Looked like a nice time. I enjoyed looking at the overland rigs etc. ❤
Good morning. I am in Austin, Texas today and I
feel like my throat's starting to hurt which is not good.
I think it might just be because it was so hot and cold last night.
The weather's kind of bad. It's been storming.
Let's see. It's 51 degrees today but it's supposed to be sunny in 73
and tomorrow is sunny in 77. Now, why am I in Austin you might think.
Well, let me put myself together, get ready for the day
and we'll talk about it. Open roads, quiet mornings,
sleeping under skies most people only see on screens
but freedom comes with a trade-off. You are your own
navigator, your own mechanic and even your own lookout.
That's where the Wolfbox G900 Pro comes in.
This isn't just a dash cam. It's a full-time co-pilot
built for the kind of life that doesn't follow maps. With its ultra wide front
and rear cameras, you see everything. Tight trail switchbacks,
crowded city streets or that car riding you a little too close behind you in the
Because when your home is on wheels, awareness isn't optional.
It's everything. The G900 Pro's crystal clear
4k front view and sharp rear display give you confidence whether
you're backing into a forest campsite or parallel parking in a city you've never
been to. So no guesswork, no blind spots, just
clarity. And when the unexpected happens, because
eventually it always does, you've got automatic
recording and reliable footage that has your back.
Think of it as your silent witness documenting every mile
and every moment. But van life isn't just about safety.
It's about simplicity. That's why the G900 Pro
is designed to blend right into your setup with a 12-inch touchscreen,
voice control, clean install, intuitive controls,
no clutter, no fuss, just gear that works so you can focus on the road ahead or
the view behind you. From sunrise drives through desert
highways to midnight stops under mountain skies,
the Wolfbox G900 Pro keeps watch so you don't have to.
Because out here, freedom matters. But peace of mind?
That's priceless. Wolfbox G900 Pro. Built for the road you actually live on.
Make sure you check out the link in my description for an exclusive 20%
off your own Wolfbox dashcam. And we're back.
So, like I said, we are in Austin, Texas today.
And we are at the, well, I'm not at, but I'm going to
the Lone Star Overland Expo.
The Lone Star Overland Adventure and Power Sports
show is where I'm going. And I am here with a friend of mine, his
name is Kyle. Don't get any ideas, he has a girlfriend.
I know you guys are crazy, some of you anyway.
So we're just here to go check out the expo, so we're going to do that today.
I just got ready. It's only 8 30 and doors don't open until 10, so we
probably have about an hour before we head that way.
So there is no camping there, so we are just at a campground outside of Austin.
It's a nice campground, unfortunately it was like almost completely booked.
We are staying in their emergency spot because the spot we did get,
they didn't like how we had to park because it's two big vans.
Kyle has a 170 sprinter van and they're huge,
and so it's just a big, you know, we need a big section.
So they let us have this emergency spot last night. He went and talked to them
this morning and they said, well, you can stay in that same spot tonight,
but you will have to figure something else out tomorrow because we are
completely at capacity. And while the weather was really bad
yesterday and not a lot of people actually showed up,
they can't just give spots away just in case. They don't know why people aren't
showing up and if and when they will. So that makes sense. So all else fails.
We will find something on iOverlander, which is just like
trying to find free camping in the city or
possibly a KOA. So I'm going to take you guys
along with us for the Overland Expo and then
we will have a little cozy night in the van. Maybe we might even do a little fire.
I have tons of firewood. It would have been cool to do it last night, but it was
wet and rainy, so we didn't get to. So hopefully today
goes a little smoother. The weather is actually supposed to be really nice. It's
like sunny in 75 and then tomorrow sunny in 77. So I'm
looking forward to some nice weather after some really bad weather recently.
So I'm gonna have my coffee and I'll see you guys in a little bit.
I want to be downer. So we just got back from, well I guess we
didn't just get back. We went to the the Overland Expo and it
was really cool, but it was very small. Much smaller than I
thought it was going to be and honestly it's not necessarily
a two-day event if we're going to be real here. So
we came back. We went to Walmart, picked up some sunscreen and bug spray and
stuff and there's some really cool hiking trails and a little waterfall
here at this campground. So we just changed. I got my swimsuit on
and we are gonna go hike over to the
little falls area. Maybe even go swimming, I'm hoping.
And then tomorrow we're actually staying at Harvest
Host, still in the Austin area. We're gonna go to
paddleboard and or kayak on the river that runs
through downtown Austin, which is something I've always wanted to do and
I've never done and I've lived here all my life. So not
in Austin but in Texas. So I'm really excited about that and
we are here tonight. We'll probably do a little campfire
and nothing crazy. Just a nice relaxing summer feeling day.
So we're just taking a break. I am uploading a
video for you guys and then after that's uploaded we're gonna
hit the hike and go adventure.
It's looking pretty tasty. It's so hot.
It's gonna be a banger in about five minutes. Now that I've eaten
and I smell like a campfire, I'll go take a shower.
So this campground has hot showers. I'm really looking forward to one.
Unfortunately that was not a very hot shower.
It was like kind of warm. It got the job done.
It just wasn't super enjoyable.
Sad. But I'm really tired so I take my contacts out.
I kind of wash my face in the shower but I don't have any face wash.
So I'm gonna wipe it with some makeup wipe removers.
Oh yeah. See? It didn't do a very good job.
Don't mind my toilet. So I actually have
my Starlink hooked directly up to shore power. So I have internet all
night long. So I'm gonna cuddle up in bed and get
warm and I'm gonna watch a movie on my laptop.
I don't know what. Oh I'm gonna make some magnesium
first.
So I take magnesium fairly often and this is actually great
for muscle recovery. It's good for your bones and your
cardiovascular health as well. And so I typically
take this. It helps with like muscle cramps
after working out and it also helps you sleep
so good. I love it. I love it love it love it love it love it.
I like the first form one and this is the wild berry flavor. I don't
necessarily. It's not bad. I just
just add it to a little bit of water and it's just a little scoop.
I like to add hot water and lemon and it is
chef's kiss. The perfect pre-bedtime drink. But I don't feel like
heating up any water and I don't have any
lemons. So we're just gonna do room temp water and I just use my coffee
frother to mix it up real good.
It's just a wee little scoop and I swear by this. I swear by it.
I mean everyone's different though. Some people don't necessarily like that one
but there's all kinds of different magnesiums. I highly recommend trying
them and finding out which one you like. What
works best for you. But it's great for helping you sleep. I had I was
having trouble going to sleep last night. So I actually I was up till like one
o'clock in the morning. Literally just laying in bed. I
laid down at 10. Could not fall asleep. So I got up at like
midnight. Made my magnesium. Drank it. Was out by 1am and slept really
really good. And I woke up at 7 this morning.
I set my alarm. We had some things to do this morning
and that's why I had to get up. But tomorrow I get to sleep
in. So I'm gonna enjoy this magnesium. My lower my back kind of
hurts pretty bad today. I've been walking
all day long. It was really fun. We went to the
expo and then we walked because it was in downtown Austin.
And so we walked over to I don't know if you know you know
I'll post or I'll throw a little picture in here.
There's a little obviously a wall that says I love you so much and it's
really like Instagram famous. And so I
have lived in Austin. Not Austin. I've lived in Texas
you know forever and I have yet to see it. So we had to walk over there today
and I took a picture of it. And it's like the building it's on is like a taco
place. They have breakfast tacos and normal
tacos. We got a couple normal tacos and it was actually really good.
So good day good day. Which you guys saw earlier in the video.
Tacos. Then we came back when we went to Walmart. Got a couple
supplies. We came back and did a little not really hiking but we
went over to this little waterfall and we hung out
there and it was really nice to just go and sit down and enjoy nature for a
little bit. And then there was a few people that
came and it was these two girls. They were with more people but these two
girls essentially. One was teaching the other how to fish
and it was her first time ever fishing and I'm telling you
within three minutes of her throwing her line in she caught a gigantic
bass. I actually well she caught it and then like didn't want to touch it
because she was afraid and then her friend was like trying to reel
her line in and it got caught on something.
So Kyle got up and went and helped her and I got a little video of it so I will
clip that in here. So that was a very interesting and
eventful moment but it was a really nice day.
We came back. I got the fire going. Sat by the fire.
Listened to music and it was just really nice. We had
noodles for dinner. Nothing crazy. Nothing fancy and then we put the fire out
and we went and took showers and now we're back at camp.
He's getting settled and I'm getting settled and I can't wait to just
have my magnesium go to sleep because I'm so sleepy.
So I'm gonna lay down and get cozy. My magnesium and I'm gonna throw a movie
on my laptop and get some rest.
You heard a snapping sound? Yeah and I'm like
like it snapped and that's when I knew what.
