We are just one short ferry ride away from the wonders of Europe! You are invited to join us so buckle up for the ride! 🚗❤️😁
We were waiting for this day so long, so long.
It's so nice to go traveling again.
Hi, I'm Lavi and this is Olli.
Over the past four years we have been on some epic adventures around the world.
Now, after converting an old van into our new home on wheels,
we are ready to hit the road and explore the wonders of Europe.
Click the subscribe button to follow our journey and let the adventure begin.
Good morning.
Welcome to our odyssey.
So, after months of waiting and months of difficulties,
we are finally back on the road and making our way into Europe.
We had a big barrier for us in order to enter Europe
and that was that we needed our second vaccinations in order to cross over into France.
So, it's been a long road and we've been waiting and waiting
and we've finally got our second vaccinations.
We had to wait two weeks between the second vaccinations and traveling, which we've done.
And we are now sitting here in the port of Dover waiting to get on the ferry.
So, on top of the vaccination we also had to get a negative antigen test within 48 hours of traveling.
So, we did that yesterday and we have just cleared passport control
and it gave me my stamp and we have been allowed into France.
So far our ticket for the ferry cost us £150 and the negative Covid test was £44 per person.
So, it's actually alright.
It's not a huge price to pay to get over to Europe and have an adventure.
So, for today the plan is to make it across the channel to get into France
and just camp up and take a rest.
And then think, where can we go next?
Let's find out!
It will be really interesting to discover Europe
because we have been maybe on holidays for two weeks or in different countries in Europe
but we never really traveled on a long journey with our own transport.
So, it will be a completely new experience for us and we are absolutely up for it and super excited about it.
We did a small little tester trip in Wales.
If you haven't checked out that series already, please go and check it out.
We have an episode where we climb Snowdon, an episode where we go and see some dolphins in Wales,
where we go and see some puffins, amazing birds.
So, we did that little trip just to test out the van
but this will be our first big adventure in the van, living in it full time.
So, I guess we'll have to see how that goes.
Vanlife Europe, we are prepared and we're coming!
We are coming!
So, have a look here.
We're at the front of the queue.
The front of the queue, guys!
But we're not at the front of the queue because we are really early.
We're actually at the front of the queue because we were really late for the ferry that we missed.
France, France, France, France, France, France, France, France!
We come back, we come back very soon.
Nearly empty.
Endless space here.
There we go.
You can't really see them so much but the white cliffs of Dover, just over there.
Sunshine in England.
And soon sunshine in France.
Yeah, the cliffs are beautiful over there.
We are moving, we are on the boat.
We are on our way.
We were waiting for this day so long.
So nice to go travelling again.
We're leaving Dover and on our way to Calais.
And Red Tornado is safely stored away below.
Here.
So, what you see behind me is the iconic white chalk cliffs of Dover.
These cliffs are formed from tiny little skeletons.
That of plankton.
So over millions and millions of years, the plankton died, went down to the bottom of the sea
and formed this layer that we see behind us, this massive layer of chalk.
Can you believe that it was formed from the tiniest of little creatures?
I think that's super impressive.
Lunch with Lovie.
Lovie, what are we having today for lunch whilst we're cruising on the ferry?
Yummy, yummy wraps.
I will put some pesto on.
Peppers, so it's like peppers and oil.
Check please.
Yes.
You have to be always very creative with your...
This is all sort of non-perishable stuff that we can carry in the van with us.
It's pretty amazing what you can get from Aldi.
Good one.
That, that is literally something that you could sell.
We should start a small store on this ferry.
I mean this is super cheap to make.
Look at that.
I'm going to have a taste.
So tasty.
We are coming into the port at Calais.
It just took one and a half hours.
It was really quick.
We've just been called down to the van, so we're going to make our way down
and then we're going to hit the road.
We're in London.
No, no, no, we're not.
We're in France.
We nearly couldn't find the van.
We were like, where the hell is it?
But here it is.
Okay.
That's awesome.
Time to hit the road.
Am I supposed to go on?
We hit the roads of Europe.
Successfully off the ferry and on the roads of France.
Here we go.
It was a really good ferry ride and everything worked really, really well.
I'm impressed.
So we're just going to drive down south from here and see how far we get
and then find a nice spot.
Yeah.
Good evening.
It has been a lot of driving today.
A lot of driving, but we are down into France.
We are on the roads and we are on our way somewhere.
No, we just wanted to show you the day today.
We have made it into Europe and we are on our next adventure.
It has begun.
So we're not exactly sure what we're going to be up to.
We're not exactly sure where we're going to be going.
But, yeah, we're just really happy to be back on the roads.
And, yeah, we just can't wait for this adventure to begin.
Exciting times.
For now, we just have some dinner and then get a well-rested night.
Yeah, we parked up in one of these little lay-by places just off of the road.
Still in the beautiful countryside of France.
Beautiful weather.
So, yeah, I mean, it's just amazing.
It's just amazing.
What have you got there?
Goat cheese, mozzarella and brie.
It's just cheese, cheese and cheese and a baguette.
I'm just going to start pure.
You're so French.
