Good morning guys, I hope you guys are all well.
Welcome back to my channel.
Today we are heading into med school.
I've got placement and just a super busy week ahead.
And a busy, really busy day ahead.
I've got so many things that I need to do.
Not only do I have to be on placement,
but I've got so much study and uni content that I have to go through for med school.
As well as just making sure that I look after myself.
So I want to go to the gym today.
And I have to post out some postage stuff.
So that will take up some time.
My exams are coming up.
So there's just...
I literally woke up at like 6.30 this morning.
And I saw my alarm and then turned it off.
Because I was so tired man from yesterday.
But that is okay.
We got out of bed at around 7.30.
We've got placement.
Usually it doesn't take me to get to uni.
But traffic has been absolutely horrendous today.
You know what?
Sorry for going on a tangent.
Traffic is not real, okay?
There's just one car at the start that's going super super slow.
So whoever it is that's going super super slow at the start,
will leave.
Once I get to placement,
there's a lot of things that I have to attend to.
And overall it's a pretty busy day.
Now usually I like to listen to something productive.
Whether that be like a podcast or even like...
However, because it's been so hectic recently
and placement is a lot in terms of just being there.
I've used this time to be a little bit more of my like alone time.
Just letting my thoughts run.
Which may sound like psychotic and stuff.
And like could be mania and bipolar.
However, however, however.
When you're alone and like you kind of sick yourself.
Which is amazing.
But yeah guys, it's a super busy day.
But I'm going to obviously try to be as productive as possible.
And that's it.
Yeah, let's go to med school at placement.
Fingers crossed I'm not late.
Because this traffic has been terrible.
It's been terrible.
Okay, like look at this traffic man.
Okay, luckily it looks like normal traffic.
But no, no, no.
It's been bad.
Like South Road is the main...
There's like M2 motorway.
There's a crash on it.
So I had to use a different route.
It's been horrible.
Okay, it has been horrible.
I swear, I promise I'm not lying.
Okay, let's go to med school.
Okay.
Hi, can I get the combination with a salad bowl?
No chilli, no peanuts.
Coriander is fine in it.
Extra protein please.
Okay.
I've been told in the after party that was a coincide.
Do you remember?
Oh, yeah.
Our friendship has you to thank.
No.
It would have happened anyway.
No.
After I'm on the train, I would run away.
I was like, who's that?
Is that when you guys first met?
Yeah.
We first met at the tab.
It was like orientation.
It was like a...
There was a Klinside O-Week thing.
I didn't go to many of them.
There was like a tour and whatnot.
I think I remember going to the tab.
It's a good memory.
Was it MD...
Klinside 2, right?
Were you in Klinside...
I didn't see you in Klinside 1.
I was in Klinside 1 too.
But like...
Were you the health side partner or med side?
You were definitely med side.
I organized his schedule.
He wouldn't be here.
Oh, really?
Damn.
I don't even know the times.
Did I even get to talk to you guys?
No, I didn't.
Okay.
Let me take a seat real quick
so I can kind of explain
everything that's happened.
So yeah, I had placement.
And then I left at around 12
because I had a little class
that I had to go to.
And then after that,
I went and went and went and went.
After lunch, I came back,
did a little bit of study,
and then you guys saw me
practice ILS,
which stands for immediate life support.
Essentially, what do you do
when a patient is unconscious?
How can you get them to a place
where they're like
are hemodynamically stable?
How do you provide immediate
like life support?
Compressions, defib, airway.
After that practice,
I actually went back on to placement,
but they told me
there's nothing for me to do.
So then I did some study,
bought a coffee,
ate, did some more study.
So I studied from about
around about 3 to 8,
to like 5 hours.
Going through like some emails,
did a little bit of editing.
But then went over the medications
because my medication knowledge
is really bad.
What do you give someone
who has uncomplicated hypertension?
I don't know.
Prindiprol?
Yeah, Prindiprol,
which is an ACE inhibitor.
I know that now,
but I didn't know that before.
Or like I did,
but I just completely forgot.
And just going through,
you know,
what do you give a patient
who has AFib?
What medication do you give
a patient who has VTAC,
VFib, amiodarone,
and SBT is adenosine.
But obviously you do
Yeah, such is life.
This is my life now.
But yeah,
plan is to go to gym now.
It's a bit late,
but I do want to go to gym.
It's going to be my time
where I kind of relax
and then go home,
make some food,
eat,
maybe do some editing.
I felt like I've done enough
study for today.
And yeah,
just kind of go through
all my emails.
Yeah,
there's a to-do list
that I need to get through.
So we'll see how much we get done.
But I need to go to gym
and I need to get changed
out of this.
Yeah,
let me do a quick
food check though.
Alright guys,
that officially marks
the end of today.
So it is
bedtime now.
It's 1am
right now,
1.01am
and yeah.
And I have,
yeah,
uni placement tomorrow.
So another early morning.
But yeah,
I was really glad
that I got to
take you guys with me.
I didn't get to talk much,
but I will definitely
like annotate this vlog,
make it kind of like a story.
I hope you guys got
to see a little bit
of an insight
into like what my day looks like
and how I try to
like make the most of it.
It was pretty hectic,
but when I had time,
I tried to make sure
that I wasn't just
focusing on med school.
I was like looking
through emails and stuff,
trying to make it
as balanced as possible.
Because when you focus
on one thing for too long
and put all your energy
into it,
it can definitely
burn you out.
So yeah,
don't want to burn out
for exams.
But you guys,
I hope you guys
like this one.
I love vlogging
and I love being able
to take you guys with me.
It's like one of the most
enjoyable things to do.
It makes med school
like actually exciting.
On top of like it
already being exciting
and challenging
and rewarding,
what makes it
even more fulfilling
is being able to share
like every aspect of it.
Not every,
but like bringing you guys along.
It's so cool.
But yeah,
hope life's been
treating you guys well
and I'll see you guys
in the next one.
Bye.
