Hello and welcome to the highlights of stage four of La Vuelta a Femenina by Carrefour.es
from Monforte de Lemos to Antastula. 115.6 kilometers today, 2001 meter of elevation,
seven stages in total this year's edition of La Vuelta. Franci Cox still in red, two seconds
ahead of Lotte Capecchi and four seconds ahead of yesterday's stage winner Cedrini Cabal. This is
what the riders have ahead of them on today's stage. Category three climb coming with 96.1
kilometers to go. The Alto de Hospital coming with 31.6 to go and an intermediate sprint with 5.8
to go. Early Queen of the Mountains was taken by Marine Alléon ahead of her breakaway companion
Annelies Nysenboer, Maéva Skibon and Ashley Moorman-Pasir, who'd gone into the day wearing
the jersey, swept up two and one respectively. It meant that Maéva Skibon had moved into the
virtual lead again in the Queen of the Mountains classification, but our breakaway group Annelies
Nysenboer, Marine Alléon, Loretta Hansen and Marta Jaskulska as they headed towards the final 50
kilometers of the stage. The gap was around two minutes and 40 seconds. They headed towards the
Alto de Hospital, 6.6 kilometers in length averaging 4.1%. There was the beginnings of a
concerted chase from the peloton behind. Would we have any attacks from the general classification
contenders in this year's race? Alléon crested the summit and the Mayenne Montbarne, my pie rider,
taking 12 points and that put her into the Queen of the Mountains lead having won two
category three climbs even though she was level on points with Skibon. What a moment for Alléon
and the Mayenne Montbarne, my pie team. Valentina Cavallar of SD Works Pro Time was doing the work
on the front of the peloton. Our breakaway though Marta Jaskulska of Human Powered Health going on
the attack. Alléon's time in the break was done. Annelies Nysen not long after and it would then
come down to a duo. One of the most respected riders in the peloton Loretta Hansen and Marta
Jaskulska who's been so many breakaways in her career. It was going to be touch and go whether
the breakaway could stay away all the way to the finish. They had the intermediate sprint point
to come with 5.2 kilometers to go. Nysen was swept up on the run-in and while Jaskulska
took the six seconds, Hansen took the four. It would be a battle for two seconds behind with
that general classification lead between our red jersey Franzi Kock and Lotte Kopecky being two
seconds. The German rider crossed the line unchallenged. Would it be enough for her at the
finish? 10.6 and four bonus seconds on the line on the run-in. The gap was 25 seconds. Multiple
attacks from Toto Magalhães of Movistar then Karina Schrempf of Fenix Premier Tech. Some days it is
heartbreak and with 2.6 kilometers to go Loretta Hansen and Marta Jaskulska was caught by the
peloton and it would be a bunch sprint. A really technical run into the finish with a couple of
corners within the final 500 meters. Felicity Wilson having and hitting the front for Little
Trek through the Flamme Rouge. It was Liana Lippert that took the penultimate corner on the front.
Lotte Kopecky in the green jersey poised and ready. Kopecky gets a good wheel. Anna van der Breggen
now acting as a sweeper right on the wheel of Kopecky. Pater Noster is there. So is Shari Bossette
on the outside but the sprint now opens up and Lotte Kopecky hits the front here. Letizia Pater
Noster on the wheel of Anna van der Breggen but Lotte Kopecky straight down the center here.
Lotte Kopecky. Is anyone going to manage the challenge? No. Kopecky takes the stage.
Perfectly executed sprint there for SDWorx Pro Time. Lotte Kopecky and SDWorx Pro Time. The team
playing it perfectly. Mischa Bredeveld, Valentina Cavallari, Julia Kopecky, Femke Marcus, Anna van
der Breggen and Ninka Vinka deliver their teammate perfectly to the stage victory. Kopecky in green.
What a great job Anna van der Breggen did sprinting it out on the wheel of her teammate
with Letizia Pater Noster, Shari Bossette, Franzi Koch and Sarah Van Dam crossing the line behind her.
Our top 10. Lotte Kopecky from Anna van der Breggen with Letizia Pater Noster running out
the podium. Bossette, Koch, Van Dam, Lippert, Sierra, Scaliak, Sojka and Swinkles our top 10.
A stage win and the red jersey for Lotte Kopecky. She'll look to defend that jersey on stage five
tomorrow. She leads Franzi Koch by six seconds. Cedrine Cabal is at 12. Anna van der Breggen a
real contender for this race up to fourth at 20 seconds. Our stage tomorrow the flattest of this
year's Vuelta. 1120 meters of elevation in a 109.6 kilometers two cat three climbs and one
intermediate sprint along the route. Could be another day for Lotte Kopecky. Join us for more
action from La Vuelta a Femenina tomorrow.
