to be
competing for the number one spot of your heart. God should be first. Now let us pray. Dear Lord
I worship you because you are the God who makes crooked places straight. You are the God who can
move mountains and you certainly deserve all the honor and praise. Lord your word says in Isaiah
45 verse 22 to 23 look to me and be saved all you ends of the earth for I am God and there is no
other. I have sworn by myself the word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not
return. That to me every knee shall bow every tongue shall take an oath. I am looking to you
King Jesus. I am looking to you to transform my life. I am looking to you King Jesus to save my
soul. I am looking to you Lord as my Redeemer and Messiah. There is none like you Father. No one can
be compared to you. Help us to be still and know that you alone are God. Help us to have a sacred
commitment to spend time alone with you. Let it be a daily desire that we seek to spend time
alone in your presence. Holy Spirit I ask that you help me to make prayer and reading God's word a
priority in my life in the midst of a busy world. Keep our lives from controlling us. Help us to
keep our relationship with Jesus Christ a priority. Holy Spirit I ask that you never give up on us.
Don't stop convicting me and pulling me in the direction of the Lord. Help me to set my eyes and
affections on heaven. John 14 verse 16 says and I will pray the Father and he will give you another
helper that he may abide with you forever. Help me Holy Spirit. Help me to seek God's presence on a
daily basis. The Bible says in first Peter chapter 2 verse 1 to 3 therefore laying aside all malice,
all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking as newborn babes desire the pure milk of the word
that you may grow thereby if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. Under your
guidance Holy Spirit I pray that I may begin to grow spiritually and in faith. I pray that I may
grow in knowledge. Help me to grow as a believer and become spiritually mature. Holy Spirit help
me to grow in my knowledge of God and of his ways. Help me to grow each day as I meditate upon the
The Bible says in Psalm 119 verse 25 my soul clings to the dust. Revive me according to your
word. Revive me Lord. Revive my spirit and refresh my desire to chase after you. Revive my spirit so
that I may be alert and sensitive to your presence King Jesus. Lamentations 3 verse 25 the Bible reads
to the soul who seeks him. I will wait on you Lord Jesus. I will wait on you with an expectant
heart. I pray that the Holy Spirit will create a fire in me that burns brightly for the things of
God. A fire that burns for Jesus Christ. You are number one in my life King Jesus. You are the
May you be exalted. Psalm 119 verse 105 your word says your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to
my path. May your word guide me always. May it lead me and teach me your ways. I thank you for hearing
this prayer. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen. Who do you depend on when life gets
tough? Who do you depend on when you see nothing but trouble and chaos around you? Who do you
depend on when you have no strength? Who is it that you depend on when you're faced with
circumstances that you can do nothing about? Well today people have gone. I want to encourage you
to depend on God. Depend on a God who has given us wonderful promises in the Bible. Promises that
should lift us up when life tries to push us down. Promises that should bring peace to our hearts
even if our external environment is tumultuous. God's promises are what you and I should depend on
because God is a faithful God. He's a God who keeps his word because he is truth. Now I pray that this
message will serve as a reminder to each and every believer listening. I want you to know that when
you begin to trust in God's promises you'll realize that you are well taken care of. You will lack
for nothing. And for those who may be wondering what are these promises? Allow me to remind you
what the Bible says. In Isaiah 41 verse 13. For I the Lord your God hold your right hand. It is I
who say to you fear not. I am the one who helps you. This is a promise. A promise for those seasons
in life when you feel as though you can't get a break. It's a promise that God Almighty will help
you. The Lord will come to your aid. He will be your support. He will be your pillar of strength.
Isaiah 40 verse 29 says he gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases
strength. This is a promise. A promise for us to hold on to in times of weakness. God will give
strength to the weary. He will help you to stand when times get tough. He will help you to move
forward when it looks like you are about to be overwhelmed. In Exodus 14 verse 14 the Bible says
the Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace. This is a promise for us. A promise
of safety. God will fight your battles. He will fight our battles and we need to only hold
our peace. And so there is no need to go back and forth trying to fight here and there and
everywhere. Instead let God work on your behalf because we have a promise that the battle you face
belongs to the Lord. The Bible in Philippians 4 verse 19 says and my God shall supply all your
need according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus. This is a promise for provision. If you
have a need God can meet that need. This doesn't mean you will have everything you want but in
Jesus Christ you will have everything that you can ever need. So I encourage you to get to know
God's promises. Get to know them and hold on to his promises. Now let us pray. Lord Jesus be praised
master. Be glorified. I thank you for the many promises in your word. Your word says in Deuteronomy
31 verse 8 and the Lord he is the one who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not leave
you nor forsake you. Do not fear nor be dismayed. I praise you Lord because you have promised to go
before me. You have promised to be with me. You have promised to never leave or forsake me. For this
I praise you. Friends and even family members may abandon me. They may walk away from me and turn
their backs on me. However I thank you for your faithfulness. You have promised never to leave me
on my own. You have promised to always be by my side and for this reason I will rejoice. Your word
in Psalm 32 verse 8 says I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide
you with my eye. Lord I will hold on to this promise. I will put my trust in you and in your
word. Guide me Lord. When I don't know which direction to go light up my eyes. Teach me Lord
Jesus. Help me to be obedient to your word. Order my steps. In everything I do be my guide. Open the
doors for me Father and close the wrong doors. Bring the right opportunities my way. Father I
will trust in you and in your ways. Your word in Luke 11 verse 9 to 13 says so I say to you
ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be open to you.
For everyone who asks receives and he who seeks finds and to him who knocks it will be open.
If a son asks for bread from any father among you will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish
will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg will he offer him a scorpion?
If you then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children how much more will your
heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him? Thank you Father for this promise.
You are a Father who is good and you know how to give good gifts to your children. And so King
Jesus I will depend on you when life gets tough. I will depend on you when I see nothing but
trouble and chaos around me. I will depend on you when I have no strength. For all my needs I will
seek you. I will ask you and I will knock on heaven's door. I have put my faith in you Lord
and I will completely depend on a God who is faithful to his word. Your promises lift me up
when life tries to push me down. Your promises bring peace to my heart even when my external
environment is chaotic and tumultuous. I praise you Lord. You have promised me that when I pass
through the waters you will be with me. And when I pass through the rivers they will not sweep over
me. When I walk through the fire I will not be burned and the flames will not set me ablaze
because you are with me King Jesus. Surely if you are for me no one can be against me.
I thank you for hearing my prayer. Be praised Lord. Be glorified. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your
salvation. When you believed you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.
But I tell you the truth it is to your advantage that I go away. For if I do not go away the helper,
comforter, advocate, intercessor, counselor, strengthener, standby will not come to you.
But if I go I will send him the Holy Spirit to you to be in close fellowship with you.
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought.
But the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit. Because the Spirit intercedes for
the saints according to the will of God. And I will give you a new heart and a new spirit I will
put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of
flesh. And I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful
to obey my rules. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of
God. Praying at all times in the Spirit with all prayer and supplication to that end keep alert
with all perseverance making supplication for all the saints. And do not get drunk with wine
for that is debauchery. But be filled with the Spirit addressing one another in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.
Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore confess your sins to one another your false steps your offenses and pray for one another
that you may be healed and restored. But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.
They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk
and not faint. Search me oh God and know my heart. Try me and know my anxieties
and see if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.
